If Yahoo's T&C are the only thing holding you back from joining the forum, you don't need to worry. Someone made a mistake when they mentioned Yahoo. The forum is not run by or hosted at Yahoo, it is run using vBulletin forum software with a traditional web hosting company by one (or more) of the GIMPS members. So the Yahoo T&C do not apply.
