Ok, I've found a bit more about this:

According to Red Hat's own Y2K pages
(http://www.redhat.com/legal/y2k_statement.html) or more specifically, the
report done for Red Hat by "The Software Laboratory" (never heard of
them before - report URL: http://www.redhat.com/legal/test_report.pdf)
both Red Hat Linux 5.2 and 6.0 were tested "OK". However, on *both*
systems libc was found to have a "non-Y2K related date issue in strptime".
There was a second date problem, also non-Y2K related mentioned in another
program.

Still, if anybody knows even more wrt libc, I'd appreciate some comment.
