Hmm. I'm highly curious.
The 240 I currently have on the road is running well but the body
metal keeps getting thinner. Soon I'll need to do something..
I can't say for sure but the forward speed under power is only about 35 mph.
If there is a flat spot ahead you can glide it in for a rolling landing on
the wheels. The airframe is pretty light so a vertical landing should be
like sport parachuting with the airframe absorbing much of the impact.

Yes. In being driven around town, my host pointed out several buildings

As older homes upgrade to gas or get torn down, there will be less use for
heating oil. There are also issues with sources of oil. Venezuelan crude is
crap for motor fuel, but much better for diesel and kerosene. The stuff we
produce in Texas and such is light sweet, Really nice for gasolin

Not a real problem to have a controlled burn in an area like that. We had one

I wish we could do controlled burns, but I don't think you could do
it in a large wooded subdivision of mostly one to five acre lots

Diesel is $3.70 - $3.80 here, same as premium gas.
However, the economics don't matter in most cases, Diesel rocks and gas
sucks. It's about the inherent superiority of Diesel technology over spark
ignited gasoline. Mechanical elegance and all that.

Boy this one took a long time to show up in digest. It bugged me all the way
home since I knew I'd made an error. Obviously $4.05 - 3.70 isn't 0.75, its
0.35. Then on the way home I noticed gas was $3.55, so its actually $.50

I'm not sure why, as later models used an external microswitch to sense the

Last I checked diesel was $4.05 and gas was $3.70, thats a difference of $0.75,
so diesel is 20% more expensive than gas. Diesel fuel has about 30% more energy
than gas so you pay 20 to get 30.
In the Dodge pickup the difference is important, people will say "the diesel is
