Great idea Prasad!!! 1947 is definitely one of the greatest gems from

Haven't you heard Shankar Jaikishan using Accordian in Awara,

harmonica in Aradhana, Jatin Lalit using piano in Pehla Nasha, Vishal

No offense taken.
Just a few points -->
one: as you already pointed out, many times singers are taken based on
their availability. I do realize that Udit has really cutback on his
singing assignments, maybe as he realizes that people expect 'newer'
or 'hip' voices, or to make way for his son.
t
ved can be seen in 'Jaane' from Chameli. Udit had
truly shown why he is rated as one of the best singers.
Oh well, I am glad that overall the album is a masterpiece, though -
Udit - you are truly missed.

Personally, I would love for Farhan Aktar to work with Rahman,
ideally with Aamir in the movie, and Gulzar or Parsoon Joshi with the

I have read various articles where JL have acknowledged Rahman's music

More over, I also fail to see the need of bringing such cynicism to

For me:
1. Maya Maya -- never before heard fusion of Arabic and Gujarati folk.
Once you get past the accent of Tottler, its really catchy and
wonderful. Intrinsic layering including chorus harmonies make it even
more fun to listen again and again.

I do also feel that Daler is the best person to sing the track.
The youthfullness of the song is mostly a result of the tune and
