2003-07-02 Thread Mathieu Roussotte
I don't know but maybe it's a misunderstanding with
the remix (10'') of François de Roubaix who is an old composer of movie
soundtracks (like the samourai with alain delon) from the 60-70's.

mat

i heard through the grape vine that the vocals on Demented were sampled from
and old french movie. is that true?

IMO it's a good record, but as it has been said there's nothing new.
It's like the new alaska by L.Garnier (back in the old days).

Innerzone orchestra, a great thing done but
I wish carl had find another way to create than mixing jazz with techno.,
with regards and respect to all jazz fans.

It's Carl Craig, Luke Vibert and a coupla other folks I'm not
recalling at
the moment, remixing a French composer, Francois de Roubaix, who
wrote stuff
for film in the '60s and the '70s. He did the score to a film called
Le
Samourai, which is a great film noir, and many others. You can check
all of

that here: http://us.imdb.com/Title?0062229

Carl Craig's mix is almost anthemic, with big trumpets, and a great
Carl
Craig Paperclip People style beat. Only problem is that it's nothing
really
new for him (now that I think about it, it sort of reminds me of
'Steam' off

of 'The Floor', in terms of tempo and beat anyway).

It's a hot record, but really pricy for a 10. The label is called
Cinemix.

Innerzone Orchestra was totally different thing and I think there is an obvious
reason why Carl uses so many different monikers for his records. Nobody can
really expect Carl to do only bedroom listening stuff because he did some
absolute classic soulful deep listening music. Nobody can expect that Carl only
does his future jazz records liek Innerzone or Detroit Experiment. And nobody
can expect from Carl that he only does dancefloor stuff like Paerclip People or
Tres demented.
What I want to say is that he has very different facettes and we should be glad
that he releases those different styles. And Carl Craig is not a musical
machine, so he can make tracks that might seem not to be genious as usual
Music is a question of taste.

Hmm sorry but i bought it on sight and after listening i thought it was
a bit of a waste of money, It is basically a drum track and more made
for the DJ's apparently, not really worth for listening at home. Damn
why did i not but that new Pepe Braddock record, now that is a
seriously good record!

They ripped a bassline of Robert Armani and beats alike Farley JM's

exceeded that, with the video reports, graffiti and art spotlights, online

online zine came close to. RIP!!! thanks and respect to dr nutcracker and

Wow! I can't wait for the rest of the 12s to come out then. The 'alternate'
