u see , let's not sepak from a VV-godfather angle. The prob is with the current youth trend and the absence of ARR on the scene from the 2000s onwards. Ai explained b4, ARR's absence had the trash outputted by other MDS look and feel good especially Manmatha Rasa.Futhermore the current teen generation dont know how to appreciate ARR's music. The 20s and 30s are too preoccupied with their lives.the preteen grpup is just too young. As u know the teen generation is important for any trend to catch on. Aha vanditaya vanditah, Guys if u wanna talk bout something intresrting talk bout Patiyal thats something good,VV was my biggest expectation after GF but harrish killed my trust. All the song are average, manjil nilavu is a great song becoz of hariharan as being the saving grace but the music sounds like backstreet boy song, go and listen! see this is the point where harish and Ysr stand. If u listen to patiyal all the songs sound like theepidiku style from arindhum ariyamalum,the high beat hip hop stuff even though the other song in that movie was gd, but thepidiku was the famous one, so the producer and the director said make all the songs in patiyal as that. Just when i tought stuff like this would end after the release of RDB GF.It looks like everytime HJ releases an album, ARR's album is seen as a measuring stick for comparison. No ARR fan would consider HJ's albumsas a ''masterpiece". He is good in his own way and i hv liked some of his songs but in no way he is comparable 2 our BOSS. ARR is not a personwho glorifies his success and fame instead he is a genius who constantlytries hard to give something different and has the guts to experiment with new and innovating stuff and he always if not everytime succeds in a big way. That's why people like him are known as trend-setters while others like HJ are trend-followers. I've said this before and i'm saying it again. Times change. What worked then may not work now. If those days ARR's songs was vry successful even when the films failed and he was the reason for many successful movies then, today the scenario hv changed. The reason 'suttum vizhi'became a hit was because of the films success as well as the good picturisation. hello friends, i am satwik. new member of this group. i am not a tamil but i still hear tamil songs just for a r rahman. i dont understand tamil. i heard some tamil songs of harris jayaraj and yuvan shankar raja. to be successful they have adapted rahmans style but i have noticed that their songs have the technology but no soul when compared to rahmans. even in technology rahman is miles ahead. yuvan shankar raja being illayaraja's son want to be like rahman, that's itself is a huge compliment to rahman. he even tries to sing like rahman. HI, why do you keep comparing HJ's new album to the ARR's. Just remember ARR has set a new trend and keeps on bringing new trends in music... Rest YSR or HJ they just follow him. Just bcos ARR is busy in his intl ventures he is not doing music for the mass. But just look around what he has done. Do you think somebody else will surpass? HJ might bring melody, YSR might bring chart busters but did they bring any new trend in music like what AR did with ROJA... they just missed. Do u think YSR or HJ's music will compete the Bollywood? Recently I saw HJ's VV poster he was posing in front of his equipments... So he is trying to sell himself showcasing his gadgets. But ARR's studio pics were sent across everywhere in mails. Guyz, Check out VV by HJ. Its not a bad album. But one can easily find out that his mind is completely filled with all ARR tracks and thats why in all his songs we can find traces of ARR's gems. Listen to Partha mudhal song and you will find the songs structure and melody being absolutely similar to Thenmerku song from karuthamma played at a lower tempo. Especially after the saxophone 2nd interlude, it gets so obvious. Also all his songs have hangovers from his own earlier songs. No doubt that Godfather is miles ahead in terms of variety and originality. I sincerely hope GF gets enough pubicity and stays in charts for a long time and doesnt get subdued by VV like how Ah AAh got with Gajini though it was superior album. im a bit surprised by your comments dude..how can you call vetaiyaadu vilaiyaadu a masterpiece..have you listened to it?it has all the same tunes from his previous movies like khaka khaka and ghajini..and if you hear the song Nerupaee closely you will notice that the main music beat is a straight lift from the song May Masam from the movie Jay Jay by Bharadwaj..if a guy copies from Bharadwaj who is a master copycat,it shows the standard of the composer..dont't get me wrong here,im not anti Hj infact vetaiyaadu vilaiyaadu is an album which ive been waiting for a long time because im a big fan of Gowtham Menon's product and his combination with Hj has produced 2 blockbusters..its just that dont compare hj with arr..godfather is a masterpiece and you must know that the movie and the music was delayed by more than a year so the songs timing should have been outdated but the songs still has that freshness in it only because of arr and his creativity.. long live arr I am a fan of ARRahman.He is a geat musician and some of the works like ,Indian,Rythm, Jeans and Taal is a masterpeice and cannot be touched by any musicians even now.But at the same time we have to accept the fact that he lost his old charm.What's the reason.Has he self satisfied with his working.I purchased God Father the songs are good but not great.But In contrast Vetiyadu Vilayadu by Harris is an absolute masterpeice and Godfather is going to lose in the show.Why this is Happening.A.R.rehman always leads in the competition but now it is a big .When Harris Jeyaraj can Score 'Sutrum Vizhi' why not rehman who has a better Talent than him.The Last Albumb he has done with Richness and Passion may be Lagaan followed by Boys, to some extend Kangalal Kaitu sei, rest are good but not great like before.Lets hope atleast SIVAJI will help him to capture the lost ground Explore, Experience, Enjoy A.R.Rahman - The Man, The Music, The Magic. Hi guys,I was just surfing the channels this morning and happened to see Sony Music where Sunali Rathod(For tamil music fans, she is the one who sang Yamunai Attrilae from Thalapathy for IR) was being interviewed. Finally she mentioned in her interview that she wants to sing for Rehmanji since he is the one who comes out with innovative music and showcases the singer's talent. Then she mentioned other MDs names but again in the last she mentioned again that its her longing wish to sing for ARR. This shows that when singers sing for ARR, they get instant recognition as well as full show case of their talents which other MDs may notice. Hi guys,I noticed this blatant tune lift - during my very first listening to Karka Karka song... The charanams (starting from 1:55) are straight from the "lay lay lay lay" bit (starting from 3:40) in Uppu karuvaadu song!!! hi guys, everyone will be remembering the Rendevous with simi garewal, in that boss sang the song "mast calander" hois favourite one that he thinks,he would have wanted to compose a song like that, i was listening to the instant karma remix of the song sung by Mehnaz. suddenly i got stuck with the line "jhindi da, sevd da sahi shaabaz kalander" which was really famililiar tune and it resembles the lines "anpukkani arichuvadi" of "vaarayo thozhi" from jeans. the whole song has feel of the mast calnder if not in the bgm. what do u think?...
