Hi Koyb,

I am 'Kapil Banwari' one of the Support Managers in BMC. I will involve Sr.
management immediately to help you out and will get your issue expedited . I
would also ask one of the manager from OnDemand team to reach out to you.

If you can share your contact number , that would help reaching out to you.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

horrific - a real nightmare. At this point, our company does not plan to

SOLVED: ARS 8.1 and SRM 7.6.4 incompatibility with Internet Explorer

BMC provided me with a jar file that fixed the issue for me. Oddly enough,
this feels like it's at least the third time I had to get a different

Interestingly, in the config.properties file of the Mid Tier I found this
setting:

arsystem.emit_X_UA_compatible_mode=true

Changing it to false doesn't actually do anything as far as I can tell, but
hopefully I can find a hidden setting somewhere in the Mid Tier to fix this.

Good morning,

I've recently run across an issue where after upgrading to ARS 8.1, fields with
menus on SRM stops working with Internet Explorer. The only way I see to get
it working is to go into my browser settings by hitting F12 and changing the
Document Mode from IE9 standards to IE8 standards. However, I'd like to find
an actual fix, especially one that doesn't presumably require some obscure
update to be rolled out to all PCs within the organization.

Unfortunately I have no idea where this comes from, or I'd test setting it to:

I think that could work, but at this point I'm looking at my options and hoping
to hear from BMC soon.

Re: OT: ServiceNow

2013-11-22 Thread Ron Legters
I think the Remedy folks on the list would say it’s the other way round. :-)

To answer the question though - http://community.servicenow.com/

My experience is that it’s not as lively or responsive as the ARS List, but
it’s as close as SNOW gets.

I'm not saying everyone is as ignorant about SNOW as I am, and I have
actually seen several discussions on the ARSList regarding
advantages/disadvantages of it discussed very intelligently (as I have come
to expect from this discussion list)I was just trying to explain to
Stephen one possible reason he got the response he did from Shawn...I'm
obviously not Shawn, so I can't be sure...but I think I hit pretty close to
the head on that particular nail :)

LJ,

There are a few folks that are looking at SNOW. In some cases, one needs to
look at the competition to be able to say what's good and what's bad and not
have it be an opinion. Dan Bloom is one.

I spend most of my time building Analytics reports, and I've seen those OOB

calculate the raw time open to date on one of our standard Analytics reports.
The formula I use is as follows:

[Time Open to Date - Raw] = If(IsNull([Submitted].[Incident Last Resolved Date
Time])) Then
FormatNumber(Floor([Seconds Open to Date]/86400) ;"0") + " day(s)" +
FormatNumber(Floor(Mod([Seconds Open to Date];86400)/3600) ;"00") + ":" +
FormatNumber(Floor(Mod(Mod([Seconds Open to Date];86400);3600)/60) ;"00") + ":"
+FormatNumber(Mod(Mod(Mod([Seconds Open to Date];86400);3600) ; 60);"00")

Where [Seconds Open to Date]=If(IsNull([Incident Last Resolved Date Time]))
Then (DaysBetween([Incident Reported Date Time] ;LastExecutionDate()) * 86400
+
(ToNumber(FormatDate(LastExecutionDate();"HH")) * 3600 +
ToNumber(Left(FormatDate(LastExecutionDate() ;"mm:ss") ;2)) * 60 +
ToNumber(FormatDate(LastExecutionDate() ;"ss"))
-
(ToNumber(FormatDate([Incident Reported Date Time] ;"HH")) * 3600 +
ToNumber(Left(FormatDate([Incident Reported Date Time] ;"mm:ss") ;2)) * 60 +

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your valuable responses.
My purpose is to provide Time spent on an open ticket till now, and show this
data in report through BMC Analytics.

While browing Incident class of BMC Analytics, I found there are some measures
like this- 1. Age of Incident (minute) 2. Age of Incident (hours) 3. Age of
Incident (days)

I think they area lready built in , in ITSM universe, and can be used for my
purpose.
Has anyone of you used above measures earlier in your reports?
Can anyone please suggest?

I'm not aware of that site I guess because I never apply patches or hotfixes

Have you tried the latest Mid-tier hotfix? Maybe there is something there.

Interestingly, in the config.properties file of the Mid Tier I found this
setting:

arsystem.emit_X_UA_compatible_mode=true

I think that could work, but at this point I'm looking at my options and hoping
to hear from BMC soon.

Thanks. I took a look and I don’t think they specifically apply to this
specific issue. I’m reading up on Tomcat now because it looks like I might be
able to set up a filter to override the page headers and set that meta tag
correctly. I don’t know why BMC is setting it to “edge” which is according to
Microsoft is an experimental setting in all versions prior to IE 11.

Try this

You had WAY more "'s in there than you needed :)

Flasboard Error On Mid-Tier - Caught Exception

2013-11-22 Thread Andro WC
Hi,

I'am trying to set the below flashboard qualification to a temp field and then
doing a set field operation to set the this value to a DVF field, however
getting "Caught Exception : ')' Expected error"

Qualification is: ((("customqual='Company'=" + ) + $z1D_Company$) +
) + " AND (('Priority' = ") + ) + "Critical") + ) + "))"

This qualification is set to the field "zztmp" and then set filed to DVF1 field.

If i do a Set Field directly in the DVF field with this Qualification the
flashboard is displayed properly.

Please help.

I think that could work, but at this point I’m looking at my options and hoping
to hear from BMC soon.

ARS 8.1 and SRM 7.6.4 incompatibility with Internet Explorer

2013-11-22 Thread Pierson, Shawn
Good morning,

I've recently run across an issue where after upgrading to ARS 8.1, fields with
menus on SRM stops working with Internet Explorer. The only way I see to get
it working is to go into my browser settings by hitting F12 and changing the
Document Mode from IE9 standards to IE8 standards. However, I'd like to find
an actual fix, especially one that doesn't presumably require some obscure
update to be rolled out to all PCs within the organization.

Re: ITSM 7.6.04 Incident question

2013-11-22 Thread Karthik
You could add a resolution categorization entry. That way you can avoid
customization.
