For anyone following this thread as it pertains to fader flip on the MCU Pro from Mackie, below is the response I received from Mackie support, and unfortunately confirms the limitations I've suspected while using this surface.
Hi Matthew, Thanks for writing! Unfortunately with using the HUI mode on the MCU Pro for Pro Tools does not have a flip to fader feature. Now if you are using Logic, Tracktion, Cubase or other DAWs that use either Mackie Control or Logic Control you will be able to use the flip to fader feature. Unfortunately there are more functionality limitations with HUI because Avid has not updated the protocol communication between the MCU and Pro Tools. Avid hasn’t really done any updates to HUI implementation since Avid has their own control surfaces that use the EUCON protocol. Let us know if you have any questions.
