Can someone tell Hugo now back in Nepal that it is likely that he can borrow
the Yaesu 2100B linear I left with 9N1AA for use. It may need the RF input
coils correctly adjusted to get it to drive properly.

I was lucky to be one of the USA hams chosen and licensed to test out the 5
Meg. band for possible ham use. I have operated it and can say it will be a
good band especially to take pressure on USA rag chewing, I HOPE, off of
squeezed old 40M.

Yep, I received .80 cents for each IRC in the form of stamps of my choice of
face values. (Even those IRCs dated before the price increase of them!!!).
This is really better than my stocks' performances!
I must say the P. O. clerks really got into the fun of counting all those
IRCs.

I took 293 IRC coupons to my local Post Office (USA) and cashed them in for
stamps (no cash refund allowed) with very little delay. The clerks huddled
about proper procedure, but then gave me stamps, fully redeeming my IRCs.

HS can not get on 6 meters.
HS Freqs for 80 meters are 3 kc. each centered on 3.525 and 3.535 and
allowed only during CQ contests. Both CW and SSB are allowed on those
freqs.
Many newer ham rigs are not type approved for use in HS, depending on bands
covered or not covered by those rigs

To date, several responses... all positive.
Couple of guys traveled in Carribean ok with no hassles at check in with
radios in carry ons.
One famous DXer traveled ok with carry-on with lots of wire and batteries,
etc.
Another made bright suggestion of checking with the airline before
departure.
DXers... could you email your method ...now after fateful day of
9-11... of carrying ham radios via commercial airliners?
I. E.:
1. hand carry-on now too difficult?
2. checked luggage carrying radio worked out ok or was radio stolen from
bags or was it damaged?

Looking at a DX address in qrz.com has led some ops to mistakenly address
their QSLs to me.
I operated in Thailand, but my QSL address is in the USA. However, qrz.com
shows my address correctly in the USA but the line of information

worked PW0S (or at least a pirate)on 15 SSB and 40 CW but got back my QSL
saying "not in log" for both contacts. At least they QSLed my 17m contact
with them. Heavy duty frustration!!!
