Dear Bijul, Normaly there are certain colors that go well together. Then if you are late blind, you already know from memory as to what different colors look like. This can also be learnt just like any other subject. Well, being a late blind and now totally blind, I am able to match colours of my kurties and jeans. Yes, its true once I have to ask all colours which are on only one kurti, because nowadays drashes are in maltipal colours. Even while shopping also I am habitual to ask which portion is in which colour by touching all designs to my dear ones and sales man/girl. Then after visualisation of colours and designs, no problem in matching anytime ,even I am alone also at my home or during some trainings. Just for curiosity, I would like to know, how is it possible to recognize colours of dress being a born blind? Means, how he/she can know pink kurti/ti shirt is full match with blue/black jeans. At Vamshi, whats reason regarding you have to put matching pairs in covers when outside of home? Bijal patel. Well, since I live with my parents all the time, I go to them for matching cloths. Re: [AI] 2 questions about daily living skills
Rince i can see a little bit, i do manage to serve myself. My cloths are paired by my wife. In case I am attending a trainning away from, this pairing has helped me a lot to be in perfect matching dress. Afterall who is to deceive us if we are in a family? To those who live with their family: Do you put food in your plate yourself or do you take someone's assistance? If you do it yourself, what method do you use for doing it? 2. This may be a dumb question, but how do you match your clothes? One method is to put a pair in 1 clip and to make many such pairs for a few days. But, then again, one needs sighted assistance to make the pairs, so that somewhat defeats the purpose. What sustainable solution would you suggest? Re: [AI] 2 questions about daily living skills
I've always stayed with my family but there have been occasions when I had to dine on my own. My mom/wife inform me about where they keep the food for me in advance. I preferably pick a bigger plate/bowl so as to avoid spilling over and keep an additional plate underneath the spoon while pouring liquid/curry from the cooking vessel into my plate/bowl. They generally guide/assist me in preparing my plate at parties and family functions, the worst thing is that they need to tell me to straighten the plate a number of times as I don't balance it well. You do get liquid level indicators to help pour liquids into glasses and other containers. As far cloth pairing is concerned, I shop for myself with sighted assistance and mostly remember the combinations I get home. I ask my wife to mix and match pairs as per my liking and take her review on the selection. You can also get a colour recognizer for yourself to assist in this activity. Some tricks and confidence to do things helps you devise methods to live a highly independent life. On 4/26/13, Mohit Shah Shah wrote: > Hello AccessIndia comrades, > > 2 quick questions. > 1. Ajay, So, are you able to judge the colour of your clothes on the basis of the texture? That's pretty amazing, man. Can you elaborate a bit on it? Re: [AI] 2 questions about daily living skills
Hello, 1. do you put the food in plate yourself? a: I have done that many a times. Generally I keep the plate/ boul close to the serving boul to avoid any spilling. That has helped me a lot. 2. How do you match the pares? a: my touch sence is exceptional according to my friends. But in reality it is not like that. I have asked from my mom about the colour of all my clothes once and made an understanding about their texture. I don't need any sighted assistance in selecting my dresses. weather they are night suits or formal clothes for interview. regards On 4/26/13, Mohit Shah Shah wrote: > Hello AccessIndia comrades, > > 2 quick questions. > 1.
