I feel i was listening to a Kadhalan + Boys album. Very youthful (Kadhalan) and modern (Boys) as well. In short, Endhiran is the most youthful and futuristic album from A.R.Rahman since Boys. Slumdog Millionaire isn't a genre but Electronica is. Both SDM and Endhiran is dominated by this genre of music. 4) Yup, no masterpiece. Why must AR always deliver a masterpiece? Taimur, while I agreed on some points in your review.. like the hindi lyrics. you could try to use words that are a lot less harsh. it is not always Rahman's fault for not liking his albums. it is film music and you have to understand that the director plays a major role in choosing what he want for his movie. it also means that you don't like a particular type of music. been saying that whenever you posted a review like this. it's unfair to say the creativity is lacking. there is plenty of creativity in Enthiran. there are people who enjoyed the album and that is enough to prove that the album was innovative. But, I didn't enjoy it. even after honestly trying to like it, i don't like it. Also, a masterpiece is something you call an absolute best work of a person. so, there is no way you will find a 5 to 8 masterpieces in just one album. there will always be weaker tracks. I haven't heard it yet, waiting for hindi release. And, thank god that you are certifying that it is good for kids. I remember Shankar's Nayakan's Rookhi Sookhi Roti that appeared such a stupid song when the album was released. Absolutely nobody liked it, not even kids. But when the movie was releases, that song acquired a new area with its placement in the script and we all could see that only this song could have been there and gave full credit to ARR for coming up with the accurate song. so? I hope history will repeat. Kids are innocent and don't think too much, don't expect too much like you and me, so they can enjoy music as it is. We elders cloud our pleasure with several things and choose not to like someone's hardwork of weeks and month and write such harsh things condemning them. But elders are open to logic and the movie visuals and script might provide them the logic they need to understand the significance of songs. Chillout guys... Reset your expectation meter just before listening to Enthiran, the expectation u have on the Songs stops it from growing on you. When i heard Muthalvan, Alaipayuthey, etc., for the first time I didnt like it as much as i like it now... but it grew on me slowly like a slow poisoner, whereas like Rhythm, Dil Se, Muthu they hit me directly at the first time. For me Muthu, is direct hit for me but few of Super Star fans didn't like the songs and protested against ARR for Muthu... rest is history (every one now claims the Oruvan Oruvan is the best of all rajin's intro music ...) Raavan Enthiran are the albums which has all the songs i like.. even in the VTV i will like to skip Anbil avan song sometime... i didnt find that catchy to... Taimur and Kishore, its ok to be dissapointed over the album. But to say the album is for kids, was kind of unbearable and an insult to us who r loving it tremendously. Seriously, the album had the typical Shankar - A.R.Rahman combo punch. I feel i was listening to a Kadhalan + Boys album. Very youthful (Kadhalan) and modern (Boys) as well. I will post my review soon, ofcource it wont be musically detailed, but it will be filled with praises and some critics along it. In short, Endhiran is the most youthful and futuristic album from A.R.Rahman since Boys.
