If Trump won in a landslide, mainstream media would just continue

the same as last time "look at the polls, no way he could have

If roles were reversed and Trump had the slim lead, the Biden camp

the mainstream media would have been digging deep to find each and
every "fake" vote for Trump.  They would be working overtime.
Every story would be assumed true and not debated.  No winner

When the counting is done, Trump will end up with almost 75M
votes.  That is more that 10M more than Hillary got in 2016.
About 12M more people voted for Trump this time around.  More
minorities voted for Trump this time around.

Did you really think Trump's base would just accept the losing

This election will never be accepted by half the country, just

Only difference is at least on the nightly news I won't have to

Come February, everything will be reported as unicorns and
rainbows.  Life in the old USA will be great.  There will be no

be as hard on Biden as CNN was on Trump. Social media will be
where all the Trump supports go.  But they will be banned form the
main sites and live on the fringe.

The left has the ball.  All these problems that have been drilled
into our heads for the past 4 years are now their issue to fix.
They have 2 years to convince us they can do a better job.  Both
the house and senate majorities are so thin, either one can flip

I'm tired of customer calls about Zoom classes freezing. I don't get that
many of them, but they go on FOREVER, and the customers keep stressing that
we MUST fix this because it is so important. Problem is, everything is fine
with their connection even if we monitor everything in real time down to 1
second resolution, and everything except Zoom is working fine. And we have
no control over the Chromebook or the customer supplied router, much less
Zoom or the teacher setup.

I got to thinking maybe it is related to the fact that Zoom uses UDP.

Then I found this post, which says the fix is to increase the UDP timeout on
the customer router:

https://forums.att.com/conversations/att-internet-equipment/zoom-freezedrops
-on-1000-mbps-fiber/5ef0cc68917fbb4c31b21f6b

Does that sound reasonable? It kind of does to me.

However, I perused the user guide for a popular home router (Netgear R7000)
and couldn't find anything about UDP or NAT timeout settings.

Not a darn thing to do with the people outside in the first link. The poll

They moved this barrier to 6' so the same poll watchers WHO WERE ALREADY

Steve,

https://www.fox2detroit.com/news/wayne-circuit-judge-dismisses-lawsuit-against-city-of-detroit-alleging-election-fraud

Please read this article and the judge's 13 page ruling on what you claim
is fraud. You and trump have been shot down again.

Judge's are denying these suits left and right, some of them getting quite
heated in their opinions suggesting they shouldn't even be wasting their
breath on these baseless claims.

Now, lets say 50% of the absentee ballots were discarded, changed,
forged whatever… They might represent 1-2% of the total vote. If someone
won by a margin more than the total number of absentee ballots, who cares?
Fix it next time. Throw folks in jail, rend your garments, but the “wide
spread” always present ubiquitous vote fraud, was not statistically
 significant to the outcome.

To launch into such histrionics over fly specks on the wall is
disingenuous at best and an attempt to interfere with the election itself
 at worst.

But we live in a world where every crack-pot on the planet can have a

Critical thinking is in short supply on social media.

Zero suits in trump's favor. He's lost and no amount of bogus lawsuits will
change the outcome. His supporters will rally behind him and say "everyone
is corrupt!!! The election was rigged!!! Biden is paying off all the
judges!!! Lock Hillary up!!!"

It's like watching a child throw a tantrum on repeat, a broken record. For
all the shit Republicans give liberals by calling them snowflakes, I see
way more snowflake behavior from trumpers since he took office.

Secret vote prevents coding ballot to envelope. I would like to see online
voting but until a simple, ubiquitous, robust identification method is created
it probably will not happen.

I guess I should have said disputed. If the number of problem ballots is
smaller than the winning margin it as a non issue.

Re: [AFMUG] OT: this press conference

2020-11-19 Thread Darin Steffl
Steve,

Cite your sources that poll watchers weren't allowed to observe. You won't
be able to because in every case so far, there have been poll watchers
inside watching the count in every precinct.

You only saw some angry trump supporters standing outside in Detroit trying
to get in when there were already 200+ republic poll watchers already
inside. They put up cardboard because the people outside were being
distracting.

Every court filing that has been filed so far has proven that poll watchers
were not kept out. Only "extras" that showed up were blocked because you
don't need any more inside a building than already existed.

FYI, 100% of the votes in our county, and near that number in the entire
state of California are now absentee. I have been registered as permanent
absentee for the last decade or so. If you want to invalidate all the
absentee ballots in CA, that would be a very, very large number.

Re: [AFMUG] OT: this press conference

2020-11-19 Thread Steve Jones
Their premise is not at the election committee level, it's at the machine
level, they have a fair argument, the brand was used once before to alter
the outcome of an election, this one, unlikely, but it's enough to say that
the counting of the votes are one of the few things maybe we dont
outsource. I dont know how in 2020 where everyone carries a camera with 4
to 8 hours record time anyone pretends that there is any valid reason for
the count not to be recorded, every ballot counted, video recording. There
is no reason that envelopes and ballots cant be code paired. If we are
going to stay with digital (I think we should stay paper like canada) then
there is zero reason not to have systems where you can verify your vote is
what you put on the ballot, covid gave us that, at the scale of a national
election, the security and anonymity is already there.
I dont understand why this far into the game we still play games that make
it possible for idiots to put cardboard sheets up over the counting room so
monitors cant watch. Morons like that are always going to weasel there way
in, and yes they will cheat. Audio and video recording will resolve that
100 percent.
Eliminate that stupidity and we dont have to sit through this carnival
again.
Now, supposedly they're trying to get state legislatures to overturn the
people's vote by invalidating the people's counted vote. Pull that type of
shit and I hope that the 80 million new firearm purchased since january
were a high percentage pansy liberals and they start stacking bodies like
champs. Most real americans wouldnt stand in there way for that, hell, they
might even join in on the fun.
It didnt have to come from this, this is as dumb as Chad gore

Re: [AFMUG] OT: this press conference

2020-11-19 Thread Adam Moffett
Each county and state runs its own election.  To influence them in the
way that's being described and with enough fake votes to make the
difference, then you'd need a conspiracy involving hundreds or possibly
thousands of people.  It's far fetched. Certainly, if they find
something they should arrest the people involved.  I'm betting they
won't find anything.

And no, a guy on Youtube yakking about a Trump campaign staffer tweeting
about his informal survey is not "anything".  If Matt Braynard can
describe his research methodology and other people can independently
reach the same conclusion then that would be something.  In which case,
we should hear about it from any of the federal, state, or local law
enforcement organizations who would all love to blow open the case of
the century.

Nobody's saying election fraud is ok, but I think most people are
noticing that Donald Trump's lawyers are the only ones talking about
election fraud.

Re: [AFMUG] OT: this press conference

2020-11-19 Thread Chuck McCown via AF
Every election there are irregularities at 100% of the counties. Every single
county clerk in the nation has unsigned ballots, people voting for spouses,
people doing absentee then voting in person. Happens every time - every
election - everywhere. Nothing new there. Mistakes are made because both man
and machine make counting errors. Happens every single election.Nothing
nefarious about it.

Now, lets say 50% of the absentee ballots were discarded, changed, forged
whatever… They might represent 1-2% of the total vote. If someone won by a
margin more than the total number of absentee ballots, who cares? Fix it next
time. Throw folks in jail, rend your garments, but the “wide spread” always
present ubiquitous vote fraud, was not statistically significant to the
outcome.

To launch into such histrionics over fly specks on the wall is disingenuous at
best and an attempt to interfere with the election itself at worst.

But we live in a world where every crack-pot on the planet can have a platform
and attract a following of those with diminished capacities. Critical thinking
is in short supply on social media.

The reason I ask is I can’t even find it on Streakwave’s web site, but Baltic

they bought up the remaining stock at a discount or something. Or maybe
somebody screwed up and ordered 1500 instead of 150 and they will be working

Re: [AFMUG] OT: this press conference

2020-11-19 Thread Ken Hohhof
It’s cruel of people to keep putting Rudy in the public eye when clearly he’s
not all there anymore, I don’t know if it’s dementia or what, but he needs to
be sitting on a porch somewhere playing checkers, not making a fool of himself
for the world to see. Of course he’s always been a little off, look at his
marriage history. I assume since he was a lawyer and mayor he wasn’t always
like this. Or maybe he was. Again, the marriage history.

That remains to be seen. It looks like it's going to be permanent
unlicensed spectrum, but it sounds like there could still be some
restrictions on outdoor use.

Re: [AFMUG] Small 50lb generator run time

2020-11-19 Thread SmarterBroadband
All our generators are converted to propane. The small Honda 1 or 2K Inverter
generators will get 24 hours plus on a small tank and 36 plus on the next size
up.

Subject: [AFMUG] Small 50lb generator run time

So I've been eyeing these Predator/Honda one hand size generators for a while.
Right now we have a 6500/8500 generator that's got wheels and needs a ramp.

The load is 10 - 125 watts. Not much. The generators now do a great job, but
it sucks to deal with something so heavy (especially when you fill the tank
only to have the power come back on a minute later!)

The little ones seem great, but I'm wondering what kind of run time you can get
with them with a 1 amp or less load. It says 12 hours at 25% capacity - is
that possibly accurate? If we're at 10% capacity does it seem safe to say we
could get 18 hours? We're getting 12-18 hours with the big ones.

So, since it sounds like they haven't finalized rules for outdoor use yet,
I'm guessing those of us with STAs will probably just need to keep asking

Re: [AFMUG] T-Vision Home

2020-11-19 Thread Joe Novak
TVision Home was probably based on Layer3 TV, the 'premium' streaming TV
alternative before it was purchased. It was more quality over pricing, and
targeted cable/fiber subscribers back in 2016-2018-ish. I'm guessing the
new service has very little to do with the previous ecosystem layer3 built
up, and is officially being shut down in favor of the new TV play they are
making.

We lost a couple customers to T-Mobile, they got a bundle of home Internet
and T-Vision streaming service, as a cable TV alternative. They were told
they had to get the T-Mobile Internet, it was a package deal.

Now today I see an artlicle saying T-Vision Home is being discontinued the
end of the year. But there is a new T-Vision OTT service.

I am confused, does anyone understand exactly what is going on? Is this

Re: [AFMUG] OT: Unistrut Pipe Clamp

2020-11-19 Thread Ken Hohhof
Will the pipe be clamped in at least 2 places? Maybe you could use a slightly
oversized HDG U-bolt (Sitepro1 has a bunch of sizes) through 2 holes in the
strut, and run the pipe through the U at an angle. Or if you’re clamping it to
2 pieces of strut, you could attach another piece of strut at an angle.

Might need a square washer the same width as the uni-strut to get the "stud
nut" tightened.

Add 1/4-20 hex nuts and washers.

Does anyone know if there is any sort of bracket available that will allow me

have clamps that will do 90 degrees or run parallel to the unistrut, but
nothing in between as far as I can tell. I really need something that will do
an arbitrary angle.

Streakwave still has a few in stock, I see it when I search for hAP, but if you
search for RB962 it should be the only result.

Is the hAP ac being discontinued or something? Not the Lite or AC2 or AC3 or
any other variants. I realize it is overpriced, so it could be going away.
Most home routers don’t need an SFP cage and even that doesn’t explain why it
costs over $100. But nevertheless we buy them.

The reason I ask is I can’t even find it on Streakwave’s web site, but Baltic
claims to have almost 1500 of them on the shelf, which sounds like a ton unless
they bought up the remaining stock at a discount or something. Or maybe
somebody screwed up and ordered 1500 instead of 150 and they will be working
off that stock for the next 100 years.
