Hi,

just wanted to ask what the current status on this is.

In the meantime, client 6122809176 seems to be working again, now we 'only'
have 3 more accounts which run into Internal Error.

7041860131
6600753004
8875125139

Whatever you did to 6122809176, can you please do the same for those 3 too?

Thanks!

Hello, I sent you details in a private reply. We are already doing
automatic retries with back-off etc. We are consistently running into an
Internal Error with such queries for a week already.

Internal error when asking for product_group_view stats for listing_group.type UNIT

2024-01-16 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello,

since 2024-01-10 multiple accounts of our clients stopped delivering data
via API.
When debugging we could pinpoint the problem to the following query:

SELECT segments.date campaign.id ad_group.id
ad_group_criterion.criterion_id, ad_group_criterion.criterion_id,
segments.ad_network_type, segments.device, metrics.cost_micros,
metrics.clicks, metrics.impressions, metrics.impressions
 FROM product_group_viewWHERE segments.date BETWEEN
'2024-01-10' AND '2024-01-15'AND campaign.status
IN(ENABLED, PAUSED, REMOVED)AND ad_group.status
IN(ENABLED, PAUSED, REMOVED) AND
ad_group_criterion.status IN(ENABLED, PAUSED, REMOVED)
AND ad_group_criterion.listing_group.type = 'UNIT' AND
metrics.impressions > 0 AND segments.date = '2024-01-10'

Here is an example request, response with Ids, query log etc.

Thanks for you answer!

"Also note that ad_group_criterion.negative doesn't mean the negative
metrics"
This is what I don't understand. How can a negative criterion (which is
meant to exclude targeting) have traffic and costs?

2023-12-04 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello, this happens on every request for the given client, since at least
several weeks, regardless of time of the day or number of requests.
We are already using a backoff retry mechanism.

Query on product_group_view with filter on segments.conversion_action_name always yields INTERNAL_ERROR

2023-12-04 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello,

for exactly 1 account when we run a query on *product_group_view* and use
an *IN clause on segments.conversion_action_name* we always run into an
*INTERNAL_ERROR*, at least since weeks. This is only the case for 1

Negative listing_group UNIT criterion with clicks, impressions etc., how is that possible?

2023-11-24 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello,

we have a client for whom we get some strange data from the API
which we cannot explain.
We fetch metrics from the product_group_view and there (among other things
that seem OK to us) we get for at least 1 criterion some clicks and
impressions
but that criterion in question (UNIT listing group criterion) is a negative
one.

How can a negative criterion have statistics assigned to it?

Hello, this has nothing to do with retries, it just happens at any time I
try the request, since weeks.
You can see an example request + response incl. headers and ids in my first

Queries on product_group_view yield Internal error

2023-10-13 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello,

we have a customer for whom any query on product_group_view , even the most
simple ones, are failing with 'Internal error'. This is going for at least
2 weeks now.

Does this account have some special settings or something which causes it
to run into these problems? Queries on other views are working fine for it
and other customers do not have this problem with product_group_view.

This customer does not have an import conversion action that matches the conversion action provided

2022-10-07 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello,

we have a client with the following setup:

1. Manager account XXX081
2. Account XXX056, managed by XXX081
3. A click with the GCLID CjwBwE from 2022-09-29, in the account
XXX056, which is visible in click_view and is associated with
XXX056 according to click_view
4. A conversion action YY0529 which is defined in the manager account
XXX081 and is visible as ENABLED and as having the manager account
XXX081 as owner in conversion_action (for both, the manager account
XXX081 and the actual managed account XXX056)

(Maybe an important piece of information: the managed account XXX056
was configured in the UI as having its conversion actions managed by the
manager account XXX081 AFTER the GCLID in question CjwBwE already
happened)

When trying to upload a conversion for that GCLID CjwBwE we get "This
customer does not have an import conversion action that matches the
conversion action provided" even if from
our point of view a matching conversion action is definitively there.

I can provide request/response SOAP logs in a private reply if necessary.

Re: Impressions correct when fetched from product_group_view but lower when fetched from ad_group

2022-06-03 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Just as an additional info:

The mismatch is also present in the UI. The client sent me screenshots from
the UI, the impressions reported on the product paritions view are higher
in the UI then for the corresponding campaign in the campaigns view.

Re: Any way to get additional status information (as in the UI) for Campaigns from the API?

2022-05-31 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
What you see in the screenshot is the Ads UI, the campaigns view to be
specific.
There you have a column with displays the status of the corresponding
campaign.
Contrary to the values possible in the "status" field in the API (ENABLED,
PAUSED, REMOVED) in the UI additional info is displayed, e.g.
"Einige Anzeigen wurden abgeleht" > "Some ads have been rejected"
"Eingeschränkt duch Suchvolumed" > "Limited by search volume"

How to get that additional information (Some ads have been rejected,
Limited by search volume) for campaigns via the API?

Impressions correct when fetched from product_group_view but lower when fetched from ad_group

2022-05-23 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello,

we see a behaviour in the API which we cannot explain.

For the same campaign/adgroup (which only contains listing groups)
- when we fetch the number of impressions from product_group_view we get
the correct total number of impressions (18542 - the same as displayed in
the Ads UI)
- when we fetch the number of impressions from ad_group the total number of
impressions (16401) is too low
- the number of clicks (97) is the same in both cases, as expected

What is the reason for this?

Which resource is now supposed to contain the metrics from "Ads & Extensions"->"Sitelinks"?

2022-05-11 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello,

One of our customers has sitelinks for which the statistics data was
fetched using the feed_item resource (since we used the
PLACEHOLDER_FEED_ITEM_REPORT report in the old API and the official
replacement for that is using the feed_item resource). Starting from
2022-04-28, however, the metrics dropped to 0.

We tried to find the corresponding stats data in the
"assets" resource but that only returned items of type "text", no sitelinks.

We tried to use the campaign_asset and the ad_group_asset resources but
they have no data stats data at all.

The ad_group_ad_asset_view only contains data for AppAds according to the
documentation.

SO WHAT IS THE SUPPOSED source for sitelinks stats if feed_item does not
work any more as it seems?

Re: Read-only access via API, should be full access

2022-04-20 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello,

- the access is limited not only to budgets but also to e.g. adgroups, we
tried.

- the end target account in question was actually created by one of the
agency MCC users using Administrative access.
- the other accounts of that customer (that we also can only read but
cannot write to in the same way) have been created by the accounts owner
himself and then he gave Administrator access to the agency MCC

Read-only access via API, should be full access

2022-04-19 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello Google Ads API Support Team,

we have a peculiar problem with the API.

We are using an API token we got via an agency (9837879498) to manage an
account (9845323299)
for one of their clients (3213552882).
We using the same token for all clients of that agency. Other accounts from
other clients of theirs work fine.

But for all accounts of one specific client (3213552882) we can only
execute read operations.
When we try to write something, we get

Method Name:
/google.ads.googleads.v7.services.CampaignBudgetService/MutateCampaignBudgets
Host: googleads.googleapis.com
Headers: {
"x-goog-api-client": "gl-php\/7.4.21 gapic\/ gax\/1.7.1 grpc\/1.38.0",

"login-customer-id": "9837879498"
}
Request:

}

"message":"The user does not have permission to perform this action on the
resource or call a method."}],
"requestId":"H-iJd-LaWtzDLB3ZJlu0Fw"}

When managing accounts of that specific customer via the Ads UI the
managers of the agency can
change everything, it is not read only. They also tell us that the customer
in question gave the agency complete
access (read and write) to his accounts.

@Google Ads API support team
Can you find out using the provided info what could be wrong with the
target account?

How is it decided by Adwords gets the click in single attribution if multiple criteria participated?

2020-07-08 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Is there any official order of which criterion type "wins" in single
attrubution criteria reports?
Like if a productpartition and a userlist participate in the click does
always the user list get the click, always the product partition or is this
more complicated?

"HTML5 Ad" has no AdType in the report and is not returned by AdgroupAdService

2020-06-24 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello,

one of our customers has some peculiar Ads in their account.

Example:
campaignId: 317716007
AdgroupId: 72472174998
AdId: 433377016075

They are called "HTML5 Ads" in the UI, when we try to request them from
AdgroupAdService they basically do not exist there
and when we request an AD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT, we get rows for them with
some properties but no value for AdType.

What kind of Ads are those and are those supposed to be handled via API at
all?

Regards,

2020-02-21 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello,

since about 8 hours we observe that our BatchJobs (Criteria bids and
Adgroup bid modifiers) don't finish for a longer time and we have to abort
them.

Their progress stats are all 0.

Does anyone else have this problem?

For the Adwords team:
Example batch job ids would be

2600151784

2019-06-13 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello,

we are using exactly the same Oauth token for both the new Google Ads API
and the Adwords API the user provided us with when he allowed Adwords API
access to his MCC.
This access was allowed on the MCC level (4554523147).

I've just executed a GetCustomers call on the Adwords API with exactly the
same Oauth token and account we are trying to access (9787711904). It works

USER_PERMISSION_DENIED from customer service for some accounts in the new Google Ads API which work in the old Adwords API

> https:\/\/developers.google.com\/google-ads\/api\/docs\/concepts\/call-structure#login-customer-id"]"

As you can see we get a USER_PERMISSION_DENIED.
We set the login-customer-id to the id of the corresponding MCC, the
account we request the data for is 9787711904 and is directly under the MCC
4554523147.

A corresponding request to the CustomerService in the old Adwords API with
the same CustomerId, credentials and Oauth refresh token works flawlessly.

We get an error like this for many more customers, but, on the other hand,
many others work and we cannot see any structural difference or any
difference in the approach between the working ones and the non-working
ones. All which do not work in the new API work flawlessly in the old one.

What are we potentially doing wrong?

We know already that if there is an MCC chain like Account A <-
Intermediate MCC B <- Top MCC C and we have the credentials for C, that we
must use C as login-customer-id and not B. But in the given example the
hierarchy consist only of the end account and it's MCC, the credentials
(refresh token) are on the MCC.

Regards,
Konstantin

Ads with an additional description field not accessible via API?

2017-09-18 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello,

our customers start seeing an additional description field in their ETAs.
It seems that such ads are not visible via API at all.

- Is there a way to access those Ads via API?
- If not, are there any plans to enable them in the API?

Regards,
Konstantin

Re: Issue creating ad with ad customizers via API

2016-11-08 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Replied.

The response to the mutate() call to create the ad contains the correct ad
customizer. But the response to get() afterwards, contains {PH_0).

Re: Issue creating ad with ad customizers via API

2016-11-07 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
We are observing the same problem.

In a test case we are using the AdGroupAdService to create an ETA and read
it again afterwards to check whether it has been successfully created.

We are setting a valid ad customizer in the path1 property. When we read
the newly created ad again the property value is returned as ' {PH_0}'.

We are also observing this behaviour in one of our customers' account.

Same keywords text and match type combination does not necessarily get you the same criterionId anymore?

2014-05-21 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hi,

one of our customer's accounts has 2 different ids for the same combination
of keyword text and match type. This was unexpected since we have thought
that this would be impossible according to what is mentioned in this
thread, for example (criterionIds being global objects and such)
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/adwords-api/dZiNRxV0sV8

Has this changed in the meantime? Or could this be a bug?
I cannot provide even the keyword text here since it the customer's brand
but could send full logs to the API team on demand.

I've verified that this is not a case of different encodings or trailing
spaces. The keyword criteria look exactly the same (keyword text + match
type) to me but have different Ids - in the same account.

Regards,
Konstantin
