I've just tried importing a PNg file to PPT, but again it won't accept it. It would seem my version ofm PPt (V 4) is from the dark ages. But I like th idea of PNG. Maybe I should buy the upgrade after all. :-) Thanks for the tip re Image Ready. Yes, I have it! Re speediness in PPT. I havne't had any problems on that front using lots of tiffs in one file. But the file is, hoever, too big to send by email as an attachment which I would really like to do, rather than use the post.
