You must set up family sharing first before the option to sign up for the
family plan will appear. Go to settings > iCloud to get started.

Re: Send space question

2015-07-04 Thread Victor Gouveia

Hi Terri,

I'm afraid that the only way to do this is to use an app called the Send
Space wizard for iPhone, but your iPhone must be Jailbroken in order to
access the above app.

I'm not sure if you need a pro account with Send Space or not, but I do know
that the app is not available for iPhones that are not Jailbroken.

It's been a while since I tried it on Safari, but you might want to try that
route.

Sorry about that.

If you want write off list so we can talk about it and save cluttering

For example Radio lets you listen to Beats 1 Radio as well as Apple

Transferring Music From My Pc to My Phone Question

2015-07-04 Thread Arnold Schmidt
It use to be, that when my phone was connected, I would arrow down to music,
then tab over to the tree views of either artists, or albums, go to the one I
wanted, check the box, and synch my phone. But now those tree views of artists
and albums do not show up.I went into settings/music on my phone, and found
that iCloud music is on. Being that I thought turning it off would restore
those tree views, I tapped that button. It then told me that if I turned it
off, all the music would be removed from my phone. What is going on? Can I no
longer transfer music from my pc to my phone?

Thanks in advance for any information.

When I open the music app and play a song or album, then close the music app
in app switchers it does not replay the song I was playing .

IMHO, there aren't tons of articles on the web that are going to deal
with accessibility issues surrounding the iPhone and it's apps, so I
don't think the list is meaningless. However, there are tons of articles
though that do answer questions like how much something costs, what do
you get with Apple Music and other questions that have nothing to do
with accessibility.

One thing I have heard that is quite dismaying is that when you turn on
iCloud Music Library, your library can get messed up. People have said
that
albums were split into two separate albums, that artwork was messed up,
and

other not nice things. Someone even said that iTunes had deleted their
songs, and replace them with ones that had DRM. On hearing all these not
great comments about iCloud Music Library, I plan to avoid it for a while
until Apple gets their crap together. They seem to have problems with
cloud
stuff. I heard that iCloud Drive had issues as well. I don't know what
they

are/were, but when I heard that, especially from the developer of Voice
Dream Reader, I planned to avoid that, as well.

Bard app again

2015-07-04 Thread Jennie Facer
Hi gang,

I was reading Braille and all ofa sudden got a text message. I replied and then
lost my place in the book. Is there a way to easily find it again? That made me
angry. I see the position thing as far as the audio goes, but I can't find
anything regarding the Braille side. Any ideas?

I'm not sure how you subscribed to this calendar, but try going into
Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Subscribed Calendars and double
tapping on the calendar you want to delete. You'll see a delete account
button at the bottom of that screen.

RE: Pop-up blocking in Safari

2015-07-04 Thread Kramlinger, Keith G., M.D.
Thanks. It appears to be a universal app for iPhone and iPad.

Some mixed reviews, it appears, but those who love it seem to really love it.
Worth a try. Seems the Pro version (in app upgrade) is on sale now.

Re: How do you get your complete list of available apps to show up

2015-07-04 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I think you're asking how to do this on the PC. I don't know how to do
that myself, but on the phone, you can go into the App Store, double tap
on the Updates tab and then double tap the word "Purchased" at the top
of the screen. All of the apps you've ever purchased will be listed, and
you can double tap the install or get button next to each to reinstall
it on your device. I'm sure you can do this through iTunes on your PC,
but I've just never done that before.

Re: iCloud music library

2015-07-04 Thread Mary Otten
Hi Harry,
I can't answer the question you asked about how you're going to get your music
back on your Mac. But I am curious that you said you enabled iCloud music. I
just checked on my Mac and it seems iCloud music is enabled for me as well. But
I did not enable it. Did you have to enable it? I do have iTunes match
subscription still. Perhaps that is why iCloud music is enabled? I can't find
iTunes match anywhere anymore. But I still have the subscription according to
my subscriptions in iTunes. I just can't find anything about updating iTunes
match. And I don't think all of my music was uploaded to the cloud. At least, I
never heard any sort of activity or had my machine slow down or anything like
that. How did you know your music was uploading? I have not asked the new music
feature to put anything into my library. So I truly do hope that nothing is
screwed up. The only thing I have added to my library since this new Apple
music feature came on where things I actually bought from the iTunes store.

Is there another way around this since I also have noone here to read the

Re: Are all the artists albums listed in the music app?

2015-07-04 Thread Tom Lange
Hi,
In many cases, I've seen a limited selection of albums for many artists. The
way I've gotten around that is to search for an artist and put in part of an
album name. More often than not the album that I want will show up. For
example, when I searched for Jimi Hendrix, it only showed some greatest hits
compilations, but when I searched for Are You Experienced, Axis Bold as Love,
Cry of Love and some other titles, nearly each one came up.

I've had great fun adding all sorts of stuff to the library, and I've got a lot
more that I want to add.

Subject: Are all the artists albums listed in the music app?

Hello, here's yet another question about the new music service. I'm really
enjoying this so far. I'm adding albums to my list that I have on lp, but I
know that over half of my vinyl will not be on iTunes, but that's fine. I'm
wondering, combined with the discussion of the voiceover bug that skips text,
if there's a next page of results, or if not all of an artists catalog is
listed in the music service. For instance, I checked an artist named David
Munyon. The music service listed a few albums, but I was sure there were more.
I check on the Apple tv, which doesn't yet use the new service, and the store
results show several more albums. I know that certain artists don't have any of
their catalog on the new service, but are some electing to put only partial
catalogs on, or am I missing a next page button somewhere?
  Thanks,
  Matthew

Hi,

I still can't get the hang of using auto-correct. When I tap the word I

better to use predictive? That doesn't seem to work for me either. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes, of course they should speak when you touch them otherwise how can you
know what you touch/type? So are you saying Voiceover works, but when the
keyboard pops up you don’t get any feedback when you slide your finger around
the screen? Have you tried to reboot the device?

Is this with the onscreen keyboard or a bluetooth keyboard? I guess either
way you should check Voiceover Settings and Typing Feedback, that is the only
place I can think of. Here you can set if you want typing feedback to be None,
Character, Word or both Character and Word. You can set this individually for
the virtual and external keyboards. Maybe his is set to None in which case,
however, Voiceover should still speak each letter as you touch it, it just
won’t speak it a second time when you release it.

Pop-up blocking in Safari

2015-07-04 Thread Kramlinger, Keith G., M.D.
Hi,

My sighted wife is annoyed by frequent pop-ups when viewing Safari on her iPad.

I'm not bothered by pop-ups, much, when using VO in Safari on my iPhone.

Maybe she just goes to advertising-rich websites, but are there ways to block
pop-ups in safari that folks know about? Does VO somehow protect us from pop-up
advertising?

Thanks in advance. Keith

still not possible to change fb status

2015-07-04 Thread Davy Cuppens

Hi folks

With the newest update of fb I can still not manage to change my fb status.
If i open the status screen in Dutch waar denk je aan translated where are
you thinking of voiceover makes that screen completely inaccessible. I only
hear clicks of empty screen touches en when flicking to the left whereever I
flick I here the time and all the stuff in the status bar but there is no
button to click even the cancel button is nolonger accessible here. I tested
the app with an ipad3 and i admit that with that ipad the app is acting
normally and accessible but not for my iPhone 5s. It cannot be that there is
a defect or damage on my device because really all other apps are acting
fine and normal without any malfunctioning.
I can confirm that it is really an app bug with voiceover and I can't do
anything to it that most people do not experience this bug. However I know
one Belgian blind person having the same issues as me.
If I turn off voiceover and click the left side of the iphone at the home
button level and start VO again, I can change my status because with the
help of sighted people I really clicked the status area and after that, VO
acts normally so with this it is a proofed bug for me.

Are there any people that can confirm this bug in fb 34.0 for Iphones?
Regards
Davy

For me, I prefer the links. I want to see the most recent up to date
text and also read up on any comments or reviews that might also be on
the web site or follow any links to order the product or get more
information. Cutting and pasting the text of a web page, and then
cleaning it up to be readable in an email message, is also more work for
the poster, and I'd rather have access to the information then not see
it at all because someone doesn't have the time to post this information.

Re: A Definite Step Backwards for AudioBook Listeners in iOS 8.4 iBooks

I've seen a few podcasts in M4A which is (AFAIK) an Apple audio format for
MP3. But the majority of podcast files are .mp3.

Hello Keith,

Generally speaking, there is no specific Apple-designated file extension for
podcast files. Ifyou think about it, such an extension would work against
Apple as most podcasters publish their podcast episodes using .mp3.

To manually designate a .mp3 (music) file as a podcast, do the following:

1.
Open iTunes on your computer.

2.
Import the desired .mp3 file or files. They will appear in the Music area
of your iTunes Library.

3.
Locate the file or files and select them either one at a time or in a group.

4.
Now, right-mouse click on the selected file or files. A list box will
appear.

5.
Select Get Info. A multi-tab dialog box will appear.

6.
Select the Options tab.

7.
In the Media Kind drop-down list box, select Podcast.

8.
Save the changes. The file or files will now be moved, and consequently
listed in the Podcast area of your iTunes library.

Good Luck,

Mark

What's the file extension for podcast files? i.e. .m4a for audio, .m4b for
books, .m4r for ringtones, etc.

Thanks, Keith

Hello Frank,

Thank you so much for your very thoughtful reply and for your precisely
stated options.

As I posted in a different thread, my solution to this conundrum is to
simply tag the files as I normally would but, under the media type, select
Podcast rather than Audiobook.

Given that I do not use the native iOS podcast app for listening to actual
podcast, choosing instead to use DownCast, the podcast area of my iTunes
library is completely empty of any live podcast feeds. Consequently, all I
see when I open this area of iTunes is the list of books.

After syncing to my iOS device, launching the native podcast app displays
all of my manually created audiobooks. Single-finger double-tapping on any
of the books results in each title being displayed just as it used to be
displayed in iOS 8.3 and earlier.

While I have no objection to third-party apps, I really do try to use as
many native iOS apps as possible.

It took over a year or so but I have finally found a practival use for the
native podcast app (smile).

Thank you again for your help on this.

Happy Listening,

Mark

1. Juli 2015 08:52:17 UTC+2 M. Taylor:

So, for example, I have three episodes from the Beyond Midnight radio
series. The three titles are Let me See Your Face, Fortieth Birthday, and
The Room. These are .mp3 files that, after being imported into iTunes, I
change their media type to Audio Book. Now because I have them tagged as
Beyond Midnight, under the Album field, in the Title field, I can list the
actual episode names as listed above.

In iOS 8.3 and earlier, after syncing to my iOS device, I would then simply
select Audiobooks from within the native music app, and then I would see
Beyond Midnight listed as a single book. After single-finger double-tapping
on the title, I would then see each episode listed by name.

No longer.

To my complete dismay, I now discover that in iOS 8.4, the iBooks app does
not list the individual episodes by names or chapter titles but simply list
them as tracks.

This means that when I now select Beyond Midnight, under contents, all I see
are track 1, track 2, and track 3.

Try as I may, I cannot figure out how to get each episode listed by its
episode title or chapter heading.

If any of you have discovered a tagging method that will allow for the
individual chapter titles to be respected in audiobooks, in the iBooks app,
please post.

I have exactly the same problem with audio books being handled by the ibooks
app on IOS 8.4.

As long as Apple won't display track names instead of track numbers (and I
fear they won't at all) I see only two approaches to solve this problem:

1)
Tag all audio book files as music so that they will be displayed in the
music app. Although this seems to solve your problem the drawback is that
your music library gets cluttered with audio bo

2015-07-04 Thread Jen Colley
Hi,
I have an iPhone 5c running ios 8.4
On Wednesday I noticed I had 4 app updates.
I chose to update them all and waited. My phone after each app kept saying
connecting. This happened without any change over a day or so.
Then I closed the app store and reopened and then I saw cancil update after
each update but no percentage was given.
I then thought maybe I was running low on memory so deleted a bunch of apps and
tried again but still the same things are happening.
I have rebooted the phone several times with no difference. A friend also
suggested updating the apps manually choosing the largest one first but I tried
that last night and this morning it said it was still connecting.
Thanks in advance if you can help.

Re: Follow-up about serious VoiceOver bug in iOS 8.4

2015-07-04 Thread Craig Werner
Hello,Mark and everyone.

With the font text size slider set to 50% and "Reduce Motion" set to
"on," I'm still getting skipping. My network is AT&T, and I'm using
an iPhone 5 running iOS 8.3. A good example of this is the "report
spam" button in the Gmail app. The only way to find this item is by a
careful review of the screen. I realize this is not a native app,but
I'm wondering if some buttons and functions are programmed differently
and are hence not showing up via VoiceOver. Unfortunately, I can't
verify the presence of the visual display cursor Mark noted.

that this problem is appearing in many more places, including Email

I've discovered that often, when using a swipe right or swipe left

 Thanks all.
