That's not a pastiche, by either the dictionary or common usage of the word.
A pastiche is either trying to write in the style of another (dictionary),
or utilizing the worlds/characters/themes developed by another (common).

my websters unabridged says: pastiche: 1 a literary, musical, or artistic piece consisting wholly or chiefly of motifs or techniques borrowed from one or more sources.  2 an incongruous combination of materials, forms, motifs etc., taken from different sources; hodgepodge.

This would seem to fit the carter/decamp more than the other writers that make up the whole story themselves to me anyways.  Due to the part about taking ot from one or more sources; hodgepodge.
