experience windows 98 clients love WINS and don't like dns so much. Try not

I am having a similar situation, moved to SP3, changed the server roles to a clean
installed machine. I think however that my situation has to do with AD DNS and moving
it to the master server that is now in charge of all the roles. For some reason it
seems that my 9.X clients only want to use
I agree, you can always keep a domain name the same on all VPN clients.
If you ever need to change the ip or move the hardware used by the VPN
you won't have to change it on the client side, the domain name will
simply resolves to the new ip when you change it in DNS. Makes a lot
