I can think of one. It gives you a excuse to the other half you need to
buy more hard drives. :-)

Illogical captain. WAV does not have any advantages unless your devices
cannot play flac. The only reason I can see why you would stay with WAV
is you already have your collection as WAV and can't be bothered to
convert your files, which can take time (can do batch conversion
though) also need to check tag system is set up during conversion, or
change settings in your ripper to flac encoder.

If you want your original WAV files back (burning onto CD-R)  you can
just convert the flac files.
