I think I'm over-complicating the issue here.
The pics are for a new web library client who needs jpegs from 35mm scans at
300dpi and 1.5mb.
Taking the size literally and wanting them to 'look right' file wise I was a
bit surprised at the great
variation in file size when the tiffs were jpegged and thought it might look
as if I was in some way inept! I realise now (doh) that the smaller sizes do
not reflect a drop in quality.
I've now done the first batch of 50 making the action from an 'average'
trannie and if questioned on the variations can now, thanks to you
Prodiggers explain the theory.
