I didn't mean to imply they remove the programs, I was on the board with them and I don't remember why they were removed. I thought maybe they would know. I feel sorry for the students in Asbury Park until we can all get back to educating the student then this kind of mess will continue. No matter how much money is spent on a student if the education process is flawed there will be no educating. I feel very badly that the time I spent on the board was not enough to help the students in the district. Hi, What about the teachers and other administrators do they have any accountablility to our children? How could generation after generation go to school in this district and not obtain an education? I am asking you this because you seem to have all the answers. If there is no longer going to be teaching done at the middle and high schools then you need to close both schools and let the children go to other none existing schools. Please check your information. I believe it was an Asbury Park resident who suggested to Belmar, Bradley Beach, Interlaken have your children take music and the arts as a major subject. Then went to Red Bank and was paid to help create a music and arts program. It was challenged I believe in court by Asbury Park and because there was no music or arts program at the high school. Red Bank could take any of the students. But there is more I believe Asbury Park in some cases had to pay Red Bank for these students going to there if they were Asbury Park residents. Like I said it needs to be checked out first. We can go on and on about who is the blame but you can have people using this district as a cash cow and not have these kind of results with our students doing poorly. Asbury Couple, I totally agree with you, that is why I am concern about all the money being spent by the present board for administrators - acting superintendent $600.00 per day, Curriculum Director $500.00 per day and they have to pay Dr. Lewis as well. But who is paying the kids, the test scores can't go any lower. So while everyone fighting over hurt feelings and huge egos. The kids suffer again and are the losers in the fight for an education. Oh yes before I forget the act super and director of curriculum the people who were in the district for a few years with the same test scores. So go Asbury Park Board of Education for knowing how to spend money but not educate our kids. A Former Board of Education Member

Frank, That's wonderful I'm glad she is an African American woman you could nominate.In my opinion I think there are board members who do not appreciate African American women or men if they don't go along with their opinions. It's about time the state take over the school district. How many times does this school district have to be told that our students are not reading, writing on grade level as they should. Before the state will come in to do something.
