Hard to tell if it's the card reader or not, and it's not something you really want to find out <G>. Is there any reason, cost perhaps, that you use microdrives and not compact flash cards? Admittedly a 1GB CF is around 180 squids, but I find them more robust than microdrives.
Kind regards,
Tim.

A second 1GB microdrive died on me yesterday, only days after a relatively new one collapsed (they make a very strange noise when put in my 1Ds and can't be formatted). Neither had gone farther than my desk for a while, and as far as I know no-one has been dropping them.
