Re my message below, I have just returned from the lie down in a darkened
room (about an hour) having left the CD in the PC with PS running, but not
actually doing anything, only to discover that the images on the CD will now
open in PS, so I tried another CD only to be faced with the original problem
all over again - clicking on the image in the file browser doesn't even
result in the image being highlighted in blue and then it freezes. So maybe
the problem is that PS is just taking an incredibly long time to read what
is on the CD. Does this sound feasible and if so, any ideas on what to do
to speed things up? Any other ideas?

Thanks again

Amanda
