Tom, I really didn't want to have to carry this on any longer than it needs to. I am not sure which bit of my original e-mail you didn't understand; I was commenting on the fact that *you* felt the need to correct *me* (incorrectly, ha ha) rather than the fact that *I* had to restrain myself from correcting *you*. I wouldn't have corrected you because there is nothing to dispute. 'Word is bond' makes perfect sense, though I must confess I am surprised that you do not object to the obvious grammatical error in such a phrase. Trying to reinforce your position by citing historical examples of it's use is irrelevant in this context. It is a false argument: You are attempting to discredit my position by showing evidence for your own. This is not a logical conclusion - there is no causal link between the two. You should debate more. I think you need the practise. As for inferring that I am ignorant (No, I am not saying you are calling me ignorant in case you do not grasp the concept of inference) on the basis of your argument; It seems like you are becoming irritated because I do not subscribe to your point of view. I believe a psychotherapist would see this as an indication that you feel an overwhelming need to be accepted. Were you not shown any love as a child? Would you like a hug? WORD IS BORN! Erm... no offense, but I sub to urban dictionary's daily email and I wouldn't quote them as a source for anything, especially urban slang. Yesterday's entry : Urban Word of the Day December 09, 2006: Hasselhoffing The act of changing a colleague's desktop wallpaper to display the manly physique of David Hasselhoff. Dear God man! I leave my workstation for a few moments to visit the big boys room and you've Hasselhoffed me! -- slightly amusing, possibly, but looks to me like people sitting around making stuff up in hopes that it catches on. And that's the case with the bulk of what they do. jef http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=word+is+bond look how many entries there are for this one. and look how it is a phrase that has a history and actually makes sense. word is born makes no sense at all.

Tom can say 'word is bond'. I can say 'word is born'. Po-TAY-to, po-TAH-to. RE: (313) Ben Sims hiphopfunkdiscosoulelectro mix up
The set which T is referring to was excellent and Im looking forward to DL this mix, we were suppose to record it but had some probs with the MP3 recorder so it never got done, Ben was a bit gutted which is why this mix has been done. He is doing a chi town set at this party on the 16th- http://www.retro-vert.com/ may be some disco as well. I heard him play a set with a similar crate a few months ago, which really blew me away. I certainly formed some really narrow and inaccurate perceptions about his musical interests when I first explored the music he makes and a couple of his DJ sets in the late '90s (which I enjoyed but weren't very broad), but over the last few years his bookings at Retrovert and Split (and what is played on the Split radio show) have opened my eyes a lot. The similar set I heard was definitely one of the highlights of my year, so I thought I'd pass this eagerly-awaited recording on, as his name pops up occasionally, and generally not always in the frame I think he deserves: http://www.splitmusic.net/gallery.asp.
