Duet Background Scores
Dear Fans

Duet Background Scores are available. Varying Sax pieces, with a special *
BGM* for Prakashraj Introduction are mindblowing.

This *BGM* was used by K. Balachander in all his TV serials later.

( I couldnt remove the voices entirely.. as it disturbed the quality of the
audio). But most of them are *voiceless*. Enjoy

Actually, I had the same thought when I heard "Kahin to". Although, it
might just be a coincidence that Rahman Sir mentioned his liking for
the song and we got to hear the "kahin to" in the same timeframe. But
yes melodious songs with simple orchestration with meaningful (or
mushy) lyrics seem to be a trend right now.

Dear All,

This YG was started in Jan 1, 1999. So, much hasnt been discussed abt movies of
ARR released before that time. If one could go back, one can see real precious
jewels of ARR in the decade from 90 to 2000. ( Not that he is not giving us
precious gems now ) . So, I think it would be better, we start revisiting some
of the glories of ARR 's work, during that period, so as to share a lot of
information and thoughts on movies, ( many of which have gone unnoticed)

Duet.. I just love ARR 's work in this movie like anything. It was K.
Balachander's first association with ARR, after drifting away from IR, and ARR
was and would have been the right choice made by KB, and I am sure he would
have been very happy for taking the right decision.

Some observations abt the songs in this movie

1. Complete Melody tracks
2. SPB singing in every song
3. Anjali Anjali, En Kaadhale are awesome tracks.
4. Introduction of Prakashraj in this movie , and a class BGM used, when he
comes to the scene ( This was used by KB for all his RAJ Tv Serials later )
5. The Sax work of Kadri Gopalnathji.

The song En kaadhale makes u cry. Oh What a melody piece, and wonderful piano
work. Vairamuthu 's Lyrics are a wonder.

I wish ARR does more of movies like DUET

Anyone would love to hear tracks like Duet. One of the Greatest tracks in Tamil
music history. But AR himself told, directors' choice are to be met and he is
restricted to. Unless otherwise tracks like Indira comes out very rarely.

Let's hope AR comes out with more melodies through his KM musiq company.

Good thought Vithur, added to that.
Can we make efforts to collect the reviews by major magazines like Ananda
Vikatan ?

I'd be happy to read reviews on Roja, Puthiya mugam, Thiruda Thiruda, Duet,
Kizhaku Cheemaiyilae, Uzhavan etc.

I'm regular reader of Ananda Vikatan, even now i dont miss to read it online.
There's a section in AV called "Pokkisham" that has old editions revisited. I'm
eagerly waitng for movie review with ARR's music. let me grab if i find,

We can also try to get other reviews.

Re: [arr] ARR 's Theme Music

2008-08-26 Thread Bergin Panimayam
One rare score that I'd like to point out is... may not be theme music, but its
a bg score.

Its the music that comes at the end of "Indian" movie when Kamal (old) walks in
Australia after the last phone call. And the music will continue through the
last credits.

Wonderful music. Someone can rip and share?

[arr] Trisha denies singing for Rahman!

2008-08-26 Thread Vithur
When contacted in Hyderabad, where she is shooting with Nagarjuna for the
Telugu film *King*, the actress told *Sify.com*: "I can't figure out from
where these rumours of me singing for Rahman started? It is a figment of
somebody's imagination running wild.I have not spoken to anyone about this."

She adds that a unit member of her film *Chennayil Oru Mazhaikalam* directed
by Gautam Menon playfully suggested that she sing a song in the film which
has music by A.R Rahman.

Added Trisha: "Rahman is my all time favourite music director and my iPod
has almost all his tunes. But me singing for him is a little too far
fetched."

[arr] Duet revisited

2008-08-26 Thread Vithur
Dear All,

This YG was started in Jan 1, 1999. So, much hasnt been discussed abt movies
of ARR released before that time. If one could go back, one can see real
precious jewels of ARR in the decade from 90 to 2000. ( Not that he is not
giving us precious gems now ) . So, I think it would be better, we start
revisiting some of the glories of ARR 's work, during that period, so as to
share a lot of information and thoughts on movies, ( many of which have gone
unnoticed)

Duet.. I just love ARR 's work in this movie like anything. It was K.
Balachander's first association with ARR, after drifting away from IR, and
ARR was and would have been the right choice made by KB, and I am sure he
would have been very happy for taking the right decision.

Oh What a melody piece, and wonderful
piano work. Vairamuthu 's Lyrics are a wonder.

I wish ARR does more of movies like DUET

Pls keep adding.

On 15th August, I went to the cd shop to buy some movies.  Actually I am a
regular customer of that shop. When I enter the shop. I saw AR sirs poster was
hanging.. I was s excited.  I asked the shop owner which I know
very well, whether he is having extra posters or not? Unexpectedly, the uncle
gave me  THREE posters, since he knows my affections toward AR sir  I was
soo happy and excited…. No words to express my feeling that moment.
Thanks to uncle although the posters are without AR sirs signature. Thanks to
God and my Guru, I know that I can’t have the posters without HIS grace…and AR

Recently, I did a T shirt with AR sir picture. And for me it is the best AR

i uploaded the fully wrapped poster and the t-shirt, for  Rahmaniacs have a

I just couldnt believe this.. Rahman collaborating with MIA.. I
came across her videos just last week thro one of my friend who was her orkut
friend.. And I was thinking if she was used by Rahman in tamil it will be
great, as she is really interesting and I believe who has got immense talents..
I was thinking posting about her to the group so that somebody might let Rahman
know of her.. Its a pleasant surprise to hear Rahman already colloborating with

There are *hundreds* of other movies through which *Harris* can make
his *Malayalam
Debut* But why *YODHA-2*???

[arr] ARR's trend with JTJYN

2008-08-26 Thread : Avinash :

The other day, I was just hearing to some of Pritam's popular songs
just becoz ARR recently mentioned his favourite song of Pritam in
interview (Tumse Hi). Actually I was bowled over by "Tumse yun
milenge" (Ankahi) and "Tumse Hi" (Jab we Met). Those are really
simple yet great music by Pritam (and I don't find any plagarism in
these songs according to ITWOFS :) ) . I think that's what made
Rahman to compose simple and sweet songs like Kabhi Kabhi Aditi and
Kahin To. You can trace current trend happening in Bollywood in
these songs. And Rahman should atleast compose one such song in each
album to get noticed by mass bollywood.

The JTYJN album has already become a hit among College crowd and
youngsters, Bollywood actually likes songs with great lyrics, simple
orchestration, sweet sound and singers! I think Rahman should follow
this trend to get his songs popular among mass audience...

Just my opinion, please take it positively.

Avnash :)
