You could pick a physical key, and have it set such that it causes any given letter to be typed, or have it act as an enter, control, alt, tab, shift, delete key, or one of the function keys (f1-f12), or play/pause, or printscreen, or escape, the

Re: transitioning from Qwerty to Dvorac keyboard layout discussion

Here's my instructions for how to use sharp keys. notes:a) I'm using a version that's 4 years old, so yours might be slightly differentb) a key binding is called that because it "binds" a physical key to a registry function, such as putting a letter, or calling a function like enter, tab, escape etc.0: download and start SharpKeys1: now you are in the list of currently active key reassignments, which should be empty. tab to the add button and activate it.2: Adding a new key binding requires you to do two steps, then clicking the ok button. The two steps are:2.1: Select the physical key. This is the key you your finger will press when you want the given function to be called. There are two ways of selecting this key. The two ways are:2.1.1: scroll through the very long list that should currently have focus, until you select what seems to be a description of the de
sired physical key. I'm not entirely sure, but I think this method of selecting the physical key could be problematic if you have some sort of non-standard keyboard or something.2.1.2: tab once to the button that says "select a key". This brings up a diolog where you type the desired key. It is designed such that a sighted user would type the key, then use the mouse button to click the ok button. If you are using a screenreader, and you type the key then tab to the ok button, the diolog box might think the actual key you want is the tab key. Using jaws, I put the jaws curser above the ok button, press my desired key, then click the mouse. Using NVDA, you could either use object navigation to find the ok button, press the key, then hit insert numpad5, or I do believe there's a way to move the mouse to the navigator object so you could click the button.2.2: Now that you've used one of the above two methods to select the physical key, y
ou now need to select which function will be called when you press that key. Selecting the function works much like selecting the physical key.2.2.1: tab once to the other button labeled "select a key", and use the method of 2.1.2 to select the key that is currently assigned to the function. For example, If I want my enter key to act like an insert, I would have select the enter key as my physical key, and at this step, I would select the insert key.2.2.2: tab twice to another long list of all possible functions that the key could be bound to, then scroll down until the description of the desired function is selected.2.3: tab to the ok button and activate it.3: repeat step 2 until you've added all the key reassignments you desire.4: tab to the button "write to registry", and activate it.5: tab to the close button, and activate it.6: either log off your windows account then log back in, or restart your computer.

Hi.I haven't tried this using any USB drives, but only my memorycard from my old psp. I think the file and folder structure needs to be the ps3 or psp style, like the right folder structure so the ps3 know where it should place the gamesafes. You can format the thumb drive on the ps3 and let it make the right structure this way. I don't know where to do that, but how's to get the thing to work on the old psp.

Thomas: Yeah I see your point. My point was just to let people play all old dos text games just by installing an emulator, import the dos games they wanna play or choose them from an including folder and then start to play. If only two dos games would be rewritten for Windows, I see that as pretty much limited. But I'm still with your idea, and look very much forward to play anything you come up with.Either if you choose to make a emulator or rewrite any dos games at the end, it would be awesome if you can make it cross platform both for windows, Linux or Mac.

Re: Swamp, zombie FPS by Aprone

Being able to change chars without having to log out, close the game, open it and log in again would indeed be nice. It would not only make things easier concerning missions, but also when Aprone's site is acting up again and you want to change chars, but rather don't do it because you could waste another ten minutes trying to log in. Though I'm not sure if picking characters has to do with Aprone’s site, since last time when it was acting up, I could choose from a bunch of unnamed characters. Once I even had none at all and the one I tried to create, which failed to connect anyways, was deleted again when I finally was able to choose from my "real" characters.I'm thinking about a keystroke or an additional item in the main menu which would bring up the character menu instantly, only waiting for you to pick another char. I'd also like to see a toggle for friend whispers. It can be pretty annoying when being in a mission or looting. I don't want to switch off my radio entirely, so I set it to whispers, but since friend whispers are whispers, as you could gather from its name, they are not disabled. So once again, a command like "/fw off" or similar to turn off friend whispers would be awesome."/friend clear" would be an option, but it's broken. After you have applied it and you start adding friends again, they won't receive your friend whispers anymore, but you are able to hear theirs.

Re: What do you think about Mobile accessibility for android?

I agree with Pitermach.Samsung galaxy, especially S series are definitely, the best leading phone each one at their times. I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 and it works perfectly. It’s highly accessible, you have a great homescreen, which is greatly accessible when using talk back, there are so many chances that you can add apps and widgets. Samsung itself provides text-to-speech voices, supporting a variety of languages such as English with its dialects, (British English, American English, Indian English, South and Australian English). Also, Danish, Czech, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Turkish etc. Aside from google TTS you got also Samsung TTS which may be useful for you. Recently, google has made “a step backward”, when updated its TTS in English, the quality is very bad and I can’t use it anymore because it’s not clear, so I may use Samsung TTS, Ivona, or ETI-Eloquence. Also, Samsung provides a plenty of other apps, starting from connection to communication programs, such as NFC, S beam, Near by devices, Chat on, and the greatest and most accessible, the sound player of Samsung, it’s awesome. S voice is a great alternative, similar to Siri in iOS, very useful to perform tasks on your phone. Voice control is another feature (I believe it even exists on Google devices), you can answer calls, change songs, write messages, type texts etc. Very last but not the least, In the accessibility section, there is an option for answering and anding calls. You can choose to answer a call by pressing the home button, and ending it by pressing the power button. “very usefull for a blind person)There are also other features which I may have forgot, but I think Samsung devices are highly better regarding accessibility when compared to other phones.

Re: just got a Iphone6 plus, cases and questions

I agree with what you say about the interface, however I disagree on file organization and compatibility, sinse a lot of fixes existed for xp, and hay I have some dos programs from the 70's and 80's that still work fine under xp.Frankly, microsoft shouldn't have changed the file configurations, much less stopped fsupport for all those things they pushed five or so years ago like vb6 and managed direct X, just made essentially an improved xp with support for whatever newer and supposedly better components appeared later, although again my problem is I would only consider something "better" if it actually does something of some practical use, ie it helps me do something I can't do on xp. Far too many people (microsoft included), only talk about xp windows in general superlatives, it's more this, has more of that, or faster the other, rather than actually anything real. I've not really bothered about "performance improvements
" sinse running some security fixes xp performs fine, so what's the problem? and while security is an issue, as I said I don't the huge looming bug bear that microsoft are making it out to be in order to sell their new crap, and would it really! be so hard for them to carry on support for xp anyway? come on microsoft are the richest company in the world! It's a worrying trend not just in information technology but in pretty much all areas of commerce these days, rather than acknolidging that the customer is always right and the retailer must satisfy what the customer wants in order to make money, now the customer is just a cash machine and will accept the one and only one choice that the almighty company gives them. It's a serious move in the direction of huxley's brave new world, a totalitarian form of capitalism with the ultimate economy, and is over all very depressing. So bottom line, Microsoft make something I! want or they can kiss m
 y proverbial rear end!

“very useful for a blind person)There are also other features which I may have forgotten, but I think Samsung devices are highly better regarding accessibility when compared to other phones.

It's a worrying trend not just in information technology but in pretty much all areas of commerce these days from restaurants to supermarkits, rather than acknolidging that the customer is always right and the retailer must satisfy what the customer wants in order to make money, now the customer is just a cash machine and will accept the one and only one choice that the almighty company gives them. It's a serious move in the direction of huxley's brave new world, a totalitarian form of capitalism with the single large monopoly in ultimate control of the entire economy, and is over all very depres
sing. So bottom line, Microsoft make something I! want or they can kiss my proverbial rear end!

Re: transitioning from Qwerty to Dvorac keyboard layout discussion

@Theo, What I meant with the Iphone qwerty keyboard was that though it has the qwerty layout, most sighted people as you said won't be touch typing, however Apple used the qwerty layout because for sighted people who simply look at the keys and poke as needed with a couple of fingers the process will be approximately the same. I'm not exactly sure what "grade 4" means (I never get the American grade system), but I've not heard of anyone having touch typing lessons at school at least in Britain. People are expected occasionally to submit typed work, and there are general purpose information technology lessons, but touch typing isn't taught as standard that I've heard.btw using the quote function like that and replying multiple times isn't really necessary on the forum (sinse for one thing having the entire person's hole post out twice is a trifle redundent), just make one post replying to all people, unless you have somethi
 ng specific to add.

Re: starting out with a guidedog.

2015-01-11 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — Off-topic room : Dark via Audiogames-reflector

Re: starting out with a guidedog.

Ouch, sorry I missed this topic, my mum has been in hospital earlier this week having an operation, though Cx2 and Cinnamon have largely covered a lot of things. Firstly Brad, I'd recommend talking to guide dogs generally for information or just for general training. they're one of the few blindness organizations in the Uk I have any respect for, mostly because they don't take the "I can't because I'm blind" attitude.  Guide dogs are obviously the main thing they do, but they also do mobility and other things as well (right now they're having a campaign group running to get audio announcements on busses manditory). As regards some of your dog questions. Firstly, taking care of the dog is relatively easy if you can take care of yourself and are willing to take the time to do it. I personally had a bull terrier puppy when I was thirteen, (she was a pet dog not a guide dog but was very much my! dog not the family pet), so tak
ing care of a dog was sort of second nature to me, however none of the things you need to do are so difficult on their own. I personally use those rawhide stick bones for Reever for general treats, but to play I use a rag pull toy which i get out when needed, while I have some nylobones kicking round for her to have a chew of when she wants. One thing Guide dogs are good at is matching the dog's personality to your own life style. In your assessment you will get a long series of questions about how much you go out, what you do, whome you live with etc. With Reever the thinking was that while there are some points I'm in my flat all day doing my research, there are other times I'm running up and down the country going to singing courses or the like, not to mention commuting to my parents a lot, so I needed a very relaxed dog who'd just take things in her stride, which she is, although she also enjoys a play occasionally and likes other dogs. If you s
ay your uncomfortable with dogs who jump up, Guide dogs will take that into account. however, another major factor to bare in mind is emotional attachment, you don't worry about where your dog is, what it's doing or how it's racing round when you have lived with that dog for 24 hours and are absolutely sure that dog will not cause trouble, will come when you call etc. one thing to remember about a guide dog is the more you put in, the more you get out. the more you practice not only walking with the dog but teaching the dog different objects, doing different routes etc, the better things will go, likewise, the more you trust your dog to know the commands your giving and be aware of your safety the better things go. Emotionally, i will say with Reever it wasn't easy sinse she really! didn't want to be around me she just wanted her trainer, and for someone like me who gets on extremely well with most dogs, having a dog who spent three weeks lying
in front of the front door was pretty dysmal. It's however gone the other way now and I'd not be without her, indeed she now follows me around constantly and is probably my closest friend. This works out for me as well, sinse I can for instance completely trust reever when I'm out, as well as continue to teach her more commands and objects to find I was quite impressed when she not only learnt the statue of the footballer bryan cluff in the center of Nottingham where my parents live (which I was using as a landmark), but also could associate the word "statue" with other statues as well. Indeed, while it is perfectly true that you can! get around with a cane no problem, having a guide dog seriously! cuts the amount of effort required in walking. For example, instead of being constantly aware of every possible obstacle on the road in order to avoid it, even on a subconscious level, you can just relax and think about your route (or indeed anything else), and r
ely on your dog. The same is true of finding steps, crossings on roads, bus stops, doors etc. As to going out with the dog, well it's a good idea as Cx2 said to go out around 6 days a week even if your not actually going anyway. Even though Reever is very lazy, I try to do at least a 40 minute walk each day at least, (and if that 40 minute walk just happens to pass the very nice local sandwich place and I pop in for breakfast, well that's not my! fault )., I also let her have a free run in the grassy area behind my flat, or take her for a quick, off harnice walk as well. This probably sons more hassle than it needs to be, indeed I found I got used to it fairly quickly. As regards leaving the dog, I wouldn't say "never leave the dog", however I would say firstly make sure you leave the dog with another member of your family so that the
re is someone around. Leaving a dog on it's own is a recipe for trouble, sinse dogs are pack animals (indeed abandoning a dog on it's own in a room is a good form of punishment), also I agree with Cx2, don't leave a dog often. The only time I leave reever is when I visit m

Re: A really good Dr. who related Youtube series

Well with respect to all the time war questions, unfortunatley looking for plotholes in anything the Moffat was involved with is a little like playing spot the cyberman on Telos . Indeed, I still want to know why the heck the Doctor doesn't know where galifrey is if it was down that crack in time of the Doctor. Either way silly, silly moffat. My problem with faction paradox and the first destruction of galifrey wasn't so much the plot, just that the hole series seemed to suffer from fanfic syndrome, ie, authors just chucking ideas together willy nilly and suddenly creating "the biggest threat ever!" There were innumerable invasions of earth, and the Doctor lost his mind because it held galifrey, and he lost one heart, or maybe he didn't, and there were five different versions of is companions, and faction paradox was ruled over by his former com
panion, accept he wasn't sinse he was some freaky clone made out of the perceptions of faction paradox or something. it just all got overblown and quite ridiculous and hard to follow, which is why i don't really care about the plot getting missed, especially considering the 8th doctor really was an odd character throughout it all. While the audios have their share of whacky plots (ie, the above business with charley), they at least get resolved, and also because they have an ongoing over all editer things are kept generally on track from one story to another and don't go to truly insane levels. As regards Brax's biodata archive, yep, I could see that as a way of restoring galifrey if it survived, and again, if there was a sensible person writing, or if big finish was in charge of the plot around the time war, I'd give them credit for the idea, though I doubt we'll see anything like that in the series due to the baleful moff. As to I
ris, well to be honest I could never work out how much of her backstory with the clockworks and the obverse was actually true, and how much was Paul Magres going into a massive meta fictional spiral, indeed myself I preferd iris when she wasn't dropping references everywhere and was just being her usual self sending situations into manic flux. As to the end of the Iris series, yes, it does end on a most annoying, potentially universe destroying cliff hanger, and a uniquely Iris one. i have no idea why the hell they decided to end things that way if they weren't intending to carry on the series at all, it's very weerd.

Yeah, sort of along the lines of what peoplea re saying about char switching, it'd also be nice if you didn't have to reenter your gamer password and wait for the char menu to pop up, then for logging in to complete every time you died. This might not be a big thing for some people, but allot of strategies require dieing allot, such as when starting out and getting as many kills as you can with the default stuff, picking up weapons and ammo on the way and using them until they run out or break, same with armor and medkits, unless you find something good that you can trade in or use as a stepping stone to buy or find more weapons, armor, medkits, etc, and then go on missions, or brave scarier maps to do quests and puzzles and such with your new gear.

Grade 4 would be about the age of 9/10. That was when we had our touch typing lessons, and they told us after 2 years we should be able to type as fast as we write.I was doing the quote thinggy because I often use forums with numerous posts, so if somebody doesn't quote the original context to which they're replying, the person reading it might not remember exactly what they're talking about. So it's just a bit of a habbit for me to do that. It also helps me organise my reply to make sure I reply to every aspect of your post that I want to reply to.As for the 3 consecutive posts by me: I figured my little help manual on SharpKeys would be better organised in a single post, then my reason for splitting posts 12 and 13 in two is because I'm accustomed to forums where each posts shows who is being replied to. Likewise, a notification is only sent to the person who was replied to,, so if I wanted to make sure that both of you knew I had re
plied to you, I would need to split it into two different posts. That's just the style I'm used to.Has there ever been talk of having such a feature where by a post could either be specifically a reply to another post, or it could just be a general reply in the thread?

Re: A really good Dr. who related Youtube series

This why I asked about the Company of Friends.I mean there are four stories in that Audio. And one character is Bernice Summerfield, another is Mary Shelly, and the two other ones should be a book companion and the other female should be a comic character. But I wonder how the other three stories from Company of friends are to be seen and sorted into the Eighth Doctor's continuity, if most of the books are not part of the Audio continuity. And since it was at least up to now not announced that any Eighth Doctor books were made into Audio Dramas, it can't be said that Big Finish is (currently) working on bringing some elements from that continuity into main Audio Who.On the other Hand, the plot with a living tardis newer and better than the time Lords have around Zagreus, could be interesting to see in Audio stories.I thought that the end of the Iris Wildthyme series was due to the creator of the character wanting to write more short Stor
y collections with her for Obverse Books. But I don't know if any new books were published since the Audio Show was canceled and if any new books are out, if they continue where the Audios ended or not.I am also not sure if any works from Obverse books can be bought as an ebook.I know that Big Finish for example only sells the latest five Bernice Summerfield books as ebooks but not the Squire's Crystal, which you would Need to get how she got her child.Books and Audio stories for a while were directly linked. You had an Audio Story, then a book, then the next Audio in a row if you get what I mean.I also wonder if we will get some more stories from the beginning of the Eighth Doctor's life like his travels with Mary Shelly. We had only two Major starting Points, Storm Warning up to ist ultimate conclusion. Then there is a gap until Blood of the Daleks up to the end of Dark Eyes 4.I have everything from Blood of the Dal
eks to Dark Eyes 3 and I will get Dark Eyes 4.And I plan on getting Gallifrey and Iris Wildthyme in the future.I have two other question about Audio stories.1. Did you listen to Daleks Among Us?I read some crazy things about that Story in some other Doctor Who Forum. Some People think that this Story suggests that Ace was killed on the planet Azimuth when the Doctor visited it for the first time.Do you think that this might be actually true, since time travel stories don't have to be always in the right order?2. What is this Business with Prisoners of Fate and the Doctor's first Tardis?Nowhere in the current TV Show was ever clearly stated why the Doctor left Gallifrey and why he stole the Tardis he travels with, nor if he once had his own Tardis and if he had another before, we he had to leave it behind.Do you know anything more about this?

Hi guys.  Might any of you happen to have any suggestions on an alternative to Bill Brown's lessons for learning the piano? I'd rather not pay that much for the introduction lessons when I can't be sure that I'd get anything out of them. I'm a complete beginner, in fact my keyboard just showed up at my door yesterday and is still in the box as I write this. I don't have an NLS Bard account since I get my books from other places and don't want to do the entire visual evaluation thing just to get my hands on these lessons. So I was wondering if maybe someone knew of another similar site or a Youtube channel or something for the complete beginner?  Thanks

True. Make sure you have the correct folder structure as well... on your computer, create the folder PS3 and then in that folder create another folder called SAVEDATA. That's where you want to put your saves... and that's wheere it'll detect them.

I've actually spoken to the developer of this project and they want to finnish it. It's not plants vs zombies but i think it will be quite fast paced.

We have talked to the kitty and her tongue is back where it belongs!* Lyriel continued to flap her wings when floating upwards after changing her mind during a fall. We have explained to her that this is unnecessary effort on her part and now she stops her wing movement. She even likes it better this way!* The greater demon has reinforced all the demon shields, thus Lyriel is unable to push them upwards anymore.Rob

Re: Swamp, zombie FPS by Aprone

Aprone, Thank you for increasing the mission rewards! You made hc a bit more enjoyable! I have noticed a few bugs in hc however.I think the fort menu will not update until you close it by using the return to game option or hitting the escape key. I found this out when I lost five dog tags because rather than closing the menu, I hit the option to enter the fort map.You are not notified when one of your forts gets attacked. Not sure if that was removed in this version, so I am including it. Along with that, I think the fort option that tells about recent attacks is not logged, so it will always say the fort has never been attacked as a result. I have never noticed an alarm play when you are under attack. Where in the fort map is it supposed to play? Are you allowed to drop out of the fort map even if you do not have food? For example: you are standing inside your fort gaining xp and you run out of food but your standing in the war room, therefore you can hit e
nter to drop out of the map. Along with that, if you recycle something and if you have zero food, you still will not be able to move until you log out and back in.When you drop out of a fort, are you supposed to drop back at the safe zone? I am putting this here because I see ways for it to be abused.Sorry if I am double reporting bugs.

Re: math in university

Well, I learned LaTeX by example.  A point came where I realized that my math sure looked a lot like the alt texts on Wikipedia and that the alt texts on Wikipedia were pretty much like code of some sort.  I didn't wake up one day and do it-it happened accidentally over a number of years.  For many of those years, I didn't even know what it was called, just that it was that Wikipedia math thing.  Technically I know Tex, but if you know one you can read them all.You can find a number of tutorials, and you can probably do it in an afternoon.  If someone had said "This is called LaTeX and you can learn it", it would probably have taken days instead of years.  The way I did it meant that I had to know the math topic at hand before I could learn the symbols related to it; if I had known through trig *before* this realization, it would also have probably gone much faster.  If you're wondering, I'm reading at the Calc
3 and digital signal processing level.  I doubt you need to go that high.As for software, you've got two choices.  The first is a LaTeX toolchain.  There are many of these, they are free, and I don't use them.  Instead, I use your second option: Mathtype from Design science.  Mathtype is a word add-in.  You do $x+5$ and then press alt+\, and it becomes an equation in the document.  The latter option is not free, but will allow you to get away with only knowing how to write Tex and only the math symbols parts at that-Tex is actually a full programming language if you get way into it, but no one gets way into it unless they're doing a textbook or something. As for actually learning it, well:x plus 5 is just:x+5x to the third:x^3X to the 5+yth power:x^{5+y}A fraction:\frac{1}{2}A square root:\sqrt{x+3}Subscripts:x_1+x_2=x_3The rule with braces is t
hat if it's just a number, you don't need them.  But if it's anything more you do.  I.e. x^5+y is x to the fifth plus y, whereas x^{5+y} is x to the power of 5 plus y.  Likewise with x_1+2 versus x_{1+2}.And that's basically all you need to get started in terms of syntax.  I can show how I do derivatives and integrals if you need them.

Re: Pen drive on iphone

As far as I know, you can't manage files with iOS because since apps run as user mobile rather than root imho is a good idea in the security department, you can't mount drives. You would need to jailbreak. Now keep in mind that the last iOS version that I used was iOS 5, so things might've changed since then. When you plug it in, what happens? Does it even react? Do you get a prompt like choose an app for the USB device? I'm an android user, but even in android, unless you use the app ES File explorer, you can't access USB devices without root, or you could root and use stick mount. Unless apple updated their security model and allowed apps to install binaries such as mount, add them to the path variable and make them setuid, (no chance in hell), I don't think this is possible without jailbreaking, then finding a USB handler dylib. Good luck. I'm sorry I can't give you a better answer.

Re: What do you think about Mobile accessibility for android?

Is your device modified by the carrier? What about price? These do sound like great features, but nothing that can't be done with a few lines of code or other apps; not to sound confrintational. I do aggree about the google tts quality thing; they should've kept the high quality voices, but at least, to me, I don't really care what it sounds like as long as I can understand it; to be honest, I'll take espeak, it supports more than a few languages, leaves other synths in the dust in terms of speed, super small in terns of file size, and it's super responsive. While samsung has the tripple click feature to toggle accessibility, vanilla android has the power and two fingers to turn on accessibility and the suspend to temperarily turn it off and to turn it back on, just lock your device by hitting power, swipe up and assuming you have smart lock on, get back to where you were in less than 3 seconds. Not to bash samsung or anyone for that matter, but personally
, I have had a samsung device, the sprint galaxy s2, for quite a while, I did like it, but I didn't find anything that android couldn't to better, at least imho; in fact the first thing I did was to put a custom rom, PACman on it to get rid of the samsung/boost bloteware... As I have said above, I don't want to offend anyone, just my thoughts...

Yo, there is nnothing why to feel offended, each one has his/her opinions, and there is just a discussion. The price is reasonable. For example, if you buy a new iPhone 700 dollars, your new Samsung may cost around 450 or 500 dollars. Here is not available to get a contract but I’m sure it exists in US, UK, germany, france etc. I would also say that the differences in accessibility of Samsung become noticeable on Samsung galaxy s3 and newer versions. Samsung galaxy s2 could be updated to android 4.04, and Samsung galaxy came with ice cream sandwich and you could upgrade to jelly bean. I bought my device about 5 months ago, and it has pre-installed android 4.4.2, very accessible. Many features were introduced in Samsung galaxy s3, I’m not sure about NFC, but S voice was first introduced in galaxy s3 and newer.

Yep, I already had my save set up in that way. But the problem I found was when I went down three times from the top of the games tab and hit x, there weren't any options there, all I could do was hit circle.

Re: Dos Games Preservation Project

Simba, I can't think of any specific sites off hand, but usually if you Google for specific games you can find them on the net. A lot of people have zipped up their old Dos games and made them available on the web as free downloads. Its more a matter of knowing what to look for.SLJ, I see what you mean. In any case at this point it is more still in the idea phase. I haven't decide on writing anything yet. I was merely trying to find out general interest and if there were any specific games people wanted to see. I underestimated how many people just don't care either way or weren't around when Dos games were popular so they don't know what they want to see rewritten. So I'm uncertain what if anything I'll do just because there isn't a lot of interest from the community in this regard. To explain when I wrote that post I expected a handful of people to come back with suggestions for this game or that game. What I didn't expec
t was responses of where do I get Dos games or what games were out there. That tells me most of the community are unfamiliar with games and therefore anything I rewrite would be new to them simply because they don't know what was available say 20 years ago. My initial supposition that most of the users of this forum have favorite Dos games is a false assumption apparently.

Well with regards to the continuity shift, I don't think it's that strict sinse as you said, Bf did reference commic and novel characters like Izzy and Fitz in company of friends, and indeed Frobisher with the sixth doctor. It's more when people ask "so is the master the rathbone master?" or "was galifrey destroyed three times" that the alternative universe theory is put forward with the Bf version of those events held as the one in the primary universe, though as I said I think things will be made more officially stable as time goes on. i confess the tie ins to the books is why I've never got through all the burnice stuff, I just find it simply annoying to stick on an audio and literally have "previously on burnice summer field" with the audio being a literal continuation of a story started in a novel. I never really cared for the compassion as a living tardis idea, sinse it just seemed again to come out of no where. When t
he Doctor first meets Compassion she's a normal girl from the 21st century who has been captured by faction paradox and is working as their agent, then for her to be some sort of metamorphing living humanoid tardis is just again craziness (I sort of wonder between that and the craziness with Fits being the head of faction paradox if the Doctor actually has! any normal companions who are not part of fp anymore). The idea of living tardises, or humanoid tardises certainly isn't beyond the bounds of possibility, and has come up in Zagreus as you said, not to mention unregenerate, Remember Foth, and several other stories, it's just the way the compassion plot seemed to e executed that again seemed to be the problem, with a decent script editer it might work out.I personally always got the idea that the Doctor's meeting with lucy in Blood of the Daleks was pretty soon after Charley left him in The Girl who never was, simply because of how pissed off he i
s at the start of that story. Much like Dark eyes continues streight on after To the Death, it just seems correct to the Doctor's character that he has just seen one of his companions who he cares for deeply and has had a huge amount of adventures with marooned on a devastated earth, (still more if he has just realized he must leave her behind to be found by his sixth self), and a bolshy lass from Blackpool is dumped on him! Actually, I'm thinking of listening to  8th Doctor and Lucy stuff again as well, sinse one of my favourite reviews is a big Lucy miller fan. I was never  too keen on her myself, she had some great back story and some nice moments but she always felt basically like Rose or Donna with a   Lancashire accent, however Jo ford regards her as one of his favourite companions along with Evelyn smithe (who I agree is awsome), so I wonder if I ought to appraise her again! As far as your questions about iris, I'm not sure why
Paul Magres through a hissy fit and didn't want to continue the series, but wanting to publish his own books would be a selfish enough reason to make sense sinse Magres, for all he's had some awsome writing moments does have something of an ego. With Daleks among us, I have no idea where this notion about ace having died on the planet comes from, indeed that's the first I've heard of it. As I remember it's set on the planet Asimov, and the idea is that about 50 years previously the 7th Doctor and Ace foiled a dalek invasion, and there's a huge statue of ace in the square (indeed the title refers to the fact that the society is now paranoid about Daleks), but I never remember any suggestions that Ace was dead, just that she wasn't traveling with the 7th Doctor at that point sinse he was travelling with Elizabeth Cline.  I'll know more fully later sinse I'm on a re listen through all the monthly audios and I'll get b
ack to Daleks among us eventually, though I've still got another 20 or so stories to go to get to that point I believe. With Prisoners of fate, again I've not got to that one for a relisten yet (I've just started witch from the well), however if I remember rightly the tardis just states she was the first TArdis the Doctor had on Galifrey before he left. It certainly doesn't contradict anything, sinse as shown in "The Beginning" from the companion chronicles, the Doctor and Susan are chased into the Tardis cradels where they literaly hide in an obsolete tardis, also I get the strong impression that the Doctor wasn't particularly connected to that Tardis anyway. While we still don't know fully why the Doctor left galifrey (and to be honest again I prefer that to be a mystery), it certainly didn't cause any major hassles that I noticed although I personally would prefer it if the Doctor's past on Galifrey stayed unknown rather th
an just turning into a hat for writers to pull coincidences out of (I didn't like seeing the young Doctor in Listen much either, though that was infinitely worse sinse it was yet more clara is god syndrome and the l

StillI particularly like the way you actually have magic spells which can get you through sticky situations, but cost staminer to use, it's sort of a bit like the Lw diciplins or the power from the hero's rise books, though a bit more crytical given that you obviously snuffit if you use all your hp. Re: A really good Dr. who related Youtube series

I get what you mean with the Doctor's past. But on the other Hand, without his past being explained, we have for example no true knowledge of what happened to Susan during or after the time war, since the Audio stories to my knowledge specifically don't tell us if she is a time Lady or not.We even don't know if she is actually related to the doctor or if she only sees him as her Family because he took her in before the Show started. There are some Versions of her origin in the books, but it is not clear which Version is Primary timeline Content and which is not.And since new Who doesn't tell us anything about Susan, we probably don't have any answers. We also don't have all the Information abouzt what Jenny is, since she was artificially created. But the question would be if she is fully time Lord, or only half.If the latter was true and such things as half time Lords were to exist, the end of Donna's time wi
th the Doctor could have been resolved better than to do a total deletion of her memories of the Doctor at Journey's end. There is one other Thing I wonder though. With the really huge number of Audio titles Big Finish have released so far, how is anyone supposed to get them all?Listening to them will take a lot of time. But to get them all also requires lots of Money, regardless of whether you get them in small Groups or in larger Groups.I know that some People started their Who collections when Big Finish started selling These stories, but not everyone was there at the beginning. So it seems that you can only pick at pieces regardless of whether you use some of their subscriptions or buy individual titles. And some things are still not available as Downloads, which means that some things are only sold on CD.

We've got plenty of fast pased games, (just go and fight Lord vctor on Troopanum 2 on some of the harder difficulties), however the issue is getting that factor of judgement in there, ie, not just having to react instantly by a boppit style hear and hit, but react according to the situation, think fast and calculate fast. Plants vs zombies is a good example of a mechanic that employs that, though as I said I'm not exactly sure how you'd get the same sort of thing going in audio at even a vaguely similar pace, though perhaps the idea of fast design features vs real time information could present people with ideas for future titles.

VIPMud Help, SlothMud in Particular

VIPMud Help, SlothMud in Particular

Hi all,So, I'm a casual MUDer, and have been for several years. I love Alter Aeon, but of course I use MushZ for that, and it handles all the fancy stuff by itself. Someone took a lot of time to do all that behind-the-scenes stuff so I don't have to...but it leads me, indirectly, to why I'm here making this topic.I've gotten into a mud called SlothMud, and I'm already being told that if I want to stick around, I'm going to need to figure out triggers. I have never created, used or fiddled with a trigger in VipMud in my life, except for this morning. When you're in a group, it is possible for your group to be scattered, and the first thing you'll see when this happens is "Your front line collapses!". Well, when you're small and easily killed, the first thing you want to do when that happens is to get behind everyone else, so you'd naturally type "maneuver back" to go to the back line. The playe
rs are suggesting that I could make a trigger which sees the message about the front-line collapsing and immediately shoves my player back when it sees the echo. That's great...except when I tried doing it, it didn't work. Can someone who's familiar with VipMud walk me through the process of making and/or activating a trigger so it's always there? If I can do it once, I think I can keep doing it. I followed the documentation in the VipMud help, and it seemed to lead me astray. For fun, I tried setting up a second trigger for testing purposes. I had it search for the line "You drop a small sack", and triggered it to use the command "get sack", but even though I followed the client's instructions, nothing I did could make the trigger actually fire.Sorry if these are confusing or newbie-ish questions, but I really would like to figure out triggers. Aliases are no problem, I use those all the time, but triggers are apparent
ly the sort of thing it's very handy to be able to use, and I'd like to give this mud a really good chance because it's not one of those "grind till final promotion in eight hours" sorts of things. Please write back if you can help. Thanks.

Re: SammySenter

@Keywasfull and Aaron if you chalenge, I challenge. I can get to level 100 if I want, and with a recording, but not at night like now. And as Terminator said, many of the sounds are copyrighted. My friend told me that some of the music is from Papasangre or Papasangre II,  I don't remember. But a friendly advice, Sam: don't use other's sounds, please! Try to have your own for everything as much as possible. Don't take it as an insult, please.

Well with lightning power you can just survive the house by just moving away from position 10 if your fingers get too tired.

Re: Braillemon status update!

I'm glad my little walkthrough for Mt. Moon has been at least slightly useful.Haven't messed around with this game for a bit, but keep up the good work.Balancing reasons? I actually sort of liked having another rival trainer. I have always believed pokemon was far too easy, personally, but that's me. I've also played it a lot and know what I'm doing, largely, so perhaps I'm a little biased there.
