Ed, If you want all your turnouts to be the same number (6,8 or whatever), then maybe not a bad way to go. Each number is a separate jig and more expense. If you have the skill to handlay track, you probably have the skill to build you own turnouts to custom fit your plan without contorting it to fit fixed turnouts.
I've machined and built all mine using full size templates (from CAD), a belt sander, dremel with grinding bit set in a router table, files, solder, solder gun and hack saw blades.
