Cake offers the same functionality, it is well documented in every
book. Basically you crater a field called created or updated as a

Cricket's way isn't the best way to do it in cake.
What you should do is make use is the afterSave callback in the user
model.

out to your web host. If it is missing cake is going to use its
default layout which is going to have the headers etc set for html/

xdebug?
Btw. check your debug output level (Configure::read()) in that
controller function, maybe it'll be set to null and pr() doesn't
output right values.
