Re: (313) what's up with Ultradyne?
I'm calling this a hiatus. In Mimai I was out and about too much to do anything; enjoying the sun for a while. I move up to North Carolina 2 years ago and haven't had the space (small condo downtown with sensitive neighbors). I once got a noise complaint whilst watching Law and Order. :) Once I get situated in the correct environs, we shall see. I'm moving to Puerto Rico soon, so hopefully that will provide the happy medium. I have been thinking about it more lately though. The whole ordeal left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I'll spare the details. Re: (313) final post from me
Buy me a ticket and I'll be there this weekend. We can talk about our kids and take turns punching each other a la Fight Club. :) I've been wanting to visit Pittsburgh again, and haven't been in a while. Is that club called Rosebud still open? I think that was the name. It was attached to another club that played techno. Fun spot..all the strippers hung out there on Sunday. Peace, Alex - Original Message From: "Thomas D. Agreed, but S/N ratio is a bit overwhelming, if you get my meaning. Re: Re: (313) Richie Interview
I really like that CD. Was one of the reasons for me really getting heavily into electronic music. There's one point where a nice little rhythms bubbling along and all cuts out for a little rhodes chord. Can understand peoples frustration if they are familiar with the tracks used but all props to him for what must have been a time consuming and all absorbing project. Wasn't all that when i saw him DJ in Leeds bout 6 months ago but his set at Sankey's that was recorded for the essential mix was absolutely belting, bring back old Sankeys. -Original Message- From: robin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Wed, 14 Nov 2007 16:40:59 + Subject: Re: (313) Richie Interview > > What Richie does on CE is pulls apart all of our references and > then asks > us to have, or whether we have, the same vested interest in those > elements. > I can imagine that's why CE doesn't do it for some. > The best bit is the Der Zyklus track for me. (313) Track IDs - Derrick May, Saunderson, Omars, DJ Miles

Tried to work this out to no avail any help really appreciated. http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/4/4/954300/Track%20ID%20Two%20-%20Universal%20Techno.mp3 This Omar S is a track three i think from the O+N Detroit so i imagine its one of his own. Not even sure if its been released but anything about it would be cool http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/4/4/954300/O%20%2B%20N%20Detroit%202.mp3 Final one is from the DJ Miles Boomkat Mix Tape. Re: (313) the scene
The Scene was a local dance show in Detroit. It aired on channel 62, a UHF station (WGPR). It was reborn as The New Dance Show. You used to run into the dancers downtown (particularly Greektown). Re: Re: (313) Mills!!!!!
i went to the Ae, LFO, Surgeon gig. Sound and lighting was alot better, much clearer and louder but quietened down towards the end. The stage wasn't lit really brightly like previous gigs which gave it a darker feel and added to the atmosphere. The system's fine and more than capable of filling the room effectively, it's environmental noise that are making them limit the sound. Shame really, the Sequence lads have put on decent shows but the Warehouse promoters should've really checked this kinda stuff out before they embarked on such a big project. (313) Detroit Techno Militia Launches Record Label
Label signs 2-3 year deal in conjunction with Cratesavers Muzik. Detroit, MI. (July 15, 2006) - Detroit Techno Militia, headquartered in Detroit, MI, has announced a working production deal with Cratesavers Muzik, a record label founded by the legendary Trackmasta Lou of SCAN7 and Posatronix formerly of AUX88. Detroit Techno Militia launched the label to display the latent talent within the militia. With the likes of their self-termed soldiers, the militia is unstoppable said Mike Harmon, long time DTM supporter and electronic music aficionado. Forming a record label is the next step they needed to take after building their solid reputation in Detroit and around the world. Detroit Techno Militia, a driving force in Detroits techno music community, founded the record label as a sub-label of Cratesavers Muzik. The partnership will combine distribution, management and the experience of the larger label with the clean proprietary design and attitude that has come to distinguish DTM as a major contemporary force in the battle against sub-par music and performances. Their in your face style of producing and DJing will surely raise eyebrows around and throughout the techno music community. The take no prisoners attitude towards their music helps the militia to advance and spread the gospel of the music that inspires them, and that will surely speak volumes. The much anticipated DTM-001 release is slated to include tracks from Der Mercenary, Loner9 and Sougon and will showcase the techno, electro and industrial genres, says Angela Schwendemann, label manager and founding member of the Detroit Techno Militia. Future releases will contain material from all contributing members of DTM and cover a broad musical spectrum. Working with Cratesavers Muzik will afford me the opportunity to learn more about the record industry and what it takes to run a successful label, says Schwendemann. The expertise and contribution of time from Cratesavers Muzik will help make us more successful, which will ultimately allow us to further our mission. We strongly believe this partner ship will continue the solid Detroit tradition says Trackmasta Lou, CEO of Cratesavers Muzik. The DTM crew will definitely be a force to be reckoned with. About Cratesavers Muzik Cratesavers Muzik was founded by Trackmasta Lou (of Scan 7 fame), and Posatronix aka B.J. (formerly of AUX88). As two of the hardest working producers and performers in Detroits electronic music battleground, and with over 30 years of combined record-making experience, the two joined forces to create and manage what they believe a record label should be. The label is dedicated to promoting and preserving the vinyl art of DJing. The records produced by Cratesavers Muzik are strictly for seasoned DJs who have accepted the mission to overthrow the collective of weak track dropping DJs. Refusing to pigeonhole their sound selection; Cratesavers accepts demos of all electronic genres. The minimal requirements are good music, and the talent can play in live analog. About Detroit Techno Militia Detroit Techno Militia was established as a grass roots DJ/Producer collective on a mission to promote Detroit Electronic Music around the world. All members are deeply inspired by Detroit's' techno history and work closely with several of Detroits most influential DJs and producers. Members include Andy Hegler, Annix, Dan Lucas, Darkcube, Der Mercenary, Dimitri Pike, Doc, Loner9, Mitch Walcott, Neil V., Sougon and T.Linder. .. Love him or hate him, I 100% agree with Tom's statements. All of them. I was in shock when I entered at the lack of people. I don't care what the numbers say. I've been there every year, as many as you have, and it was significantly emptier than any other year. Whatever the reason for this are inconsequential. The fact is that it was emptier. Ok, here goes quiz fans. Which cow's bell did Mr R.Oland sample for the cowbell on the 808??? I'll give you a clue. this cow also featured on a famous soft cheese package. very famous cow. rumour has it that derrick may ran round a field after a cow with a large boom microphone to try and sample it, with the members of YMO doing a kind of pincer movement to capture the cow. "HOLD STILL FOR THE JAPANESE GENTLEMEN" but I don't know if thats true. p.s. ralf from kraftwerk cycled all the way to switzerland to sample a cows bell near geneva.
