Good point Bob. FLAC is smaller then WAV for several reasons. First
there is no RIFF wrapper around every FLAC file. Second there are no
space wasting format bit place holders just taking up space. Third, the
FLAC codec was designed for lossless music storage and only that
purpose. Fourth, MicroSuck and IBM had nothing to do with FLAC so it is
efficient.
