A Pink-footed Goose was found late Sunday 12/16/18 at 4pm on the Queens
County CBC on Marcus Ave. in Lake Success. It was on the ball field on the
north side of the street between Lakeville Rd. and New Hyde Park Rd. with a
flock of Canada Geese. This is in Nassau County.

Pink footed goose found by Arie Gilbert in field east of Roanoke Ave in
Riverhead was present with flock of Canada's until 4:05pm, when it flew
towards the south with two Canada's.

I went back at around 4:45pm and was at the VCP Parade Grounds to about 5pm and
the Pink-footed Goose was there and easy to see. The flock was smaller than
this am and the Snow Goose was gone, but the Pink-footed was there, nice. A
beautiful bird.

Hi all,
My mom and I were able to relocate the PINK-FOOTED GOOSE this afternoon
between 2 and 3 this afternoon at the Kings Park High School, where it was
with roughly 200 Canada Geese.
We were unable to locate either the Cackling or Barnacle Goose in this
flock, and although we did not check Sun

Mechanicsville as yesterday, now in median of parking lot in front of Toys-R-Us
with 10 or so Canada Geese.

I wanted to update the status of the PfG for anyone considering
searching for it this weekend. To my knowledge, the bird was last seen on
Wednesday morning by Rob Bate and Rich Fried.
It is very possible that this bird is still around and has just not been
relocated y

As of 7:40 AM, the Pink-footed Goose was NOT present in the Holtsville soccer
field.
I decided I'd try for it in my way into work. When I arrived, Rob Bate and Rich
Fried were already on the scene working there way through a small flock of
Canada Geese.

I was able to get a few decent photos of the Pink-footed Goose in
Holtsville this evening. If you go and are interested in getting a little
closer for photography without making all of the birds fly and walk away
there's a fence that runs along the eastern sides of the field and for the
most part
I spent an hour shuttling between the Medford Athletic Park and the
Holtsville field (Suffolk Co.) this morning (7:00-8:00 AM) as geese
continued to fly in from the south and east, but the Pink-footed Goose
was not among the 120 or so Canadas at Holtsville or the 40 or so at

As Rob Bate reported yesterday, he and I were fortunate to find the Pink-footed
Goose in Middletown in a shopping center parking lot near the site where it was
originally discovered. I was able to get a handful of digi-binned photos before
the goose took off. For those interested the photos can

at. The first report said it's Lake Success. But if you put Lake Success in
Google map, you get a lake that is north of the Northern State Parkway (NSP).

On the Parade Grounds field adjacent to Broadway, north of about West
246 Street, I found a Pink-footed Goose, in amongst well over 1,000

This evening from 3:20 to dusk Samantha Holschbach and I searched without
success for the Pink-footed Goose at Sunken Meadow State Park. We found a
flock of 65 Canadas on the edge of a closed parking lot; that was it for goose
activity. It seems we've missed this bird by one day. No Accipit
Samantha Holschbach and I saw the PINK-FOOTED GOOSE at the Kings Park High
School baseball field at 10:30 AM. It was in a flock of about 120 Canadas.
For over an hour before that we searched Sunken Meadow State Park but did not
see a Cackling Goose among the 130 or so Canadas. Most of th

Ben Cacace's posting of yesterday's NYC Area RBA Report was enough for me
to not start painting our kitchen set, which I sanded yesterday, while ?
found the above ! Once there, (~1015) it didn't take long to find the
Pink-footed, which was on the far side (looking from between the 1st & 2nd
houses
One of the Pink-footed Geese is currently in the field on the north side of
Reeve's Ave, just east of Roanoke Ave, in a flock of about 750 Canadas. Quite
a bit of heat distortion.
A single Greater White-fronted Goose and a Cackling Goose were seen in the
southernmost field on the east side of

My father just sent me a picture of a Pink-footed Goose at Valley Stream's
Hendrickson Park, sitting with a small group of Canada's on the eastern shore
of the lake. Getting the word out since I'm not around to chase. Props to Papa
Healy!

Among the migration activity today at Fort Tilden, Queens were some very
high migrating Canada Goose flocks. Looking at one small group, I noticed
one that seemed out of whack. I managed to get some pictures that I could

The Pink-footed Goose continues with one Snow Goose at Van Cortlandt Park.
Upon first arriving at the Parade ground a small dog flushed up the flock
making them vacate the field. After tracking the group I found that all of
the geese have found refuge in the baseball field next to the Stadium.

The Pink-footed goose found in December on the Montauk CBC continues at the
Montauk Downs golf course. The bird is feeding with numerous Canada geese and 3
Snow geese as viewed from the cart path at hole #1.

For what it's worth, the 3 Pink-feet in Cumberland, Maine were still
present this morning, so this clearly a different (fourth) bird.
Good photos of the bill might help us to determine if this is a
returning bird or not. Also, I encourage folks to post updates on the

Sunken Meadow State Park on the athletic fields on the East side of the main
entrance road (after the toll booths and before crossing the bridge over Sunken

In late morning, 2 immature Iceland Gulls on beach at Road L, along Dune Road
west of Ponquogue Bridge, and 3 at Shinnecock, just west of inlet; also 3 Snowy
Owls seen from road, one on the large sandbar north and slightly west of the
Inlet. I then searched at length for the Pink-footed Goose ,
