Capture One can process Canon raw files very well but when it comes to using the camera tethered to a laptop it's another matter. Capture One on a Mac works with the 1Ds tethered... just (its not officially supported by Phase One but so long as neither the camera nor host computer go to sleep the connection seems pretty stable). When I asked what the problem was Phase blamed Canon for not cooperating.... I've just finished taking 150 images in dark Museum interiors where the combination of the DSLR and a small laptop were just what the Doctor ordered- high enough quality without loads of weight and the ability to review images very carefully. But the REALLY bad news is: Although C1 was one of the first to support processing EOS 1ds Mk2 raw files, the 1Ds Mk2 doesn't work tethered with C1 on a Mac at all.
