The 5000 and the 3000 are great sdr radios.. I have a 5000 and love it...
You can get a used 5000 now for the price of a new 3000 and it has a
slightly better receiver, quieter fan, more antenna ports, etc. But since
the software for both is the same, the features in software are identical.

Yep, the panadapter is wonderful... So easy to spot where the dx is
listening... One of the best features of the 5K. Skill can make up for a
poor antenna but it is probably pretty good on 30 meters..

Has anyone else noticed any problems with the new firmware version 1.1.4?
I have noticed the last 2 nights that upon transmitting ssb on 20 meters, the
receiver will not receive when PTT released. It will still xmit but no
incoming audio. The only way to cure the problem is rebooting the 5K.
ED, this is the problem I was having on 80 meters exactly. The 5K would
have no output at all about 1 out of 5 times it was keyed either on cw or
ssb or tune.
It seemed to have getting worse and I noticed on the bargraph of my external
wattmeter the output was not constant even when the 5K key
I notice on the keymap.pdf for the keyboard functions for PowerSDR that F1 - F5
are for cw memories 1 - 5. Is this function supposed to send memory contents.
