As "inspiration"? Perhaps. They may borrow some superficial trappings
and completely miss the heart of the story.
And what might that heart be?

By this i mean just the structure of the story or some underlying meaning to the story (that never seemed apparent to me. it seemed pretty straightforward just an action adventure novel)
