Hi Christina

>>I have PPT version 4.o. I don't know if that's old or not.

Yip, that's pretty old. I think that's about 1993/1994 in which case
your inability to read JPEGs will probably be to do with the
JPEG format. Current JPEG images are written to JFIF 1.2 whereas older
files would be written to an earlier version, most likely 1.1. Without
going into the vagaries and differences, your software would not be
future compatible which would explain the reason that you can't open
them.

Your easiest way to resolving this is probably an upgrade of the
software to be honest because the opportunity cost of your time will
probably be greater than the cost of the upgrade! :-)

>>why does my copmputer pop up an error msg saying
>>'Insert a disk into drive A' (floppy drive) when I'm

When your PC is reading to your disk drive, its just the drive search
order when its building the drive mappings. Standardly, PCs will query
in alphabetical order and the 3.5" has historically been drive A. This
can be re-configured in a number of ways, what OS are you running
because you can configure the system to ignore drive A?

Hope this helps.
