Hey buddys, I've read in a local (Telugu) news paper (www.eenadu.net) that A R R is composing music for a Hollywood movie based on the biography of W.A.Mozart. Is this true ? If so, it would be one of the greatest hollywood compositins ever by an Indian artist. ARR sir will definitely consider compositions of the prodigy W.A.Mozart in to consideration. I've also heard that ARR sir likes Bach, Beethoven and Mozart. So, all the tracks in this movie might be similar to a symphony and we have to see how ARR works on sonata's and stuff. I am really excited. Also, I really love singing "Regina Coeli" composed by Mozart. hi i like to share for people who think the tunes are copied, re-used, re-mixed, re-cycled. We need a philosophical approach and guys plse take in positive way and i m not hurting anyone here. Even gods make incarnations and then re-incarnations in the form of many peoplein this world. this re-incarnation is a repeat process inform of some other persons. are we asking god why he re-incarnates as one cannot research in that as will end up in nothing. we just accept admire its different formand itsvalue.Similarly every music director creates fresh music which we would not have heard so far and also music with a different presentation with an influence of already tuned old music by some other MD,where we may had gone through some time ago. that does not mean he lacks creativity but it is his right of favoritism,his right of tastes, likesto tune a song which resembles another song also for the compulsion of the film director producer who wants the same tune/rhythm but in a different way. there is no point in criticising as old/recycled etc.. why? in our lives we are doing the same thing again again and we do different things very rarely. so it is one's intelligent way of presentation/creativity we have to account it for and no need to worry of copy cats. i m even interested to say, to see arr in future, tocopy old songs for sometime and to give the same to us in his creative way. we are ready to listen that is the spirit. so just ignore such time wasting criticism. the great thing in arr's music is only he can performhissongs atleast upto 75% on stages live for its extraordinary mixing of instrumentals voices in between and for very nuance sounds as no other MDs or light music orchestras whether ametuer or professional can give the same effects for his songs when they perform independently. this is arr's strength. please guys post ur views for this. thanx pankaj ;-) __Do You Yahoo!?Tired of spam? hey.. A.R.R had said earlier in a radio interview (singapore) when he came to laucnh a shop here.. (before baba released, bombay dreams) That he likes the compeition posed by Yuvan (thats how he said), Vidyasagar and a few others but not Harris- perhaps he had not made his mark yet by then.(still one of the newcomers) He agreed that BOYS had 16 tracks and each would be different. Now we know its been changed to 7 tracks. But thanks to being in this group, I found that Anarkali - KKS was actually a song composed for boys and a few other tracks were made too - but Shankar wanted just 7. (the below are from sun tv interview with pa.vijay) and about the song Ale Ale egiri kuthithen... is only 1 line of the 60 the lyricist wrote. A r r had to carefully choose 2 lines out of the 60 and use for the song I would like to start something different from the RDB posts, how about Theenana Munana from Desam(swades) for Rajini? The voice, the starting, the lyrics all suit Rajini and his image. Hi all,I have attempted to translate this for the benefit of our non-tamil friends:A.R.Rahman is a living legend. He never considers himself to be a genius. But, actually he is a super-genius.It takes time to actually meet him. So, we might get a different impression of him, before meeting him. But, once we go and meet him, we can understand him.If we meet him and know him, we will start feeling that "we are nothing. Why should we lead a false life? Why cant we be true, like him." Even if our assistant says something to us, we wont feel like "who is he to tell me".His popularity which started in Tamilnadu, has now spread throughout the world. For his Lord of the Rings play, a very famous singer who is touted as "Chinese Madonna" came down for recording, to ARR's studio in Subbaraya Nagar, Chennai. Music recording for Hollywood movies have been done here. Times have changed. People used to go to Hollywood to compose for tamil movies - but now, music for hollywood movies are composed here! This also shows the technological advancement... Hollywood is not something great...Rahman shows us that even we can reach that standard!The new studio that he has set up in Chennai is definitely up to hollywood standards. The re-recording for my movie NEW was done at Autograph Studio, London. This new ARR studio is better than Autograph studio in terms of technology and quality. It is God's boon to me that I get to work with him.For Ah Aah, he composed all songs in Kodaikkanal. We got the lyrics ready for Varugirai Thodugirai before Rahman started composing. He generally likes composing for pre-written lyrics. Even for "Sakkarai Inikkira Sakkarai" from NEW, the lyrics were written first by Vali and then Rahman composed the tune. Rahman changed few words in those lyrics to suit the tune. This shows his command over tamil language. The changes/additions he makes to lyrics are very sweet and poetic. These are all just a few examples of his brilliance. I sometimes wonder, why I shouldn't ask him to pen the lyrics for a song!Tamil consists of 3 basic elements - literature, music and acting. Though Rahman is an expert at the first two, he is very bad the the last one.. Yes.. This man can't act. He always portrays his true self.If we dont like a tune that he has composed, we need not hesitate or think too much - we can just speak to him openly about this. He'll say "okay. i'll try"... But, if he is very confident about the tune, he'll say "no.. we'll go with this.. this will work"... And, that one will definitely become a super-hit! The best example for this is "thottal poo malarum" song. Something really interesting happened...(contd...)The remaining portion of this will be available in the next issue of Kumudam. This new ARR studio is better than Autograph studio in terms of technology and quality. It is God's boon to me that I get to work with him. For Ah Aah, he composed all songs in Kodaikkanal. We got the lyrics ready for Varugirai Thodugirai before Rahman started composing. He generally likes composing for pre-written lyrics. Even for Sakkarai Inikkira Sakkarai from NEW, the lyrics were written first by Vali and then Rahman composed the tune. Rahman changed few words in those lyrics to suit the tune. This shows his command over tamil language. The changes/additions he makes to lyrics are very sweet and poetic. These are all just a few examples of his brilliance. I sometimes wonder, why I shouldn't ask him to pen the lyrics for a song! Tamil consists of 3 basic elements - literature, music and acting. Though Rahman is an expert at the first two, he is very bad the the last one.. Yes.. This man can't act. He always portrays his true self. If we dont like a tune that he has composed, we need not hesitate or think too much - we can just speak to him openly about this. He'll say okay. i'll try... But, if he is very confident about the tune, he'll say no.. we'll go with this.. this will work... And, that one will definitely become a super-hit! The best example for this is thottal poo malarum song. Something really interesting happened...(contd...)The remaining portion of this will be available in the next issue of Kumudam. Shankar makes no efforts to hide that he is sincerely happy and proud that Gandhi Krishna is making his directorial debut in Engineer. He described Gandhi Krishna to be the 'menmaiyaana' type and one who loves the arts: literature, poetry and story scripts. Krishna is a calm person who could easily solve any problem just by listening to people carefully and honestly. But all of this is best summed up by Shankar's final comment: En team-la irundhu aduththa director vandhaachchu-garadhu sandhosam-aa irukku. Padam varattum.. paarungal. En Gandhi-yin kadhai moththa India-voda gavanaththai-yum eerkkum. With blessings and support coming from his guru, Gandhi Krishna has a lot at stake in this venture. Besides Arvind Swamy and Madhuri Dixit providing the glitz and glamour with the excellent still session put together by Krishna, Producer Ramachandra Rao has an ensemble that has Kodambakkam literally 'vaai-yai pollandhu-fying' in awe: dialogues by Sujatha, lyrics by Vairamuthu, music by A.R.Rahman, cinematography by Jeeva and special effects by Venki.
