Hi all;

Almost any turnout can be curved, even the Shinohara with the cast plastic ties 
(cut the plastic between the ties). Do not curve through the frog area, 
however, that part remains straight.

How frequently you should use curved turnouts is another matter. I suspect they 
are rare on the prototype (They generally have more space than we do!).
