I suspect all laptop owners who's machines work as they should will recommend them as I did the Toshiba. I went for Toshiba because it was recomended by more than one source and Ive been pleased with it,It does precisly what was expected of it and is a well specified machine. Clearly I have a monday machine and Richard has a friday one. Recommending a different make really is not helpfull and does not in any way answer his original question ! I suspect the answer will be to walk into the Toshiba centre with both his and my machines wind them up then ask Toshiba to explain just why the disparity in temperature and, I suspect because of that, performance between the two machines.
