Here is my simple review of ATM with my little knowledge. Only 4 songs have
been filtered, I am still searching suitable words to describe the other two
songs. Hopefully i find it asap. Here is my review, sorry if mistaken.

Ellam Pughazhum Iraivanukke - I just love the strings used by ARR in this
song. Especially the guitars, my God its simply mindblowing. We should not
forget the great job done by the Chorus, matching ARR's voice. lyricist
Vaale, do i need to say anything about this "Young Man", great inspiring
lines. The loops that has been used throughout the song (it gone missing in
a few moment, due to the change of the tempo) never makes you feel bored.
The vocals, haha, i got a question for Rahman anna. Are you trying to be the
favaurite singer of all? haha... We have to admit that his voice have a
charm. just love it when you say "hey.. Tozha... munnal vaada... unnal
mudiyum... thala thalapathy, thalapathy nee tha... nee thaan... anbu
thalaiva vetri namakkae". Its was a surprising end with 1 extra line, really
unexpected.
Summary: Its an inspiring track with amazing vocals.

Valayapatthi - Awesome start bits for a "folk" song. instrumentation &
percussions are at the peak in this song. It gives a great homely feel to
the listeners. Less usage of western instrument, tavil is the hightlight i
guess. Not forgetting Na.Muthukumar for giving a nice mix of music related
stuffs, such as Raagas, intruments, swarams & etc. About singers, this is
another turning point in Naresh Iyer's music life. This is another new genre
to be added in Naresh's career. I cant find which is the vocals of Ujjayinee
& Madhumitha (guess that both of them have similarities). However, this is a
kick off for their bright future. I love the Maayakeriye lines, where Naresh
& Chorus sung it back to back.
Summary: A new dimension of folk.

Kaelaamal - kaetu rasitha paadal ondru endra talaipil... kaetkatha oru
padal... enna kodume ithu Rahman anna?...hehe... ok, lets go to the
review... the main highlight in this song is the compositions and the silky
vocalizing of both Sriram parthasarathy & Saindhavi. Both of them are
extraordinary young carnatic singers. Again the loops are mindblowing, will
this song rob the heart of many. Already ellam pugazhum gave a big
impression, i think kaelamal is trying to overcome it, better to be
mentioned as a slow poison. Thamarai, full song with no english words
represent the beauty of Tamizh. Personally I love the way the Word "Kokilam"
is sung.
Summary: Its a Slow poison, which is going to kill the music lovers.

Ponmagal vandhal-
It was an unexpected start bit, even the first line also gives a good
impression. Its always nice to hear the backspins of turntables in ARR
songs. Ember Rap, rocked the song especially his "Tamizh" lines. hehe... its
nice to hear this kinda tamizh pronunciation. The mix of the original TMS
voice and Aslam around 1:40 till 1:55 was great. This is the first remix
that i heard with no fast & hard beats added to original version. As usual,
ARR have his own way of creating music. Soon, all of us going to forget the
old version of Ponmagal Vanthal.
Summary: Its not a diamond girl, but a diamond remix.

_

This guy went crazy after listening to a few tracks of ARR
Pls any1 ask him to stop it

2007-10-19 Thread kumar shan
yeah, the promos are being aired. but bro, u called alai osai?? if im not
mistaken, Five star will be releasing the audio of ATM in Malaysia...

they usually will tell that the song will be released late, just to avoid
from getting bashed from the customers by promising early. the same happened
for SOK and Sivaji also. the announced a late release date, but both of the
audio hit the market earlier.

Re: [arr] Creativity of a Rahman fan

2007-10-17 Thread kumar shan
Hi Michal, nice to hear from u again

thats a good question buddy... i dont mind in posting all the edited tracks
(its not my creation but its from the great Rahman anna) of mine here i
usually post it in the forum ( arrahman-online.com) because the posting
will be there forever and its easy for the new members to dig up the old
posts if i post it here the tracks will be invisible from the
discussion board very soon if there is a new member, the wont be able to
download it sometimes i do post the links to the forum (convenience for
me) but the post wont came up here it has been moderated i guess

at the same time i believe that, all of the people who have posted their
edited tracks over here, are expecting comments...i am sure most of u will
agree with that so do i... previously, my own mix of Tere Bina &
Aaruyire received a good comments fom the members but none came from the
big names (active members) here if you dont like it, you may mention it
to me, but they aren't saying anytingfrankly telling this, i just felt
that ppl here dont give compliments, critics or even comments on those
tracks. i do appreciate the works of kaissom ppl do comment on
him i also expect the same maybe they are commenting 2 him because
they know him...

nothing to regret i will try to post my edited version of songs
later in a short while i am about to post Kadhalar Dhinam full BGM [DVD
ripping] maybe i could get some comments from the members here

You are right ThulasiVellai pokkal such a great song with ARR
providing some difference in his vocals there is another souls touching
song in the album which gone unnoticed by most of the listeners... its Vidai
kodu engal naade no words to describe itpls do listen to the track
my dear frens

Choreography is not ARR's album la he was just featured for the single
track Raaga's Dance recently in the semifinals 1 of Ooh La La Laa a
groups have used a few piece of violin from this tracks in their
instrumental section even violinist Kumaresh have credited them... even
it was not that great compared to Vanessa Mae (should not compare them with
her, seems she is a pro in this...)

2007-10-02 Thread kumar shan
Hi Nishant

absolutely you are right... but my comparison was between MP3 stereo & MP3
surround I didnt complaint about the quality of audio CD... even tough
audio CD is stereo file, the quality of the sound is good... because of high
bit rates (very high) but when it comes to CD vs 5.1 (.dts format)
obviously the original 5.1 sounds better, because of various output channel
which gives enormous satisfaction to the listeners...

Re: [arr] Re: Query Regarding 5.1 rahman songs

2007-10-01 Thread kumar shan
Hi Nishant

5.1 MP3 (MP3 surround) sounds terrible than the normal stereo MP3 if you
listen it in stereo sound system. you can only feel the difference of the
MP3 surround if you listen to it in any 5.1 system with the proper output
(speakers) itself.

It is not a compressed format, those MP3 surround (5.1 MP3) actually squeeze
out the extra channels from the normal MP3 (stereo), obviously it will
sounds terrible if you listen to it in the normal stereo sound system or
headphones (because there is only 2 channel outputs). You will sense that
the normal audio CD / stereo MP3 sounds better, because all of the frequency
of sound are encoded in those 2 channels only. Meanwhile 5.1 MP3 have
splitted those 2 channels to 6 channels (front R & L, Rear R & L, Center and
LFE - Subwoofer), so, you cant listen to the sounds which redirected to the
other extra channel, by listening to the track in a stereo system, it only
can be listened in at least 5.1 system to get the full satisfaction.

at the same time, 5.1 MP3 requires a specific player or codec to play the
track with the full effects. normal players can play it (since it is a type
of MP3) but it is unable to give you the real feel of the sound itself.

[arr] 'Chennaiyil Oru Mazhai Kaalam' cast finalised

2007-09-19 Thread kumar shan
'Chennaiyil Oru Mazhai Kaalam' cast finalised

'Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikaalam' is the new film coming from director Gautham
Menon. With the starcast of the film complete, he had started shooting for
it. Trisha is in the lead, Nikita of Tamil and Telugu films has been signed
in, Nethra of 'Thoovanam' fame and four boys Veera, Dev, Satish and Shyam
comprise the cast. Other actors are all new faces. The story of the film
revolves around IT professionals. Gautham is attempting something new and
different with this film and has completed 15-day shoot. It will be a
complete entertainer, a light film with Trisha leading the cast.

Recently Gautham signed Nethra after he saw the promos of 'Thoovanam' where
she plays an NRI girl. Although Nethra is in a supporting role of the film,
she tells that her role is also a noteworthy one. Praising Gautham she says,
"Every character in Gautham sir's film is well drawn out. So I am rest
assured about mine too.Gautham sir was very patient with me and never lost
his temper at any point of time even if the film required several re-takes
during the 15-day shoot." she said. The film has has music is by A.R. Rehman,
art direction by Rajeevan and editing by Antony.

'Chennaiyil...' was announced with actor Surya in the lead earlier but
Gautham clarified that the film with Trisha and a whole lot of youngsters is
new and the story is different. Only the title remains the same.
'Chennaiyil..' with Surya has been renamed as 'Vaaranam Aayiram' which is on
hold until Surya completes 'Vel'.

Re: [arr] Arr...why is he not crediting Illayaraja

2007-09-09 Thread kumar shan
Hi Kamal.

oops... i guess ur wrong buddy... IR is not a Guru 4 ARR...please keep that
in mindhave you watched any interview of ARR, mentioning that IR as his
guru for him??and why ur keep on mentiong this phrase... "his Guru"
...in fact he was just a keyboardist who have just played the tunes of
IR... working under someone doesnt mean that the boss, is the guru for the
worker.this is a quote from ur mail

"IR cannot credit ARR because IR didnt learn anything from ARR "

its the same thing here... ARR didnt learn anything from IR he was just
a keyboardist (worker)so, it is not necessary for ARR to credit him.

Sarathy chello nee onnum comedy Kimedy panneliye hehehe...

You knw that ARR have done a few number of folk songs, which contains a very
different type of composition as well as instrumentation. I can guess it
from your mail below. then, why you said this

PS : Oh rahman !!! why you too fall into kutthu groove... ? :-(

this sounds like you have never heard Rahman's kutthu song before. Hehe,
both of your mail are very confusing. the first 1 sounds like Rahman havent
done any kutthu songs, and the 2nd one gives a huge list of Rahman songs
with clarification for each songs as well. enna kodume ithu hehe

I was talkin about TYPICAL tamil kutthu songs, which will be highlighted in
most of the Vijay movies, as his fans are too excited to listen to his peppy
number in each movie. Most of the time indian film industry will always give
priority to the hero and the hero will always consider about his fans. So,
there is a probability to have a typical tamil kutthu song in ATM, from your
information in the first mail, Vijay also said so. am I rite? lemme quote it
4u.

"Valayapatti Thavilae Thavilae, Jugalbandhi vaikkum mavaLae mavaLae, Jimikki
pOtta mayilae..." & says he did a bad dance with shreya in binny mills & like
other vijay's kutthu songs this song sure to rock this diwali.

from my opinion, this is a good oppurtunity for Rahman himself to do a
typical kutthu song (obviously a foot-tapping one) and "warn" the industry
that he is able to do this type of songs too.

PS: It was a good list of Rahman folk songs (which have its own specialty
with Rahman's touch). I guess u have missed a few numbers of it let me
help you to add it buddy...

kummi adi. SOK
manja kelanggu.taj mahal...
Maanuthu manthayile & etukku pondathi kizhakku chemaiyile...

Dear fren..

dont take it as an insultment, just consider it as a stupidity of the editor
himself, who is unable to compare Music and circus. we should feel pity for
the poor editor who have lack of knowledge and the newspaper itself because
they dont have a proper editor. The best action we can take is, buy a ticket
for a circus and let him watch it. Then only he can understand the
difference of Ring master and a composer.

The teams with the spirit to win and dedication to music for sure they can
perform well and go ahea to win the competition. time is not a big factor
for this kind of competition, its the teamwork and understanding.

[arr] Dear friends...... listen to this !!!

2007-07-07 Thread kumar shan

Hi there,

Recently I have done some editing on the BGM of SOK. I created a track from
those BGMs, with doing some touch ups on the BGMs because I have faced some
problem in sync. After undergoing some adjustments and editing as well, the
track came out well. Actually i dont wanna share it with anyone, I kept this
track personally for a few days. Lately i have changed my mind and decided
to share it with my fellow Rahmaniacs. your comments are welcomed. Hope you
guys will like it. Positive or negative just shoot ur comments on the track
for my own improvisation. pls dont keep quite. :)

if you have imeem account, you may listen it thru this link

Re: [arr] Re: Fan's views on Azhagiya Tamil Magan : Post your opinions plz

2007-07-04 Thread kumar shan

Yeah. I agree with swaminathan, we should interupt in their profession. they
knw the best and Rahman and the ATM crew itself doesnt need your opinion or
suggestion. Moreover, the songs will be done according to the storyline, how
could you suggest the songs without knowing the song situations.

if this is possible, ARR fans from all around the world will do their
request for each and every movie of him. you may hope for your type of
songs, but dont ever suggest it to the greatest. Do you think ur better than
Rahman to give your suggestions. its really silly. hope you get it.
orkut??hmmm no comments on you guys.

I guess it's best that fans don't interfere in the creative process of
artistes and stay out of it. I am sure ARR knows his job.
