Re: AIE and Reconciliaiton job import issues

2013-06-11 Thread itsm.support
Hi,

For AIE exchanges I would recommend to export the exchanges to server using
Export Configuration Utility.

There one more option of export-import AIE_Configuration.arx file. We need to
modify this .arx file before import on target server.

You can refer BMC Atrium Integration Engine 7604 user guide (page 170 ) for
more information.

Subject: AIE and Reconciliaiton job import issues

Hi All,

I have created some pretty large AIE and Reconciliation Engine jobs in a
development 7.6.04 environment. I have exported both the AIE configuration and
the Reconciliation jobs to .ARX files. I am having issues importing them into
my production environment using Data Import. When I run the import against the
AIE ARX file, I only get the CI Class Mappings imported. I do not get my Data
Exchanges, Relationship Class or AR System Form Mappings imported. When I run
the import of the Reconciliation jobs, I get nothing. has anybody imported
these files into 7.6.04 and what tricks did you use to get everything over?

Thanks!

Joe

Tauf,

As you said, it is triggering directly to assignee when direct assignment
happens. To get group notification, incident has to be saved with group
assignment first. Post to individual, would trigger direct to assignee.

Is there any OOB feature to get both at same time, when incident assigned to an
assignee.

There is a way to trick the system into doing this but it adds an
administration overhead. You can create a dummy people record and put that
record in the support group. Then, you can put the email address as the
address of an email distribution list that has the members of that support
group. Now, when you assign the incident to that dummy user, the entire
group gets the email.
This is not very efficient or that useful in my opinion unless you wanted
to notify people in the distro list that were not in the support group.
If I may ask, what's the business case for wanting the feature you are

You can try handling this by setting up auto assignment rules and not have
the help desk assign at all. You can also put in an active link that says
something like: if the Owner Assigned Group = Helpdesk, and Assigned Group
is not null and does not equal Helpdesk and assignee is not null, then
throw a message on submit.

The regular form you selected... Are you sure it is a regular form and not a
display only form? If it is a
display only form, of course no fields show because there are no fields you can
get data from as there is no
data.

If the form has real data fields on it, they should show up as being able to be
columns in the table field.

The fact that the table is on a join form is not important. You should see the

Web Service filter error

2013-06-11 Thread Brittain, Mark
Hi All,

I was attempting to create a set field web service filter. When I attempted to
load the WDSL I got the following error:
Failed to initialize JRE and internal java module (ARERR 7017)
Error loading: C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\client\jvm.dll

Never seen this before the error guide and configuration guide were not very
useful. Any ideas on what might be the cause and fix?

Re: Group notification stopped for Incident

2013-06-11 Thread Rick Westbrock
I would say that this would better be handled by user training. Just train the
agents to assign to the group first and save, then assign to the individual and
save. The other thing would be to improve the day to day workflow of the agents
so that they all regularly check for assigned tickets. In this case you would
have to make sure that agents are marked unavailable if they are on leave (for
example) so that tickets can't be assigned to them by mistake.

My thought is that the breakdown in the business process should be resolved on
that side rather than by introducing new code.

You can try handling this by setting up auto assignment rules and not have the
help desk assign at all. You can also put in an active link that says something
like: if the Owner Assigned Group = Helpdesk, and Assigned Group is not null
and does not equal Helpdesk and assignee is not null, then throw a message on

There is a way to trick the system into doing this but it adds an
administration overhead. You can create a dummy people record and put that
record in the support group. Then, you can put the email address as the address
of an email distribution list that has the members of that support group. Now,
when you assign the incident to that dummy user, the entire group gets the
email.
This is not very efficient or that useful in my opinion unless you wanted to
notify people in the distro list that were not in the support group.

Lj,
Sorry if I confused you. I'm talking about the color of the form below the
'Web Toolbar'. I can see that toolbar fine. In RUT, depending on the
Window Type, the window will be a different color. For example, the
default colors for Display is Grey, Search is Blue and Modify/New is
Green.

Can this be brought to the web?

Re: Finding Pool Number from escalation def file!

2013-06-11 Thread Longwing, Lj
Swanand,
Apparently it's stored in object properties for the object

   object-prop: 6\60006\4\0\\60008\40\0\60009\4\0\\60010\4\0\\*60024\2\5
*\90002\4\26\Remedy Foundation Elements\
   object-prop: 2\*60024\2\8*\90002\4\22\Remedy Asset Inventory\

What you see there is that the first example is in pool 5, and the second
is 8...so if you look for property 60024, the second value past the
property value will be the pool number

If the escalation doesn't have a pool number, you don't have that property
defined.

Work Order Console issue

2013-06-11 Thread Brittain, Mark
Hi All,

I am attempting to create Work Orders on a scheduled basis. I have a form that
holds the company, work to be done and when the Work Order is to be created.
Then I have an escalation that creates the Work Order. This part works fine and
the Work Order is displayed in the Overview Console. If I created the Work
Order for the Operating Company it also appears in the Work Order Console. If
I create the Work Order for a Customer Company the WO does not appear in the WO
Console.

I have printed out the work orders and compared field by field and can't find
any significant difference other than the Assignee Groups (112) which may have
the company group number or some random group number. In the case of the
Operating Company I got a random number, Customer Companies were hit and miss
on company group number or random.

Any thoughts ideas would greatly be appreciated.

it is probably stored in the DB in the same manner...you would need to
search in the objprop (I think that's the column) for the property 60024,
then parse the string apart to find the value...not likely all that easy to
get to :)

Re: Form mode color

2013-06-11 Thread L G Robinson
Hi Marc,

My customers continued to expect the traditional background colors even
after we began offering the Mid-tier client so I installed a series of
Active Links to accomplish this.

On: Window Open
Run If: ($OPERATION$ = QUERY) AND ($CLIENT-TYPE$ = 9)
If Actions:
 Run Process: Command
Line: javascript:document.body.style.background=#A4C8F0;

I have one of these for each of the possible OPERATIONS with the
appropriate colors:

QUERY: #A4C8F0
CREATE: #C0E5C0
GET: A4C8F0
SET: C0E5C0
SET ALL: 008080

Works pretty well. Sometime, the bg color leaks though the right-hand end
of the Mid-tier menu bar if the browser window width exceeds the defined
width of the view.

Hope this is helpful.
Larry

Re: Running a Report from the User Tool using workflow - solved

2013-06-11 Thread Drew Shuller
Not only does the user need permissions to the form and fields that the
report is pulling from, but they must also have rights to the Report form.
I went one more step and made sure that the user had rights to the
attachment pool in the Report form, and to the attachment line itself. Once
I did that, the AL fired, ran over and got the report, did the select
statement for the fields in the report, and displayed the report on the
screen, which the user can print by pressing the print button.

Many many thanks to everyone that helped! The next step is to build a loop
so that the user can select mulitple table entries and hit the AL one time.
Any ideas to get me started on that?

Re: OT:Log scrubber question

2013-06-11 Thread Steve Kallestad
Movement on this got pushed back in favor of other work, but I think the
end result is a very useful tool.

http://cdn.tabtonic.com/ttanon-1.1.zip

It's straightforward to use and when I get around to putting up a web page
up for it I'll have downloads for Mac/Linux as well.

There is an option for automatically replacing usernames. It will grab the
usernames as it processes the logs, then process them a second time once
all the usernames have been identified.

It will do search/replace terms from a CSV file containing two columns that
must be named TERM and REPLACEMENT

It will also simply censor any words identified in a plain text file
(replace any words contained in the file with *s)

When it replaces user names, it replaces them with something with the same
length - so Demo would be replaced with u002 whereas Mary Manager
would be replaced with user0034. This is to keep the structure of
the file intact for whatever log analysis tool you want to use.

It will do single file replacement or process all files within a given
directory.

Options can be saved and loaded into the GUI. The GUI will automatically
load the last saved configuration on load.

The GUI will also give you the command line syntax for you if you just want
to run a batch file to process a directory.

You can run this from a thumb drive. (A JRE is necessary, but those are
installed everywhere these days)

Either double click anonymize.exe or run the command line version:

usage: anoncmd [options]
 -c fileconfiguration file
 -helpprint this message and exit
-i file or directory input file or directory
-o file or directory output file or directory
-p Replace discovered email addresses, phone
numbers, and social security numbers with *s
 -r mapfile.csv Automatically Replace Users
-t termfile.csvfile containing private terms (CSV file with two
  columns: TERM, REPLACEMENT)
-w wordfile.txtCensor words (separated by spaces or carriage
  retuns)

 Yes on both counts Peter.

I'm also thinking that it should optionally grab login names and
auto-replace them with user001, user002 and have an options file or gui
so you don't have to remember the command line.

 It's in progress...

Steve, many thanks for what you have done! I never expected anyone to
write something to solve the issue. Your time and effort is greatly
 appreciated!

At the risk of being a cad, how easy would it be to allow the user to
determine what the replacement string should be? For example, replace
1.1.1.1 with AR Server, 2.2.2.2 with Mid-tier server, 3.3.3.3 with Database
Server, Demo with Admin account, jfrost with Approver account, etc.
Meaningful replacement strings would help support to maintain context when
reviewing the logs. Also, can the utility be made to run on all files in a
 folder?

 Many thanks again
 Pete

I was going to give some technical advice since I couldn't find any
standalone utility like this, but I decided instead to just write one for
 you.

It's pretty straight forward - it needs an input file, an output file,
 and a private terms file.

The private terms file is a file containing words to be censored. They
can be space separated, line separated or both.

It will read the input file, replace all private terms with *s and it
will also replace phone numbers, social security numbers, and email
addresses with *s. I couldn't find one of those 2GB log files to test
with, but it ran through a 20MB file in about 6 seconds.

I shared it on Google Drive:

 https://docs.google.com/file/d/0ByjmQ_f5-wyKcEhqUTgyTDNLdE0/edit

It requires java to be installed. Other than that, just drop it
anywhere on your windows box and run it from the command line.

Let me know if you have any issues or if you have any feedback on
 changes that would be useful.

 Thanks,
 Steve

Re: Form Properties in 8.1 Dev Studio

2013-06-11 Thread Joe D'Souza
Ignore my response to this email. I had misread Ricks original post. I
thought he wanted to know how to do it on Dev Studio 7.6.04 as well.

In 8.1 it was decided that form properties were no longer needed.

But I see that Steve just replied and ruined my prank.

Re: Form Properties in 8.1 Dev Studio

2013-06-11 Thread Joe D'Souza
That's quite some change from the Dev Studio.

Wonder why they mixed it with where you would navigate to different views to
- as it is that line looks pretty cluttered if you have like 45 views on a
form, which might sound like not many forms may have that many views, until
you install all your language packs.

I'm not totally sure I agree that's a place to hold the 'Definitions'
information. It may have been most appropriate to have it along with the
Properties window which traditionally is on the right on a DS.

I had this same error and I had to go to armonitor file and set C:\Program

I at least got past the Failed to initialize JRE and internal java module
(ARERR 7017) error. But now I have a different problem when I go to the
WSDL and view the URL I get prompted to login in. Aren't you suppose to see
the XML code? I don't mean to get in the middle of your problem but wondered
if the same happens to you after changing armonitor file.

Re: Web Service filter error

2013-06-11 Thread Joe D'Souza
Yes that would be the way to resolve the problem if your JAVA install
directories have changed.

The reason you are getting the authentication box is not because of that.
It's probably because you have permissions specified for that WSDL and it's
not Public - at least that would be my guess why you are getting that - I
could be wrong.
