Invisiblehands help

2010-07-31 Thread Broadback
I would very much like to use invisible hands, but it will not work with
seamonkey, can someone help please? Will it work if I use the system for
emulating firefox? If so how do I do that, I have read the threads
associated with emulating firefox, I really can't understand it, they
seem very complicated to me. Anyway would it solve the problem? More and
more I seem to be encouraged to leave seamonky. :-(

What happens when you click the column headers?

Sorry,of course it does sort them alphabetically, I was confused because
some start http some https and some have www in front and others don't.
Much easier to find duplicates though, many thanks.

Access your password manager, click on show passwords, you will see
the list with the column headers - Site Username Password - clicking on
any one of the headers will sort the list alphabetically.

Apart from this (in my 2.04 SeaMonkey) when managing password there is
a search
facility.
Very handy.

I think SM installation file should attempt to install as administrator

I logged in as Admin, on opening SeaMonkey I found there was no profile.
So I took the opportunity to create a new News Eternal, this worked

Problem with Windows 7 and SeaMonkey

2010-05-28 Thread Broadback
I have recently purchased a new computer that runs under Windows 7, my
previous one ran XP. I am having quite a few compatibility problems,
primarily with Canon problems, who blithely tell me that they do not
support Windows 7 on their products that I have, so goodbye Canon!

However, to the point, I am also having problems with SeaMonkey which
are intermittent and varying. The browser is fine but email and News
Eternal give problems. I have a number of email addresses, to test the
system, I sent emails from one to another. Periodically some of these
are shunted into my junk folder, very unpredictable, so I am worried
that I may lose some genuine emails this way.

Now, News Mozilla works fine, however News Eternal September is a pain
in the derriere. Some time it works fine then others it asks me for
Server Username and or Password, It may ask for this a number of times
then fail, or work.

I Installed SeaMonkey new and copied the profile using Mozbackup. I have
repeated this a number of times to no avail, even making fresh copies
from my original computer. Any suggestions please? I don't want to erase
SeaMonkey completely and start afresh as I have lots of passwords, which
I would lose

Ok, let me rephrase the question more precisely.

From what application on your old computer are you wanting to transfer
your mail, etc. to what application on the new computer?

Seamonkey ? version to Seamonkey ? version .. Important to know that
information.

For instance, are you going from Seamokey 1.x to 2.x ??

Sorry I,m a bit um thick. I want to have SeaMonkey on my new machine, so
it is old m/c to new m/c both SeaMonkey. The current version i have is
2.0.1 which I will want to install on the new machine. the old is
Windows XP the new one is Windows 7, cheers

Is this happening on this server, another server all servers?

I would say check your account settings, but we need more information to

This is happening on my ISP (Kinda) Server. I connect via Verizon but
support efn.org a local grassroots organization that provides internet
service.

Anyway I don't have the settings requiring authorization on connecting
and I'm using port 119 and the connection security selection is none.

Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit
DSL 128K
Seamonkey 2.0.2

So far as I know, Verizon has discontinued newsgroup access, so your
answer does not compute ;)

In SM 2.0.2, you must have at least one newsgroup account set up. For
example, to post here, one would expect that you ahve an account set up
for news.mozilla.org. You may have others, there are several free and
paid news servers out there, but Verizon no longer supplies one.

So, on which account or accounts are you ahving this problem? Is it here
on news.mozilla.org, on another account, or on all accounts?

Lee
I use News Eternal-September and it happened to me,. I fiddle and
fiddled, in the end it started to work. Sadly I had b*ggered about so
much I don't know what actually cured it. Initially I put in the correct
name and password, but it still failed.

Then select your SMTP server and press 'Edit'.

At least that's the only thing I can conclude from imported e-mail

Your comment is useful as a better way to work around the problem, but

Surely the easiest way is to start composing an email, click on spell.
On the bottom of the window opened click on Language, this then gives

you download your required one then load it straight into SeaMonkey.
Next time you open Mail and select spell you can select the language of
