Coming back. This year i present a new remix set for you. Enjoy
your Deewali with a blast of non-stop Rahman’s remixed tracks. I

Rahman’s latest - Yuvraaj.
Make your Deewali a dance blast with my first release, The

Hey guys, I decided to try to rip one of my favourite BGMs ever!
This is from the climax of kannathil muthamitaal. It came out very
nicely! I encoded it into flac for size reduction. But even
still, the
size is very big! (6mb/minute) One thing to notice is that
although
the size is reduced, the quality is LOSSLESS just like wav.
Absolutely
no loss. Eventhough the size is big, I promise you, its 10
minutes of
  absolute bliss.

And it is a torrent file, which means it wont take long to
download.
Ill be uploading it directly from my computer and also as people
download, they can also help seed me. Which means we will all
benefit
from each other. So here is the torrent shortcut, just isntall
utorrent (google search its free) and then open this file and
save the
file to your fav destination. I'll be seeding this 24/7.

Please download and check the BGM out for urself. If you guys are
all
satisfied, I can even rip the entire BGM of kannathil muthamitaal.
Make a compilation just like kaissom or vithur and we can use
torrent
to share. The ball is in your court.

  Torrent Shortcut: http://www.sendspace.com/file/oeo957 (just open
this
with softwares such as utorrent available here
  http://filehippo.com/download_utorrent/)

** the more people download, the faster the download will be for
others since there are more people uploading it via torrent. so
this
is perfect for long term sharing like BGM collections. Please
consider
this method for sharing files since sizes seem to be an obstacle
here
which results in quality loss when methods such as mp3
compression is
  approached.

  Actual File: http://www.sendspace.com/file/jetucs

** just in case people are not able to use torrents, here is the
link
to the actual file. but remember this link expires in a while and
its
not a very fast way to download and its also a hassle to upload
due to
large sizes. Thats why i prefer the torrent method.

*** i am just trying to introduce new methods for BGMs and file
sharing in order to show you all that we can all be proud owners
of
  lossless BGMs from ARR!

This was an awesome event!! I just got back, and can't get it out of my

Sivaji, Guru, and RDB dominated the list.

[arr] Oakland (San Francisco) concert and ARR fan gathering

2007-05-11 Thread ST
Yes I've bought tickets. They're probably sold out by now.
I'm actually flying from Seattle to San Francisco for the the concert,
and it would be great to arrange an ARR fan gathering before the
concert.

Who are the organizers? I will contact them to see if we can get a
private gathering with ARR for this group.

Please let me know who all are going. The more people we have, the
better chance we have of arranging something.

[arr] New ARR FTP Server ?

2007-02-21 Thread ST
Hey guys,

Is there still an active ARR ftp server?
If not, I was thinking of hosting one - but only for BGMs and remixes,
not for sharing full tracks.

There will have to be some sort of manual screening to prevent full
tracks from being uploaded. In my mind its primary purpose is to share
BGMs and rare tracks that can not be purchased readily, and to inspire
more remix efforts.

Any thoughts?

Hi Durba,

I am a big Rahman fan, and always have been. But I don't think any
critics of Rahman should be shunned down. There is no need to ban
anti-rahman community; they have the right to free speech as much as
we do. One exception is when personally targeted hateful mails are
being exchanged, in which case we should definitely report the group

May I suggest that we don't report boguses and let those communities

those anti-ARR communities have!

 Rahman learns the accordion

He's a music director who doesn't need to prove his credentials
today. And one would expect
Rahman to take it easy when it comes to filmi music, but that is far
from the case. Rahman
still goes out of his way to deliver his best, whether it is for an
Indian project or an
 international one. For Mani
Ratnam's Guru, the musician actually went searching for an
instrument he didn't know how to
play — the accordion. He went to a popular music store in Hong Kong,
purchased an accordion,
learnt how to play it and actually incorporated this in the music of
the film. Such dedication!
Must say that is truly the mark of a guru!

[arr] ARR for 2008 Olympics???

2006-05-30 Thread ST

Is it really true?

http://bmcirillo.blogspot.com/2006/04/covered-tools-important.html

I'm ushering some shows coming up, so that should be cool (read as get
in for free!). This weekend for The Good Person of Setzuan which I've
helped build the set for and everything, and that it should be cool to
see the fruition of all that work. Next weekend I will be going to
Dayton to usher an A.R. Rahman show called Wake Up! He has personally
asked for Western Students to usher his show because he was so
impressed by us when he came last semester (so that's pretty cool).
He's the most famous composer in Bollywood (who knows how many times
larger than hollywood), the composer of the Andrew Lloyd Webber
musical Bombay Dreams, the new Lord of the Rings musical, many MANY
movies (including Spike Lee's Inside Man and Andrew Niccol's God of
War) and he has been signed on for the 2008 Olympics. That should be
pretty cool I would imagine.

Hi,

I had bought grado SR60 especially to listen to ARR. Its sound
quality is fantastic, even at high volumes. My only problem with it
is that it gets uncomfortable to wear after a little while. In all

If you want somethign portable, go for another model.

[arr] What is really inside Inside Man

2006-04-03 Thread ST
Hi All,

I recently saw the movie Inside Man – primarily because it featured
chaiya chhaiya. As some people have pointed out it is used only as an
opening and closing number. The opening version has been shortened
considerably and has been decorated by Terence Blanchard. The
closing version has some contributions by Blanchard as well as Punjabi MC.

Apparently these contributions seem to have been made without
consulting ARR, and it shows. Terence Blanchard's additions are very
inappropriate and practically ruin it, when compared to the original.
His strings are almost out of harmony with the underlying composition
and he has added a discordant loud noise at selected places – which
apparently turns out to be a theme of the movie. Punjabi MC's
contributions are equally inappropriate if not more. Especially when
playing this in the western markets, where rap style has matured
fairly well, PMC's additions sound amateurish. It makes you appreciate
the way ARR blends in Blaze's rap into his originals. In addition, the
placement of the tracks is completely irrelevant to the storyline. I
was expecting it to be used to promote cultural diversity in NY, like
someone here had suggested, but that was not the case. It seems to
have been used simply because Spike Lee liked it, which in my opinion
is good enough, but not the greatest reason..(since it exposes ARR's
work to a larger crowd)

All this bring about another point to mind – that ARR's music can not
be well understood even by professional artistes around the world –
and that if you can not understand the substance, you can not alter
it. I'm sure all of you hardcore fans would agree that ARR's music is
clearly in another dimension, one that may not be obvious at first.

It seems to me that ARR works best as a Maverick. Anyone else's
contributions simply add dust in the heavenly air he brings us. The
only other composer which whom he has successfully blended is Nusrat
Fateh Ali Khan. Now, considering that LOTR music may also be
adulterated, it makes me eagerly wait for a review from a die-hard ARR
fan, someone who has experienced and appreciates his past work, and
ofcourse I want to hear the soundtrack itself.

Despite my disappointment I am very proud that our ARR is getting more
international attention. He has expressed that he will take on a
Hollywood movie if and when the right opportunity comes with a
director who understands his music. I now completely understand why he
is so reserved. One day he will become a household name around the
world, and be revered as one of the greatest music artistes the world
has produced.

- S

P.S. overall, ch ch and the movie itself are not bad, quite enjoyable.

[arr] Re: LOTR reviews

2006-03-23 Thread ST
Yes, unfortunately, this is a not the best start.

And though the musical score, by the Indian film composer AR Rahman,
the Finnish group Värttinä ... it doesn't, at least on first hearing,
seem to offer any memorable take-home numbers.

We should keep in mind that these folks have probably never heard
ARR's work, and so they don't know what we do.. that his music grows
with time. We should hope for positive reviews, but ultimately the
only review that will shed the right light is our own.

[arr] Re: MUSIC OF MIDDLE EARTH: AN interview with Christopher Nightingale

2006-01-13 Thread ST
everything has grown together, building a whole and complete new
world. In the finished score, I hope there will be no song you can
point to and say `that's by A.R. Rahman,' or `that's by Värttinä.' You
may hear a melody originally written by Rahman, but to which Värttinä
has applied its own, unique interpretation, and vice-versa.

Has our ARR ever produced anything that is fused together with
another composer? With the possible exception of the song with Nusrat
Fateh Ali Khan there seems to have always been a clear boundary on
where his contributions lie.

--- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, raghuram rao [EMAIL PROTECTED]
wrote:

Christopher Nightingale is the orchestrator and musical supervisor
of The Lord of the Rings, the person responsible for the music of
Middle-earth. He worked with the composers – A.R. Rahman and Värttinä
over the course of two years and the music would not be there without
him. Chris is one of theatre's most experienced and highly regarded
masters of his craft, with past credits that include some of West End
London's best plays and musicals, despite his never having imagined a
career for himself in either theatre or music. I didn't set out to
pursue a career in music explains Nightingale. In fact I studied
sciences. I did have a musical background - and I went to Cambridge on
an organ scholarship – but I took a degree in Natural Sciences.
However, it was at Cambridge that I discovered how much I loved the
theatre when I became involved with the Footlights, the amateur
theatre club at the university. The truth is that I spent a good deal
of the time I should have spent with my
science books playing the piano with the Footlights, instead.
Actually, Chris Nightingale did far more than just play the
piano. He was musical director of the Footlights for three years – and
the Footlights was (and is) far more than an amateur theatre club;
it has provided Britain's professional theatre with some of its
brightest talent for more than 120 years.
Going into the theatre wasn't a conscious choice, but when the
opportunity came along, it felt like the right thing to do. After
university, I messed around for a bit, playing piano here and there,
skiing… and then Richard Brown, who's working with me now on The Lord
of the Rings, gave me a job playing piano at the Royal Shakespeare
Company. And here I still am, sitting at a piano in a theatre, almost
20 years later.
But even 20 years of theatre experience wasn't quite enough to
prepare Chris fully for the proposal he would receive from producer
Kevin Wallace.
I had worked with Kevin before but when he first approached me to
ask what I thought of the idea of a stage production of Tolkien's
books, possibly a musical, my first reaction - and I think it was our
director, Matthew Warchus's as well - was `You've got to be kidding!
The idea is crazy!'
I found it difficult to imagine The Lord of the Rings as a stage
production - the work is so vast - how would you put a thousand pages
of text into a theatre? But I found it impossible to imagine it as a
musical. How could you find a route in - musically – that could do
this work justice, and avoid cliché and cuteness? Frodo singing about
how heavy the ring is and how he just can't go on? It seemed to me
like a very bad idea.
Then I looked back at the books. I had forgotten how filled with
music they are. Music - both literally and as metaphor - is central to
the tale. In The Silmarillion, Tolkien's introduction to his imaginary
universe, Middle-earth is called into being in song, and each new act
of creation - of Elves, Men, Dwarves - is a new theme in a divine
symphony. Evil is introduced into the world as a discordant theme that
disrupts the harmony. Musically, perhaps the whole project wasn't such
a bad idea, after all. I began to realise that you couldn't actually
tell this story without music.
But what would the music be? It was going to have to be something
quite unusual. We certainly weren't going to manage it within the
bounds of a conventional `musical' – it couldn't sound like any
Broadway or West End show any of us had ever seen before – and I was
grateful to realise that that's not what Kevin Wallace ever had in mind.
We talked it over and came to an agreement on where to start.
Evil - the dark stuff - seemed for us the key to the music of
Middle-earth. How do you express this darkness musically? What we
wanted most of all was to avoid the obvious - the clichéd stings and
chills of horror films. We didn't want something `scary', but
something brooding and visceral - something more Brothers Grimm than
Hollywood.
The breakthrough for us came in a stage production called The
Black Rider, by Tom Waits. The interesting title is pure coincidence -
believe it or not it has nothing to do with the Black Riders of The
Lord of the Rings. Waits' song is from an opera he wrote with the
novelist William Burroughs in the early `90s. It wasn't that we wanted

[arr] Re: ARR RECORDINGS AT LATE NIGHT

2005-11-22 Thread ST
Hi Raam,

From what I gather by reading ARR's interviews, there are two main
reasons for working at night - lack of distraction, and creativity
comes better in a peaceful environment. Another possible explanation
is that people have different energy levels and moods during different
parts of the day. Ofcourse, you'd ask who is high in the middle of the
night,
but after shifting their sleep schedule a person may find
himself/herself to be very productive at night. I know I am..
especially when indulged in a creative task - I tried it few years
back and it worked wonders. Though under most normal circumstances its
infeasible to turn around ones schedule. Still, some of us may need
to (not me).

come from outside chennai, how they make it, where they stay. will
they spend a day or two for these recordings. Will there be a break

[arr] Re: Bloody shame what happened to Bose and Meenaxi's music.......

2005-11-22 Thread ST
Ajit,

I totally agree. Its seems very difficult to figure out what the right
elements for commercial success are, expecially for a style like
ARR's. People appreciate his overall talents, but apart from a small
group of fans like us, some of these albums never received the level
of appreciation it should have.

I've concluded not to attach commercial success with the real quality
of any of his soundtrack; rely entirely on our personal judgement.
Despite a cynical attitude I'm predicting water to be very well
appreciated by the masses - atleast by the same crowd that praised
Bombay, laagan, earth, zubeidaa, etc.

From these two albums..the masterpieces..Yeh Rishta, Desh Ki

The music of Mangal Pandey and Swades received more recognition, and
Swades, rightly so, garnered the most success commercially, and is

But, the music of Meenaxi and Bose.very special, very crafty, very
 creative, a stroke of genius..and yet.unrecognized..

[arr] Re: T-SHIRT (Please Read this ###IMPORTANT### )

2005-11-22 Thread ST
Hi Shekar

Great ideas. I want to point out one more thing. In order to have a
useful member break-down by geographic location maybe we should create
a system where members can be grouped by cities or states. That will
not only help in nominating and electing one or two members in the
region to distribute the Tshirts, but it'll also bring us closer to
fellow ARR fans in our regions.

I have two ideas:

1. Either we have a secure online registration system, a form or
'ARRFans Whitepages', where people can browse by region.

2. Or we can simply find a (private) online forum where we can create
multiple threads of dicussion - each thread representing a region, and
members from the region can place messages, organize meetings, elect
members to act as distributors of the region, etc.

A hybrid of the two maybe a better option.

I think with this form of decentralized control we can make the Tshirt
project and hopefully many more projects in the future a great success.

If there is enough response to this message I can happily take on the
responsibility of arranging such a system.

What do you guys think?

- S

--- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, Shekar BS [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

   Hi All fellow mates,

In continuation to this subject let me have some
suggestion regarding this concern,

Lets initiate the project with a few number of t-shirts may be
around 200 pieces. For funding and pooling the amount, letz open an
ICICI bank savings bank account (because ICICI has indiawide branches,
so that all the Indian fans can put their money into the account).
Let the account be a joint account operated by 2 or 3 fans (lets
say gopal, bharat, bhaskar, assuming all r in bangalore). Account is in
the name of ARR fans group. Letz have a poll and get the people
names and their addresses that are interested buying the shirt. Lets
give the account number to the fans. Finalise the amount and ask them
to deposit the amount in to the account. By this I think there will be
transparency in the transaction.
Mean while the other team takes the order for t-shirt, finalise
the design, material and all those stuffs and get the product done.
regarding dispatching the shirts, instead of having courier charges
beared by the user, letz have a common outlet like thing for one
region (eg 1 in bangalore, 1 in chennai, 1 in mumbai etc). For
identification of a genuine member shall be a unique code sent to his
personal mail ID. One team can authenticate the code to the individual
to his/her mailed, upon producing the code, the code shall be matched
with the name and or else the printout of the mail will authenticate
the genuine user.
This idea might be having a very complex, but the process is
divided and we can group ourselves who are in same place to work on
one task like collecting money, getting the details of buyers. Giving
printing/manufacturing orders and distributing. Working parallel makes
work done efficiently and fast. And at last let me remind you that
THE CO-ORDINATION, FAITH AND most important is DEDICATION will be the
key to success. Fellow members from India, please put your words. And
I hope nobody makes fun on this Idea.
COME LET's MAKE THIS PROJECT A HUGE SUCCESS. After the success,
we'll plan and implement the idea to dispatch shirts to the members
out of India.

   Warm Regards.,
   Shekar

Re: [arr] recalling rahman flute pieces!

2005-10-17 Thread ST

Hi Arijit,

 12. Also in Dubai live when Sivamani and Nilkatam were playing drums
and mridangam, naveen played a beautiful
 piecemindblowing.

I'm glad you mentioned this piece. It really is Mind blowing!! A great
fusion of pure sweet flute melody and rhythmic beats; it should have
been converted into a full-length instrumental.

I might convert it to mp3 one of these days and post it..

[arr] Re: Please Help(Survey)

2005-10-13 Thread ST
 1) What makes A R Rahman's Music different from
others. It would be better if you could tell me in
terms of the instruments he uses etc.

I don't think his choice of instruments is what really sets him
apart – although it is crucial, instrumentation is only one component
of a good soundtrack. We all know he is a technophile when it comes to
musical production, and probably adds more synthesized sounds in his
tracks than any other composer in India. Rahman and his troupe have
mastered this technology superbly. Yet I don't think his success can
be attributed to his sound engineering skills. He would have been just
as successful in the time of - now revered - musical masterminds,
Mozart, Beethoven, etc. - in a pre-technological age where choice of
musical instruments was also quite narrow.

What does make his music different, to me, is the nature and style of
his melodies.
Conventional music composers had mastered a set of techniques to
convey a small set of emotional boundaries with little variance. Think
of it as mapping a continuous space, the universe of emotional
conveyance U, into discreet valued subsets S, where S U. Clearly
there was much room to expand, and no doubt other people were trying
to do so – this is what the society considers true artists; those that
bring novelty into their productions.

The only problem is (by some measure) human beings are not very
creative thinkers – we feed off ideas of others, and we make progress
one stepping stone at a time. One of the clearest indications of this
premise is the way research community works – each person's
contributes a fairly small set of - typically subtle - ideas that in
retrospect are a simple and obvious extension to previous work, but
may have gone through a long ride to get there. We can extend the same
general argument to the field of music. Genres have formed because
people repeatedly conceived similar style of musical compositions. We
keep complaining about lifted tunes by copy-cat musical wannabes.
And how often have we listened to a catchy pop-style tune that fades
away swiftly.

The point of this little digression is that Rahman has demonstrated a
clearly superior creative ability in music and through this he has
been able to step outside the narrow discretized range of ideas of in
his field, and prove that indeed the established set of emotional
properties were not discreet subsets, but a wide spectrum of
experiences. He can create an ambience that runs across portions of
this spectrum. His every track (almost) is as unique and creative as
the first – we know he has the ability to roam farther in the universe
of all possible emotions that can be conveyed than just about anyone
else in the business. And because the explored states are much smaller
than its universe (S U), there is plenty of room for further
exploration.

Put simply, he has the unique ability to convey unexplored and of
course divine emotions through his melodies – that is what sets him apart.

As for a more complete argument, we'll have wait for neurological
studies that identify how we react to different properties of sound.
(It's not going to happen in our lifetime)

 2) (This is like the more impotant one). Why do you
think It is only A R Rahman tha has been so succesful
internationaly while his indian counterparts have been
 trying to capture Indian Markets.

Much of the previous answer can easily be substituted here. I'll just
add few more comments.

Music is a purely emotional experience – regardless of the
demographics of the audience, the genre, or the language. While people
from a given culture may have been attuned to particular styles of
music, what the melodies and rhythm try to convey can be experienced
regardless of the cultural boundary, and certainly appreciated when an
inconceivably unique tune falls upon the ears. It's true! Even we
Indian fans hear portions time to time, despite listening to him all
these years, which we simply could not have imagined had it not been
for ARR's genius.

Now, since ARR has far greater musical creativity and an ability to
churn out complex, unheard of, and yet emotion-arousing notes, it is
no surprise that he has maintained a strong hold on the Indian market
(we'll among his original fans at least) while venturing out
internationally. Put bluntly, his Indian counterparts don't have as
much inherent musical talent. His (super) success internationally will
not come because there is any shortage of musical composers in the
international arena, but because there is a clear void in the market
for a talent as fluent and expressive through the language of music as
of Rahman.

I don't think personality factor plays as much role here because his
work is behind the curtains showbiz. Though, from what we hear, his
humble and warm nature, and a pure heart, must have inevitable played
a role in him being accepted into the international circle of
prominent musical artistes.

 3) What is the Profile of people

Re: [arr] A R R in top composers list

2005-10-08 Thread ST
That makes more sense!
Rahman's talents are far superior to Elfman's or Zimmer's. But it only
becomes clear when you listen to enough of their work.

Re: [arr] WOHE - BGM

2005-09-02 Thread ST
why was it not in the CD, was it coz of its close to 1 minute
duration or of something else?
My best guess is that it would have been a late improvisation. None of
the other tracks would fit the situation. I agree, its too good to
leave off the soundtrack - it could have blossomed into a great song.

ARR's talent is far greater than the directors who use his work. I
felt that atleast for the first half of the movie the bgm was
mismatched and poorely used - even thought the soundtrack is amazing -
it just wansn't used to its potential. I guess thats a common problem
these days.

[arr] Re: sick of the music could have been better

2005-07-25 Thread ST

I think most of the members of this group feel intimidated
 by AM, NS ... I don't.

Not quite intimidated, more like disgused. AMs copycat n lackluster
talent are a joke. NS have one style. I guess their types of tunes is
personal preference. AM, NS are no comparison for ARR. If must
compare, use MDs of commensurate skill.. Nusrat F A K, naushad, etc etc.

Why talk just about chor chor which was still a good album
 and is known to people?

i used taal/chor chor to convey the point tht ARR cant pelase
everyone. Because songs of taal/chor chor are so different, some of
those that adored chor chor felt taal fading away quickly. Sure we can
focus on its success too.. just answering your question which crowd
was displeased with taal

I think we've explored this thread to a reasonable depth, dont you?

Lets enjoy what he has given us thus far, and hope for the next (your
preference)++ but my feeling is that its going to be ARR++

  For
a long time I hadn't heard them, any chance I get ARR's numbers seemed

listens. Plus, i never said naushad was disappointing, or that the
songs are bad! I feel those type of composition wont last in today's
  mass market if released today..

 Not the same compositions.

Naushad had released Tajmahal a few months back (Do people
know that Naushad is 85, and composing), and he had given
modern tunes in that album. That is not a copy of MEA. That
 has latest technology.

  that doesnt mean they are
disappointing! Precisely the case with ARR's work (but the reason for
mass market's displeasure wuld be different).

Exactly my point! Then why complain that ARR songs are disappointing
  because they lack periodness??

period-ness is what will earn respect for ARR.

This discussion started with arr saying no to further
period-movies. I was trying to look into what, if anything,
went wrong with his earlier period music. If something
comes out and ARR gets an insight, he will continue doing
further period and fans are in for treats after treats.

I feel 1947earth to be the best album of ARR. How sad it
will be if ARR decided not to create such albums in future.

It is plainly what ppl see on the
surface that decides the fate of ARR numbers. It is people's inference
  that is misguided.

Such type of your comment will alienate people. These will
hurt them and will, in turn, hurt ARR.

When you consider movies and soundtracks that are appreciated and
rated high by some of these reviewers, it becomes clear how valuable
their opinon really is (to me/arr fans). You'r right they need to make
a living.. so generally they need to appeal to majority of their
readers.. and that does not do justice to ARR's work.

When ARR's work will be liked by majority, these critics
will be forced to write good things. It is all in a loop.

  Taal flopped in south.

Taal was declared as a one-cassette-per-minute sold album.
Thus, if it was a hit at most of the places, maybe, we can
 concentrate on those places first.

Im sure there were small percentage of people
in north aswell who didnt appreciate it as much as some of his older
works like Chor Chor, Dil hai Sanam.

Chor Chor was just a dubbed album, and its film was never
dubbed/ released. The audio company tried to encash on ARR
magic. Thus, the album didn't become a hit in hindi without
the accompanying visuals and publicity that a film generates.

Why talk just about chor chor which was still a good album
 and is known to people?

There was one muthu maharaja in hindi, which never reached
Indore, and it is a big city.

 Those were marketing mismanagements.

If he releases most albums like
Taal, surely would be a huge market that would demand a change!

Rest asuured ARR will never release a repeat album. He will
give tall++, and people will crave for more.

That precisely is one of the biggest problems with other MDs today.
Not comparing the talent of articulating various emotions through
musical compositinon (because arr should only be compared with other
world musical geniuses), they have one style of creative composition
  and thats all they have!

Let us analyze and learn from that one style of these
indian mds, and give feedback to ARR to use the strategies
 of these MDs.

Anu Malik's Asoka got condemned because its music did not
 ahve the period feel.

Ghai deserted NS after Pardes to team up with our man. Ghai
deserted our man and got the kick of his lifetime at his
 lower back in the flop

What you said above is EXACTLY, VERBATIM, DITTO, the same as
what was said about those persons who felt disappointed with
Rising and Aa Aah in first hearings.

Lagaan music became hit just like Dil Se and Bombay and Taal

Exactly my point! Then why complain that ARR songs are disappointing
because they lack periodness?? It is plainly what ppl see on the
surface that decides the fate of ARR numbers. It is people's inference
that is misguided.

Similarly, if Ashutosh could bring a old feel in Lagaan,
or Benegal could bring an old feel in Zubaidaa or in Bose,
it is their mastery. I would say that they did not get much
 help from ARR.
Laagan would not have been what it was without ARR's music and
background. ARR's contribution wasnt just in defining the situation,
but in defining emotions of the audience. I guess the best advocate of
this view would be Ashutosh or bengal, and their honest views we'll
never know..

In your last mail, you had written I stopped listening to
critics long time ago. I think we should leave it upto
that. Critics are professional and they have to earn a
living by writing reviews. That must be affecting what they
 write.

When you consider movies and soundtracks that are appreciated and

His those music that were attractive on surface too, were
not a compromise on contents. That is what I am saying. He
should mandatorily make his music have enough attractiveness
 of surface too.

Agreed. His best work that is appreciated the most has a surface
factor aswell as his usual depth.

If he chose to adopt a style that pelases one crowd, he would
lose out
  on another.
Which crowd was displeased with Taal?
Taal flopped in south. Im sure there were small percentage of people
in north aswell who didnt appreciate it as much as some of his older
works like Chor Chor, Dil hai Sanam. If he releases most albums like
Taal, surely would be a huge market that would demand a change!

That precisely is one of the biggest problems with other MDs today.
Not comparing the talent of articulating various emotions through
musical compositinon (because arr should only be compared with other
world musical geniuses), they have one style of creative composition
and thats all they have!

Oo palanhare and ek tuu hii bharosaa, sure. Context is pretty much the
same. I dont know how much periodness comes into play when one is
worshiping. I guess the period element in palan hare comes from the
lytics e.g bhakti ko shakdi do. bhagvaan yeh jeevan, tumhe na
savaro ke.. What I find amazing here is how well the melody fits
those lyrics. So indirectly it does contain period elements doesnt it.

Megha song.. no way wont replace anything!

Mahive Mahive from LOBS.. with some modification could be placed in
other period/non period situations. But not as it is, the tabla beats
in the background are too reminiscent of the olden era. Ofcourse they
probably dont resemble anythign of that time, it just creates that
feeling.

IM sure there are more examples.. just trying to make this one short.

Yesterday I downloaded mughal-e-azam songs as I hadnt heard them in a
lng time. Naushad has a great talent, ARR possibly has some
resemblance of naushad's style of composing tunes out of notes. (I
didnt say melody ). After listening to them few times I'm of the view
that, to me, Mughal-e-Azam wont last for more than couple of hearings.
It is just not attractive for this era. Should ARR compose anything of
that (even with modern day reccording technology) it wont last even as
long as what he actually releases.
Do you tell me Mughal-e-Azam does not have traits of 1960?? ( which is
when it was released I think) I dont know 1960s music well, but that
what it appears to me as initially.

Eventually, the modern day style feel of these songs prevails over
period feel of these songs.
to me, over the time, the songs get ingrained into the movie. When I
hear lagaan songs it will remind me of scenes from the movie, or give
me some other feel that I had attatched most to that tune, but doesnt
replace with modern day style feel.

I'll concede from your examples that many songs of these films can be
interchanged. But to me that does not put the songs out of place for
the situation demanded, or the situation it arouses through my
imagination!

Frankly, nobody knows or cares what sounds were used in
mughal era, but the past musicians have set a trend by using
those heavy instruments to denote the feel of that era. Now
people recognize those sounds to be the sounds of mughal
 era.
Agree.

If ARR changes those sounds to push some new sounds,
people might not digest it, and music and film will flop.

Not. Lagaan songs did not flop. Earth 1947 did not flop (atleast among
the audience I know of)

That is the first misfit aspect of the music.
How do you know the director is not to be blamed for that? Do you
really think any music director in his right mind would palce a voice
of a little kid for a 30 something old lady? Sounds like
miscommunicaiton of scenario from director to ARR.

but he agains comes us with songs like dhaka lagaa bukaa
and shazaade nikale which make peole remind of earlier
days and they switch their minds off from ARR.
Agree. You're reading my mind too.

How can you say the blame is not on people??

But when ARR could manage to win the hearts of hindi crowd
with Rangeela, and later taal, now he has no locus standi in
saying that he could not understand hindi listeners.
I'm sure he understands. The differene is not in musical culture of
AR, i was talking about the audience. Sure some hit tamil film songs
have been a success in the north, and many have not! If the
demographics were the same most albums that were a hit in the south
would be a hit in the north and vice versa, but the deviation is too
large. He can give the audience another taal or dil se or rangeela.
But thats not himi, he doesnt repeat themes. He keeps experimenting
and inventing.. I

My last reply was in a hurry so I missed the final point:
In continuation of the discussion..

Would you blame God or those who do not explore spirituality to its
depth to understand it?

Similarly if people cant understand ARR music to depth then do they
have the right to spill balme on ARR? Ofcourse tehy may not realise
that. It cam be accepted if it did not suit their taste, or if they
need more time to explore it. How dare they call it disappointing and
below expectation?? And the most ridiculous of all, below ARR's
standard.. like they have the right yardstick in the first place!

The following is the list of zubaidaa songs. I feel that any
of the above could have been in pukaar album instead of
Zubaidaa. I was talking about the album and not the film,
but let me now give the situations in pukar as well.

 - dhiime.n\-dhiime.n gaa_uu.N -
Madhuri sings the above song in pukar in the beginning.

 - duur kahii.n ik aam kii bagiyaa ... pyaaraa saa gaa.Nv
In jail, Anil Kapoor recalls his mother sining the above
song to him in his childhood.

 - sayyaa.N chho.Do morii bayyaa.N sayyaa.N
   namrata sings it anywhere

 - so gaye hai.n kho gaye hai.n dil ke afasaane
madhuri sings this song when she comes to know that Anil is
 in love with Namrata

Could you please enumerate which song(s) listed above would
sound out of place among pukaar songs?

List of Pukar songs: (supposed be 2000 era)

 - aa jaa_o kii sab mil ke ... ek tuu hii bharosaa
 - haay jaanaa.N
 - naujavaano baat maano ... he ke saraa saraa saraa
 - phir chalane vaale ... hamaraahii jab ho mastaanaa
 - qismat se tum hamako mile ho kaise chho.De.Nge
 - sunataa hai meraa Kudaa

Considering the opposite, I now concede that haay jaanaa
and sunta hai mera khuda of Pukar can't be put in 1947
 earth, zubaida, lagaan.

 - kay sara sara could NOT be put in lagaan, but can go
well with zubaidaa and 1947 earth.

Aren't other replacement possible from pukar to 1947 earth,
 zubaida, lagaan

 - ek tuu hii bharosaa replaces palanhare even in film.

 - kay sara sara is sung by Manoj bajpai and Karisma on
their first meet in the hotel.

 - hamarahi jab ho mastaanaa replaces hai naa even in film.

 - qismat se tum hamako mile ho replaces o rii chhorii.

 so on.

Look at the wider context. yes I agree zubeidaa, with some
modifications, could be placed in other movies. It was a period movie,
but the songs had general appeal with some modern day style.

that is the whole point. Eventually, the modern day style
feel of these songs prevails over period feel of these
songs. Due to this very reason, critics and listeners have
just stopped giving any weightage to MD's claim of
 period-ness of songs.

  (yet it
was one of the greatest albums to listen to). Now try claiming the
same about Lagaan/zubeidaa or lagaan/pukaar, or imagine placing bose
or Earth 1947 songs in other non period films. It wont work. Rising
wont fit anywhere else, not even in other period movies.

List of 1947 Earth songs (supposed to be 1947-ish)

 - banno raanii tumhe siyaanii honaa hii thaa
 - dhiimii dhiimii bhiinii bhiinii
 - iishvar allah tere jahaa.N me.n
 - raat kii daladal hai gaa.Dhii re gaa.Dhii re
 - rut aa ga_ii re rut chhaa ga_ii re
 - ye jo zi.ndagii hai

I do think that most of the above songs can be put in other
albums, of course not in outright modern albums like duniyaa
 dilawaalon kii, etc.

in fact, I feel ye jo zi.ndagii hai, the song that I
consider the best single song of ARR, is having such a
modern, even a futuristic feel to it that it was totally out
of place among dhiimii dhiimii, raat kii daldal, ishwar
 allaah of this film.

When the director of Gandhi made efforts to get a steam
driven engine and paid all expenses to roll it on the rails,
then the sounds of that era was needed to go with that train.

You can't show a steam engine of 1918 having the sounds and
 whistle of an electric engine.

I agree, but is ARR doing that? I don't see that analogy extending
beyond the example you have given. I dont remember if that was part of
any music or purely sound fx of the movie. Surely if needed ARR does
synthesize sounds of real situations. Train whistle, water dripping,

Re: [arr] To Rawat - here's my dissection of your dissection

2005-07-22 Thread ST

Whether a song can be put in another film is dependent on much more
than just the period element. Inparticular storyline, and the
director. every director is unique in his story telling style and even
songs from that era just wouldnt fit in.

The second factor is the audience. During the Mughal-e-Azam time the
audience composition was entirely different. Rising/lagaan brought out
the priod element that appeals us, rather than the demographic of 20
or so yrs ago. And even Mughal-e-Azam had traits of the time it was
composed in..

Of course, I can't prove any of this without a tape.

I havent seen most of the movies you mention.

 - beqaraar kar ke hame.n yuu.n na jaaiye

 - sapne suhane ladakpan ke

you would feel it ok without sensing any time warp?

 On the other hand,

 - Kisna's hum hai.n is pal yahaa.N could have been used in
lakeer instead of paigaam laayaa saawan , and vice versa.

 - Taal's kahii.n aag lage could have been used in mangal
pandey instead of rasiya, and vice versa.

 - pukar's qismat se tum hamako mile ho could have been
used in Lagaan instead of o rii chhorii, and vice versa.

And no one would have felt any difference. that's what I am
saying that people not feeling the difference is what is
causing ARR's songs not getting the weightage that music of
 a period film gets.

 --
On the similar note, there had been enough mention in this
group itself that ARR had re-used such and such loop and
whatever in such and such song of Mangal pandey. That itself
tells that ARR feels he can use component of a 1999 based
film in a 1857 based film.

That is why I am objecting to.

I have grown up with this song. What is different in this from the
other
songs in that era, tell me?
If you compare it with ARR's todays music, you will see the
difference
and this is but to be expected. The recording techniques have
improved
tremendously over the years. I am not sure whether the same
  primitiveness can be recreated.

People have claimed to have recreated that time and again.

As some other mail in this thread said, ARR himself had
recreated that in kadam kadam badhaaye jaa and hum dillii
 dillii jaaye.nge.

Only that ARR putting efforts to recreate it in other songs
is not all that visible. His interpretation of what could
have been the sounds of some bygone era, is open to
interpretation by listeners whether they find ARR's
composing representing that era or not.

And it seems that most of the people have concluded that
ARR's music is not period music, hence the letting down of
compositions have begun which irked ARR.

[arr] Re: Reasons behind the rising downfall

2005-07-21 Thread ST
I disagree. The singers have done a wonderful job in Rising. Vocal
chords are on the spot, crisp and right on the notes - ARR classical
tunes are not easy to get on the spot even by some of the most
talented singers in the profession.

Rising's brilliance is credited not just to ARR but also to the
singers and ofcourse superb lyrics.

On your second point, I found that initially reused tunes halted
expectation - the anticipation factor.. but over many listens I feel
that reused tunes have become well ingrained into the song and soon
and I associate them as much with this song as with one in the past.

I dont think many people on this forums found rising to be
disappointing. It might appear so because the topic got reiterated..
notice thought that most people discussing the topic were defending
Rising.

I agree with the remedies though. Listen loud and keep listening with
an open heart.

Don't listen to ciritcs, listen to ARR. Afterall, who are we to
criticize the God given heavenly talent..

really went away from the favor of the rising are:
 (1) No singer, mind you none turned up to his best in the entire
album. With Kailash Kher as the main playback singer sung like a
frightened Sanskrit teacher chanting couplets of Kabir Das (no pun
intended). And the rest of the singers sounded as usual.
 (2) Reusing of tunes has marred the album considerably. As soon
as the Takey Takey song begins you expect Hans Raj Hans to come in
and sing in his inimitable voice, but on the contrary you hear a
voice that sounds an exacts replica of Hans. And the effect is
everlasting; we are tend to break the music system in two pieces. In
the end you heave a sigh of relief that saiyaan was a substandard
 song.
The possible remedy to these problems might be:
 (1) Listen in sony hi fi or any such other music system that
compresses the voice, and you are left only with the music and trust
 me it's a wonderful experience.
 (2) Or just keep on listening to the tracks unless the singer's
voice grows on you, I am sure that it will.

[arr] Rising does justice to late Mangal

2005-07-20 Thread ST
Someone asked here why he does more period films instead of
commercial.. I will tell you why.

Rising is ARR at his best! Well, it is difficult to decide what is
ARR's best, the list is long..

Not surprisingly, rising is more classical and folk, but with a twist.
He has used synthesized sounds and tech effects stunningly! Some
reused beats, but that is insignificant in front of the overall genius
of the work.

First of all, I have to acknowledge Javed Akhtar's brilliant work
without which the tracks probably wouldnt be the same.
Vocal control is pretty much airtight on the spot.. especially for the
'sur' demanded by ARR. Kailash Kher takes the cake!

Technically, Rising is brilliant. Innovation wise it keeps one hooked
to the new sounds and classical tunes - and yet again very very
addictive. (i need to sleep.. almost time to wake up)

Of all tracks, Mangal Atma is the most emotional piece. As the song
progresses ones heart can't help but visualise Mangal's last moments.
Silence is a very powerful technique when used well. ARR bring out his
talent to do justice to what is to be the most heart wrenching scene
in the movie. From the grief of the dawn when he is to be hanged, and
the courage one garners just before he is, to the moments when one
can't get hold of what just happened. It is orchastrated brilliantly
to follow the audience's emotions with the storyline.. as only ARR can.

Someone asked here why he does more period films instead of commercial.
Answer: He does so because no one else can do justice to the heroes of
our motherland.

I cant wait to see the movie!!

A note: this is a headphone album, average speakers just wont do justice.

If anyone knows slightest bit of history about Mangal Pandey he would
know the situation and plot to be expected. Okay, so by listening to
Rising you can't validate whether it is entirely appropriate. Then you
might want to revisit Bose, bhagat singh, laagan etc.

He doesnt have to use instruments of that era to create the mood
demanded by the situation. Surely no MD in his right mind today would
go back and use technology of 1857 to come up with a score for the movie!!

Quite contrary to that ARR used more hi-tech effects in Rising. And it
is because of his genius that he can do that and still bring about the
emotions demanded by the director. It could consider multitude of
factors such as culture, locality, era, and most importantly the
placement of the song in the storyline.

I stopped listening to critics long time ago - I listen to ARR.

If people can not admit the brilliance of Rahman, it is only because
they can not understand it!

Either way, its their loss, not ours :)

What do people expect from Rahman? To save the earth? Re-align the

a brilliant masterpiece, I hear comments like not up to Rahman's
standards or Rahman not at his best or Rahman could have done
better. How lame and stupid. Our boss is a genius with respect to
his versatility and range of compositions, depth of arrangemens and
melody, rich use of sound, and very importantly, fitting the music
well to the situations of the movie which demand these types of
songs. The songs of the Rising are appropriate for the type of movie
  and situations in the movie.

The question is: How do you know whether they are
appropriate for the type of movie and situations or not?

 Have you seen Mangal Pandey?

Do you have some inside information about the movie?

If not, then you are talking about faith.

Could any other MD have done a better
  job?

are you approving of andho.n me.n kaanaa raajaa theory?

Are you saying that Rahman is least bad among all MD?

Think hard about that. With Mangal Pandey, what are these
critics expecting? A modern day Chaiya Chaiya? Love songs from
Taal? When people write reviews, don't they even consider the type
of film, period, and story of the film when reviewing the music?

I think it is Rahman's doing if people do not consider above
 factors.

A period movie should have music which creates the
environment of that period. That means that the songs should
use only those instrumnents which were available in that
era, and should have lyrics having words/ language used in
 that era.

ARR's earlier period movies all had non-period music. He
always used latest instruments and never was particular
about lyrics. Kisna was 1947-ish, but hum hain is pal yahaan
had nothing 1947-ish feel. it could have been as well a song
 set in 2006.

Even in Rising, the tunes are totally different from most of
earlier works, thus some semblance of period has come to
it. But did he use only 1857's instruments in it, did he got
the lyrics written with 1857's language?

If no, then why accuse criticis/ fans when they discount the
 period-ness of ARR's music.

I feel that the music will be vastly more appreciated once the film
releases, but nothing excuses such lame and overdone comments as the
ones above. I am tired of it.

 ise chaahiye hamdard kaa sinkaaraa.

Give Rahman the credit he deserves.
HE works hard. His craftmanship is mindblowing. His melodies are
haunting. His knowledge of Indian classical music is astounding.

Is he beyond criticism? Of course not. I have no problems with
people criticizing his songs based on valid reasons. But, such
comments above are simply ridiculous and untrue.

Whatever reasons anyone can give, will be valid only for the
 poster.

[arr] Re: Rising very disappointing

2005-07-14 Thread ST

We should not be disappointed with ARR choosing to do a particular
style of movies. I believe his best work comes out when he composes
for a purpose he respects and enjoys working for. Whether he does
period movies, commercial film, broadway musical, or personal album,
all that matters to me is the talent that goes into each work.

In the past he period movies has brought out some fantastic tunes. I'd
be wary of jurging his compositions too early; it often takes a while
to understand.

As for the rating, let us decide for outselves where Rising falls in
the ARR spectrum of work.

[arr] Re: If Mozart were alive . . .

2005-06-24 Thread ST
Hey Guys,

I don't interpret it as a mere comparison; its an analogy.. times are
different. Mozart was the best of his time and ARR is the best of
ours. Media has popularized a phrase for describing ARR - Mozart of
the West. Does that not offend Mozart fans? I'm sure it does a
little. Despite that it gained popularity in the media because it is
difficult to convey the greatness of ARR without comparing it to
something the audience is familiar with.

I think this statement serves the same purpose.

Re: [arr] :: Important regd T-shirts :: (Hey Folks... Read IT)

2005-06-20 Thread ST
I hate to be debating on this topic because our goal is the same. We
want to be proud supporting ARR in public via the tshirt, and ofcourse
we want publicity for ARR. He is the greatest composer of our time and
more people from around the world ought to know about his magic.

Music Composer/Singer label would do. But I don't think it will
attract any unfamiliar crowd because, although it conveys the point,
it seems mundane to me. (just my subjective opinion)

Something like If Mozart was alive he would be called Rahman of the
West.. not only conveys the point that he is a musical composer, it
is more intriguing, especially to a non-indian. I belive something
catchy will make people want to explore and see who he is.. afterall
isnt that what we all want?

People in Auckland are more receptive to other cultures, but Americans
are not. We need to give them good enough reason to explore something
otherwise they are uncomfortable with the change. ARR himself said
somethign similar once when asked about disappointment with bombay
dreams in the US.

Anyway, these are just my 2-cents.. Tshirt creators have the right to
choose whatever they wish after hearing our arguments.

Happy ARRing..

Hi Bharat,

Clearly there are two sides to the coin. I agree with both arguments -
it is necessary to convey who he is, but at the same time we dont want
to make it seem like a product label. I'm sure together this group can
come up with a slightly more catchy phrase than Music composer /
Singer.

Few suggestions that come to mind:
Musical Genius
The Genius in Music
Musical Genius of Our Time
Master of Melody
The Soul of Eternal Music
An ardent fan of the greatest musical genious of our time
The Spirit of Melody
Listen. And you will be Addicted.

Or If this was to be a Nike type branding ad:
Just Listen. heh..

[arr] Re: ARRMUSIC! (a possible answer to spiteful badmouthing of ARR)

2005-05-24 Thread ST
Sunil, Dasun, and other ARRies

Just by reading your response I feel that the time spent writing it
out was well worth it. It is wonderful to see that true appreciators
of ARR's talents pass-by the forums. Indeed, I also hope that one day
ARR catches up on not just this message, but many others left by true
fans, and reslises his real achievement - earning a large number of
true fans in a very precarious industry, who understand and thoroughly
appreciate the depth of his work.

I hope our group can settle on this thought and save us all time from
bickering on industry views criticizing the genius. Surely it is most
attractive to thump the infallible from a journalistic point of view,
but the audience at this group is smarter than that.

Usually I pass by such comments but seeing an ARR fan waver between
his intuition and societal response, it had to be answered. Most of us
have and will in the future face ridicule for remaining a devotee of
ARR, and I hope everyone who supports him despite the criticizm has a
decent back-firing shot up their sleeves. I am not disturbed if others
are a fan of SEL, Illayaraja, Stevie Wonder, Emenim, or Mozart -
people have different tastes and let them be - it is their loss for
forgoing the beauty in ARR numbers. But disrespecting ARR or a fan of
ARR only shows me their inaptitude from a musical sense.

Dasun, you asked about me.. When ARR was not discovered to me I lived
in Gujarat. By the time I realised I had found a gem I was in NZ. And
now when the glitters of this gem are thoroughly weaved into my
lifestyle, I am in the US - currently I'm a graduate student in U. of
Texas at Austin. (anyone else in austin?). Who knows where I'll be
tomorrow; but sure to say that I'll be floating in the sea of ARR
melodies.

Live on..

In response to your rightful concern and comments about the direction
of ARR music in recent times, I have few comments that you may (or may
not) agree with. Everyone has their own reason for remaining a true
fan of ARR. Here is mine.

To me, the box office results in no way represent the quality of the
movie or the talent of its producers. Many fantastic peices of work
have bombed, and besides the odd ones like Laagan, ones that do well
have little more than the classic bollywood story and style to offer.
If it were not for ARR and very few other talented actors and
directors, I would not be paying attention to bollywood films or
music! And by same reason I do pay attention to ARR's tamil albums,
 despite being a Northie.

Clearly, popular music in no way exacts musical talent. The beats and
melody (if even) are purely icing that fade away sooner than the
commercials promoting them. What I find most shameful about the
industry is that 95% of the tunes are 1) unoriginal and repetitive of

I discover what I was missing or misinterpreting when I had heard it
before. It is a well known phenomenon that some or most of ARR's songs
get better over time. And I remember reading his interview once where
he provided a possible explanation saying that because they are
generally completely new tunes and melodies that people have not
imagined before, it takes time to digest.

Now, as for the criticizm of his recent works, I say that those who
find his recent efforts repetitive and unattractive just dont
understand music to a level that is required to appreciate ARR. In his
earlier days, when he came out with Roja, Thiruta Thiruda, Rangeela,
Bombay, etc.. people cherished them because they were very differently
composed to what they had been hearing for years, and in a good way. I
doubt the entire fan base understood the elegance of his composition.
Those that did (like us ofcourse ) are still his grateful fans. We
still appreciate his talents and by no means are we blind worshipers.
Blind are those who can not see the beauty in ARR's work.

I concede that not all of his works appear attractive, original, and
of the standard he has set himself. In my experience what appears
today does not stand true for ARR's music tomorrow. And one more
thing, the same kind of songs that people pick-out to badmouth him
today were being produced in his early days also. E.g. Patti rap -
Muqabla, Jor Laaga - Chor Chor, Jo manga tha - Kabhi na Khabhi.

But after listening to them many times over the years I have realised
even those that dont seem attractive on the surface possess ARR's raw
talent, in some form or other.

As for the recent works, do they not carry the genius of ARR? Some
examples..picking out 2-3 at random from these recent albums.

DJAK
 - Jane Bahara - Listen to it in the right mood it will arouse unique
feelings that is the mark of ARR sice Roja..also heads up to the
lyrics (at some places). Can anyone else end a song as smoothly as
this?
 - Zindagi hai dua - forget the vocals and focus on the
instrumentation.. just that use of greekish guitar with piano is the
proof of his super talent.

Lakeer
  - Saadiya - saadiya saadiya saadiya haai.. you dont find
originality and talent in this? the way naino ke shishe me saya hai
kiska, luk chup ke chanda ke jaisa.. kashti yeh dil, kehti hai mil
saagar hai ishq kaa... is sung, you dont find these lines unique,
extraordinary, and containing ARR's genius Listen to it again if
you dont. And again, until you do because trust me if you've liked
ARR's earlier works, sooner or later it will come to you.

 - shehzade - not a big fan of these lyrics and little bit bombastic,
but that seems to be the purpose of it. listen to about 1 min 30
seconds.. and pure genius at 2:53 and overall does it not put you in
different shoes? Listen to it few more times dude.

Boys
 - Listen to it from the point of view of the right audience and it is
as innovative as his

Intro is great.. you can feel the second part of music sequence is by
Rahman, first probably by the finnish group. The producer mentions
about ARR and music collaboration in the interview section - worth a read.

Cant wait till the soundtrack comes out!
