If you're in Europe, why not take a look at DCF77?  For example

Because:

- RF interference can be significantly worse in that region of the spectrum, from things like displays and many other items.

- the signal strength and delay varies

- the delay through the receiver is unknown and needs calibration (déjà vu here!)

- GPS/PPS is about three orders of magnitude better (microseconds, not milliseconds)

Yes, MSF and DCF77 are valuable resources for timekeeping, especially with wall-clock and wrist watch implementations, but for time keeping GPS/PPS is hard to beat if you can get a fractional view of the sky.

I expect you already knew all this, though!  <G>
