[Jack]
The tablets were a worry to Jack. The fact they were still here made
him worry a little more for the child. "What did the tablets do? Are they
just pain killers or were they something else?"
Again, more information that he didn't know surfaced. Ms Well was hard
on her daughter? Some parents expected a lot, and others physically tried
to get their point across to them... "When you say 'hard on her', what do
you mean? Constant pushing or..." Jack paused, trying to think of a way of
mentioning abuse without saying it. "... or more?"

Jack thought for a moment. Headaches? At her age? "You say she was on
medication? Have you checked to see if they have taken it with them at
all?
What was causing the headaches, if you don't mind me asking?"
Jack sat and sipped his tea. *Now* he felt like a nosey neighbour. Why
did
he sit here and question her like he was a detective? There was really
nothing he could do apart from offer his moral support to her... Taking
another sip of tea, Jack sat at the table and waited for her answer.
Marcy:
A perplexed expression came across Marcy's face as seh tried desparately to
recall the name of the medicine. She'd never really had a head for that
sort of thing and Ms. Wells was the one to take care of the medication,
however it finally came to her. "Diazepam," she said triumphantly, "I'm
afraid I don't know what it is exactly."
A frown touched the woman's lips as he mentioned the girl's mother's child
rearing. "Well....she expects more of the child than is reasonable in my
opinion. I suspect she's smacked the child, but I've never seen her do it,
but she seems the type. I could be wrong about that."
