If I remembered it correctly, the issue when having label and unit in
the translatable text is that currently we are forced to localize both
depending on the locale. I am aware this is not the best approach and
it should be amended in the future.

Yes, it seems feet is the imperial unit for height.

Short answer: I would not convert it. Long one: I don't think there is
a precise translation between unit systems, and the reference in
middle and long distance are in meters although it is pretty popular
to run single mile (as a competition) even in continental Europe.

I am not sure I get the point here... Usually strings (or group of)
are marked as "translatable" in glade files or inside "_()" so I don't
see why comments should appear as well in po file :?

not really a fan of all glade stuff...
