I know it is many of your favourites. Well, it is not mine. It is not just my 
favourite, rather i would say it is my lifeline. The more I listen to this 
song, the more I feel rejuvenated. Till today I consider this song straight 
from heavens where I imagine the gandharvas playing in the skies and that 
Rahman has brought this for the earthlings. No matter how much I write about 
this song, I feel empty. I like to speak about this song, listen to this song 
and devour this brilliance. Last week a north Indian friend of mine comes up to 
me and asks for this song. Being a bit possessive about this song, I was 
reluctant to share in the beginning. But the divine nature of this song caught 
up in me and pushed me into passing the song to him. Such is the power of this 
song. My friend, who doesnt have any idea of tamil, is taken aback by the 
composition. I am only glad to exlplain the lyrics and the situation in the 
movie. I am blessed

Yeah! I've expected this from someone of us.congrats n best wishes for ur 
interest.I'm also just learning keyboard & vocal with the base of classical 
music. So i think I can manage the basics.first learn the classical notes( sa 
re ga ma) and then take a song and observe it withkeenly.Then write ur own 
notes for that & verify it with the original notes.note that with the help of 
ur interest u can do it. This is  what I know.U may also hear other's f/b and 
choose whichever u like.

A R Rahmans's three songs, `Khalbali' and `Lukha Chipi' from `Rang 
De Basanti' and `Chan Chan' from `Water' have been shortlisted 
amongst top 56 songs of Oscars this year. It's a big honour for the 
man and the country. This reclusive genius who works at his own 
terms and conditions (he records at night and everyone complies) has 
been weaving musical gems for more than fifteen years now. It's 
obvious to ask, if he is the best music composer we have…

Having started off with Mani Rathnam's mellifluous `Roja', Rahman 
set a new trend in terms of electronic sound and new age music 
arrangements. He has always laid a lot of importance on high class 
production values, choice of the most melodious singers (he has 
given break to many new voices) and has consistently raised his own 
bar. His prowess in South film industry is unparalleled. But his 
music score in Hindi films like `Bombay', `Rangeela', `Dil 
Se', `Lagaan', `Yuva', Saathiya' and `Rang De Basanti' carries a 
timeless value. It can withstand the test of time. For each time you 
listen to a `Tu Hi Re', `Chaiyaa Chaiyaa', `Rangeela Re', 
Mitwa', `Humdum Suniyo Re', `Khuda Hafiz', `Paathshaala' or `Rubaru' 
you feel as if you've heard it for the first time. The freshness 
quotient in his music carries a tinge of mint. 

His last release `Guru' is a mixed bag. But even then, a few of the 
songs like `Tere Bin', `Barso Re' and `Jaage Hain' are miles ahead 
of any of the other music compositions in the recent times. A 
fantastic singer (as is evident in his rendition of `Vande Mataram') 
Rahman never went overboard in promoting himself as a singer the way 
a few upstart music composers have done in the recent past. Rahman's 
live performances are always sold out and he is the highest paid 
star while performing abroad (matching the biggest superstars). The 
biggest compliment comes his way when any and every music composer 
in Bollywood tries to copy him (recent example being Anu Malik in 
his music arrangements of `Jaaneman' soundtrack). 

Finally, A Rahman is definitely the finest music composer in 
Bollywood at the moment. And here record sales are not the criterion 
for saying that. Even Altaf Raja can sell a crore copies of `Tum To 
There Pardesi'. The criterion is the union of commercial viability 
and unmistakable virtuosity as a genius. `Rang De Basanti' is one of 
the recent examples from his repertoire where he blends brilliance 
of music with exceptional artistic 
sensibilities. `Rubaru', `Khalbali', `Lukha Chipi', `Rang De 
Basanti' and `Paathshaala' entertain and ignite a passion-for-change 
at the same time.  

Indiaglitz wishes A R Rahman all the best in his endeavour to bring

[arr] 75% audio sales by harris -yuvan (read this shocking news from sify)

On the musical charts there is a major battle brewing between Yuvan 
Shankar Raja and Harris Jayaraj for the top slot. 
The battle is who is more popular with yuppy, ringtone loving youth 
who accounts for nearly 90 percent of sales from music stores. Yuvan 
and Harris account for 75 percent of the total audio sales from 
music shops in Chennai. 

Among the top ten, Yuvan has three top selling albums while Harris 
took over the hot seat since the release of Vetayadu Vilayadu. 
Remember that Yuvan has not been able to match Harris' Ghajini audio 
sales. 

But Yuvan is more prolific and dishes out hits at regular intervals 
at least 6 to 8 audio tracks in a year while Harris does only 2-3 
films.

Both the music directors have made deep inroads into Telugu audio 
market which is more paying. Their salary including the re-recording 
for the film ranges from 50 to 55 Lakhs.

   sorry da for what i have written.don't take it seriously.it 
came instantaneously as i was too angry about the group activity .as 
arr fans we must first love our master's songs .do you all know 
that, if everybody critices the songs ,we get a feeling 
psychologically that the songs are bad and with a notion if we hear 
songs even 'roja' and 'bombay'  will   be  bad.

 do you know that arr was very happy about gf songs because he 
knew the effort he has given to it. as fans we must try to promote 
our songs ,not try to discourage it .

 my friend first heard the songs and said it was great and it 
rocks .then he visited our group to see people's reaction.And then 
he heard the songs and said the songs were just average and not 
excellent.

  guys enjoy the songs .dont compare each and every 
microsecond tune and say it resembles this that etc.leave off 
this tendency.

   i feel terribly sorryyy for what i have written to 
you.when gf songs were released itself many green green reviews were 
posted by some one .
i felf terribly ofended ,but now when i saw this blogger 
my anger rocketed sky high and so immdiately started writing this 
message.i felt gf songs were good and if not the best it is far far 
better than what other music directors produce in the name of music
  
i understand your feelings as you are an arr fan and so 
i should not have done that to  you .so again i say sorr  for

remedy - pleasee remove mute and then write reviews

2)listening songs with ear muffs or cotton

3)you must have been influenced by srikanth deva's danda naka danaka 
nakka kuthu songs and expect that in 2006.

remedy- pleas remove urself out of ar rehman fans and join 
srikant deva's fans club and write happy reviews there.

[arr] beware fans -gf is one of the best from the maestro

i like to say that some vijay fans who wants to spoil ajits 
reputation  in turn spoiling arr songs by posting dissapointing 
green green reviews .please do not allow that to spoil our maestro's 
reputation
 

 gf songs are the talk of the town. every other music director who 
just sustained  by giving dapankuthu songs are shocked to see 
splendid performance by arr.they see arr coming back very strongly 
to his position .

my review and ranking

1) illamai and innisai (both all time best of arr)
2)theeyil (makes u cry )
3) katril(excellently sung by spb and sadhana)
4) thotapuram(nothing exceptional -but will be most popular among 
masses)
5)ooh aah (good fast number- has to be ranking 5 because of 
exceptional songs at the top)

now.chandramuki had the highest sales of audio till now.so gf is just
