message size exceeding feature request
Hi All - when using the "Receive header only if message size is greater than ... " feature for mail management, I think it would be nice to have another button to then retrieve this mail should you want to. Euroda can do this, not that I'll start using that again. At present all you get is ... A message with the size exceeding 1000 K bytes limit has arrived to your address - the message number on the server is 3152. Please take care of it by yourself I don't want to take care of it myself :-) Regards Sean Current beta is 1.63b11 | "Using TBBETA" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

For example, if the date and time on your desktop and laptop are not perfectly synchronized (highly likely :), then the messages on the desktop and laptop will have slightly different Received and/or Created dates. This might lead to them not being recognized as duplicates. When you want to check if two messages are the same, you should first do View Source, and then Save As from there. It will slightly differ from the output you get when you do Save As directly from the normal message viewer. pgp0.pgp Description: PGP signature Current beta is 1.63b11 | "Using TBBETA" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Some time around 7/30/2003 06:53:08, I think I heard Allie Martin say: > So how about it? :) Will the v2 do away with this restriction? Hello, IMHO, the interface gets messy when the configuration windows are not modal (i.e. you loose focus of the configuration window and have to play the "hunt that window" game with the task mngr or CTRL+TAB or something :) Not to mention that it can cause some race conditions between the regular interface and the options being edited, so a lot more thought must be put in locking certain functions and not others so that the interface is not "locked". This might offer a nice convenience for some limited, non critical functions, but the increase in complexity and UI clumsiness might not be worth it. -dZ. -- :[ DZ vs. THE WORLD]==- -- - - Hating anything, everything and everyone since 1996. -- Current beta is 1.63b11 | "Using TBBETA" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Configuration panels locking the inteface
Hi all, I'm hoping that one of these days, opening a configuration panel will no longer lock out the rest of the TB! interface from user input. I've found this to be a surprising shortcoming in an application that's supposed to be so well multi-threaded. How many of you often wish to have a configuration panel open while doing something else? Wouldn't it be nice to be able to have the editor opened for two quick templates or two filter sets? It would make copying and pasting as well as comparing etc. much easier. Another common reason is during support situations. You wish to write exactly what a configuration panel option is labelled as saying. There are other situations too. I can't count the many times I have to remind myself that I have to close the configuration panel before I can do anything else. Mail comes in while I'm tackling a quick template or filter rule. Oh, I have to save the quick template or filter rule before I can check my mail. Argh! I guess I have to keep reminding myself that I have to close configuration panels because I don't have to do so with many of the other apps I use. So how about it? :) Will the v2 do away with this restriction? -- -= allie_M =- | List Moderator TB! v1.63 Beta/11 on WinXP Pro (SP1) pgp0.pgp Description: PGP signature Current beta is 1.63b11 | "Using TBBETA" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Bug? The latter is most certainly not a bug. The quick search is a feature that allows for quickly locating messages in the message list by typing a keyword from the subject or part of the author's name. I forgot to mention that TB does indeed execute the filter that I set the Ctrl-Alt-s combo for. In addition, the quick search pops up. I've now checked in an editor what, if anything, this combo produces and it results in the German sz-symbol: ß A feature of the quicksearch is that it automatically erases characters from the input-window that no longer result in a match. Indeed, the list of messages that I was in when doing this, doesn't contain any messages with subjects or authors containing the ß, so the behaviour of the quicksearch is proper. However, if I tell TB to use a certain key-combo to process a filter, I expect the action to end there and don't expect it to still produce the character that invokes the quick search. Hence my conclusion that there is a bug here of some kind. -- Greetings, Maurice Using The Bat! v1.63 Beta/11 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 1 Current beta is 1.63b11 | "Using TBBETA" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
