The priest raised an eyebrow at the mention of the child being sick.
"She was ill you say? Do you know what was wrong with her? Perhaps she
was taken sick and had to be rushed off? No, of course not."
Jack thought for a long moment. The child vanished, then the mother
vanished before the police arrived. Something to hide? He didn't think so.
The cars weren't taken, so perhaps someone came to get them. "I don't
suppose you heard a car or engine or something before either of them
vanished did you?"
Marcy shook her head, "no nothing. I just don't understand it. I only hope
who ever has Alyssa is looking after her properly. She get terrible
headaches and has to have medication for them." She shook her head sadly.
