Re: [AFMUG] 450 900Mhz AP Power supply

2015-12-21 Thread Ken Hohhof
Yes, if the POE is set up to use the nonstandard 430 pinouts, you have to undo
it by swapping the white/blue and white/brown wires.

I think it’s basically 802.3at. If you want GbE so all 8 wires are used for
data, the power should go on the transformer center taps. The 430 pinouts were
never going to work for gigabit, it assumed 2 pair data so power could be
differential on the other 2 pairs not common mode.

I think what Ken is saying, is that you need to swap pins 5 and 7 when using an
injector setup for a 430 - which would make it so the pairs are not split,
correct?

Okay, I just found this in the User Guide:

  Note
The PoE input on the Main port accepts any polarity as long as there is at
least one pair
at +Ve and at least one at –Ve.

So, it looks like if I use a GIGE-POE-APC it should work fine, and I can
pretty much set the polarity however I want to.

Yes, use same powering mode as 430 and swap pins 5 and 7. That will only
supply power on 4 pins, not sure that will be adequate if you are using the AUX
port to power something and you are pushing the cable distance, but it worked
fine for me and the AP only seems to draw about 10 watts.

Yup.

The 5GHz and 900 MHz 450i AP, 450i BHM/BHS use:

N00L034A POWER SUPPLY, 30W, 56V - GigE

For the 900 SM, you can use the existing 450 power supply:

N000900L001A Gigabit ENET Capable Power Supply (Same as the one for ePMP
Sync AP and PMP 450).

That said, the N00L034A is brand new and will be available starting
January 2016. In the meantime, you can use:

N65L001B - PTP 650 AC Power Injector, along with AC Line Cord
N65L003A, US Version.

Josh,

He has thousands of pages. I don't have the time to scan those in so it's
probably cheaper to send them somewhere and have them scanned. We did that
years ago for my parents old photos instead of manually scanning them all.

It worked really well and they just sent back discs of the files.

Sent from my smartphone. Please excuse any typos.

You can rent a monster scanner that accepts 10k+ pages at once. MOM is the
company I see used around here often. If you're not worried about filing
them, breaking them out, etc you can just do one big PDF or say a PDF per
hundred pages or whatever.

Re: [AFMUG] OT: Document scanning services

2015-12-21 Thread Faisal Imtiaz
It really depends on a few factors..

How may documents you have (1 or 2 thousand pages ? or 8-10 thousand pages ?)
What kind of docs they are ? nice stacks of paper all of the same size, i.e.
computer printouts ? Telcom Vendor Bills ?
or are they odd sized pages with staples and paper clips etc...

If you the are decently nice stacks of paper, with the right tool they become a
cinch to deal with.

We scanned our paper files inhouse, we purchased a high end canon scanner from
the secondary market (this was a while back). The canon high end scanners do
anti-gravity feed... i.e. they use rubber rollers and friction to pickup the
papers and as such don't have paper jams... (look at the DR3080 or higher
series... the usb ones are pretty easy to work with, stack 100 -200 pages and
let it do it's thing...)

You can do a neat pile of 1000 pages in no time..

There are plenty of folks who can scan the docs for you ..
Here is one who is our neighbor (in the same office park) http://forensis.com/

I can’t imagine that much scanning having much value unless it was organized
in some logical manner that allowed you to find what you are looking for after
 the fact.
Or that each document is somehow indexed. Just a bunch of pages with random
character file names are not easy to search.

Okay, I just found this in the User Guide:

The PoE input on the Main port accepts any polarity as long as there is at
least one pair
at +Ve and at least one at –Ve.

So, it looks like if I use a GIGE-POE-APC it should work fine, and I can
pretty much set the polarity however I want to.

Yes, use same powering mode as 430 and swap pins 5 and 7. That will only

I think what Ken is saying, is that you need to swap pins 5 and 7 when
using an injector setup for a 430 - which would make it so the pairs are
not split, correct?

Oh, yes, now I see. Yes you would have to do that if using a 430 power supply.

I think what Ken is saying, is that you need to swap pins 5 and 7 when using an
injector setup for a 430 - which would make it so the pairs are not split,
correct?

  Note
The PoE input on the Main port accepts any polarity as long as there is at

N65L003A, US Version.

you can power the 450i from a CMM or CTM (probably a packetflux too) that
can provide the voltage that a 430AP would use but you will need a

Yes, once you activate the revised UNII rules, it
it will lower the EIRP in UNII-3, however just
upgrading the firmware won't change anything
(until you enter the key) and you can use the key
again to get the higher Tx Power back (and disable

you do anything.

Parachutes large enough to slow the speed down sufficiently, and landing

heavier and cause more drag than keeping some residual fuel for the powered

Yes, once you activate the revised UNII

however just upgrading the firmware won't
change anything (until you enter the key) and
you can use the key again to get the higher
Tx Power back (and disable UNII-1/2)... of

You just need to upgrade the firmware to 5.6.3, and enter the unlock

There is an energy cost to take the fuel up in the air just to use it to
get back down.

2015-12-21 Thread Sriram Chaturvedi
Yup.

The 5GHz and 900 MHz 450i AP, 450i BHM/BHS use:
N00L034A POWER SUPPLY, 30W, 56V - GigE

For the 900 SM, you can use the existing 450 power supply:
N000900L001A Gigabit ENET Capable Power Supply (Same as the one for ePMP Sync
AP and PMP 450).

That said, the N00L034A is brand new and will be available starting January
2016. In the meantime, you can use:
N65L001B - PTP 650 AC Power Injector, along with AC Line Cord N65L003A,
US Version.

[AFMUG] 450 900Mhz AP Power supply

2015-12-21 Thread Justin Marshall
Hi,

Does anyone happen to know offhand what power supply is needed for the 900Mhz
450 AP?

Only thing google seems to have a definitive answer on (maybe I'm missing it)
is the SM needing 30V, and the back of the AP itself says 55V / 1.1A

Thanks

Nice. Missed approach climb to 2500’ direct MSTLO then right turn direct KSSNG
and hold. I would assume that required equipment for RLS approach is a red
light on the spinner.

Good questions chuck!

So when Santa has to do a missed approach would it be called a Ho Ho Ho around?

I wonder if there is an NDB/ADF approach plate too?

Surprised that the altitude was not sea level. Always presumed it to be on
ice.

I guess the ice could be that thick...

You would think Santa could spring for a CAT III-c ILS.
Surly it is justified, SLC put one in for the Olympics.

I see this in the description on the PacketFlux website:

PMP450i Users: The currently shipping version (Revision I0) of this product
will work with the PMP450i when the syncinjector is powered from a 48V power
supply. This description will be updated shortly to better specify
compatibility with these radios and with 48V.In the interim, please be
assured that this is the correct device to synchronize your 450i radios.

Can I power a 450i AP (900mhz) with something like a PacketFlux gigabit
injector, and if so what pinout would I need to use? I don't need sync right
now, since we're only putting up on AP, so I can deal with that later on.

That said, the N00L034A is brand new and will be available starting
January 2016. In the meantime, you can use:

N65L001B - PTP 650 AC Power Injector, along with AC Line Cord
N65L003A, US Version.

I presume pin 4 is negative and pin 5 is positive?
With pin 7 being negative and 8 positive?

My 430 surge suppressor will power these but only at 100 Mbps.
