Re: orbit reader 20 now on sale I will do that and see what happens. in the meantime, and another little interesting thing, not sure if this has happened to anyone else, but there is no explanation anywhere...It turns out that when you turn the orbit reader off and store it, if you have not used it for say, a couple of days it turns on and off randomly, like really quick I guess to refresh the cells, it does this twice very quickly, and this has startled me at night hahahahathere is actually no predefined time, it just happens very randomly and lasts for about 4 seconds or so. I have noticed this does not happen when battery is about or below 50%.Maybe this is a self-regulating thing? a temperature and weather thing...aside from this no quirks or issues at all. The web experience was disappointing, too many apps everyone had I could not use, but slowly and surely that changed and now accessibility is about the same in both platforms.I have had four android phones, three of them with physical keyboards. You never got that with an IPhone for example.The current one now is the Samsung galaxy a9, famous for its social media presense with 4 rear cameras on board and no physical keyboard--I am a musician so the cameras and stuff serves me well--also audio quality is pretty good too.As for good navigation apps, in the spanish speaking world we do ahve lazarillo app, in other places I think the notnav gps or "eye D" with its travel mode are decent enough. People praise nearby explorer a lot though it costs a small price and it only works well in U.s. and Canada.I really appreciate multi language voice dictation, as well as prediction. And curiously, I have been running with samgsung just recently, and its been done rather pretty well, they do have certain accessibility enhancements for a few key areas of the system, one example being that you can buy a bunch of cheap NFC sticky tags and record small voice clips on them and you just got a cheap pen friend labeller, so you can mark whatever you want and use the phone to identify stuff, all free of charge and as part of the system with no additional app needed.Power goes pretty decent in this phone, a charge lasts me three days in average.Not sure what else to compare, if anything? everyone's phone usage is different so its better if you tell us what are your favorite or most frequently done things in the IPhone world and we could probably review (or trash) an app for those. lol.By the way talkback and explore by touch are no longer two separate apps, they had merged years ago, so there is also bashing due to lots of misinformation. If you want something, that works out of the box, that is simple and easy to use, you should go for an Iphone. I did that, when I bought my first smart phone many years ago. It was an Iphone 5, and it worked very well. Today, I am using both, Android and IOS. At some point, when my current Iphone stops working, I plan to switch to Android completely. Mostly, because I don't want to pay Apple's rediculously high prices anymore. As for what is better than the other, well, I don't think, neither is really "better". Both systems have their advantages and their disadvantages. With IOS for example, you can always rely upon having updates on a regular basis for at least three years. While with Android that is kind of a different story. I have a moto G5. Motorola released an update to Android 8.1 Oreo last year. My phone hasn't gotten this update until now. So, a few weeks ago, I sat down, and updated it manually. It worked well, but it also required a lot of research and time. I understand, if not anyone wants to deal with things like that. On the other hand, with Android I can dictate text messages in different languages without having to change the keyboard. That's a feature, that I find very handy, and that I would like to see on IOS as well.But also, you won't have Seeing AI, Blindsquare or Microsoft Soundscape on Android. Surely, you could use Envision AI. But that App is not yet, where Seeing AI is. And I still haven't figured out, what would be a good navigation software for blind people on Android.Bottom line, both systems are usable. It just depends on how much time and efford you want to put in, to learn to use them. On my first playthrough, I found the lever that opened the cells first, which is definitely one way to do it, but not quite what you want if you want access to a side quest later on. We don't do a lot of android videos, but we both have used android for at least 4 years.I got the galaxy watch for the main reason that it has dark screen, a built in hourly chime, it doesn't play the sound from your phone threw it, it uses the watches own tts, the app is nice and accessible, it can even work with an iphone, if, for some reason, you want a watch to pare with an iphone. Functionality it quite limited when you do that, but it's doable. A couple of questions about a hero's call Hi.I have been playing AHC for a while and completed the graveyard now I'm in the mine. First I was wondering what the third piece of evidence of treason about the goblins. I have the goblin shaman's letter and the goblin smith's letter, I got the treaty, what more do I need and where can I find it?Also I got the quest from rogar, found the evidence and defeated the shaman, but can you tell me where is the gate house to free rogar and Wilhelm? What are the coordinates if you have them? And what is the distraction I need to do on the guards. I think I know I have to fight them. I'm pretty sure that's the distraction, I just want to be sure. I've seen it go into a softboot loop, a crash loop, and pure cascade failure where one service after another one went down to the point where you could no longer dismiss the dialogs and the thing was frozen solid, and that was not all that long ago. Well, this kind of blew upThe main reason i am on android, even to this day is because my family has always used android, and that's the ecosystem i was born in to. I got my first phone in 2016, it was a galaxy s3. Talkback was actually pritty good, even when explorer by touch wasn't around. Just use a keyboard. That's what i was used to, and i really think more people should try android. Another thing about android is the ability to sideload apps. I managed to get ivona tts even though it has been off the playstore for many years. I would recommend a pixel for starting users. Modern Board Games Hey folks,Before creating this thread, I tried searching to see if there was a similar existing thread, but didn't find a general one so thought I'd create it to see if there are others here who enjoy playing board games.Last year I bought a couple of games to see if I can play them blind with my friends, and now I'm hooked. After my sight pretty much kicked the bucket, not allowing me to enjoy video games as I used to before, I stumbled upon a few board games that scratch the same itch, and wow, I had no idea about the amazing games available out there. We tend to become socially isolated, especially if you are like me, losing your sight later in life, so this hobby has helped me immensely to stay in touch with my friends. After getting a regular weekly group together for a few months, I decided to create a podcast and hopefully introduce other blind and visually impaired people to the hobby. While looking for other blind board gamers to interview on my podcast, I met some amazing people who have been gaming for years. In the last episode, we are talking about gateway games that are good to get introduced to the hobby.Anyway, some of my current favorite games are: - Ghost Stories, a cooperative board game where you are controlling Taoist monks protecting a village from Wu-Fen. It has a tower defense vibe, and can be brutally hard.- Dice Forge, a competitive game where you are forging dice to gain resources and go on quests to earn victory points. The die faces on the dice are removable, and the main idea in the game is that everyone starts with the same dice and you gather resources to upgrade them. - Colt Express, another competitive game where the players are cowboy outlaws robbing a train. The game plays in a few rounds and the player that steals the most money wins.So, are there any other board gamers in here? Programming is just a single facet. There are some computer scientists who do not actively code, yet they still know their stuff when it comes to computerized audio engineering, cyber security, and AI. I strongly encourage you to play around with things as you go along -- don't wait for your college classes to teach you things! Re: Aeamon Remastered ~Bookrage, there were several new eamon games written for Eamon deluxe in 2013 and 14, as well as some upgrades to some old adventures that made them virtually new games, EG Frank Black rewrote cave of the mind to be about twice the length of the original and have a seriously cool ending, and also wrote a framing story and repeat appearances by characters in all the Jim Jacobson adventures. While unfortunately I don't think Eamon remastered is using the Eamon deluxe versions of those adventures, I do wonder what will happen, especially with really awesome new adventures like runsible cargo and citadel of kar-dur. New adventures might be possible, though there are several of the classics that sound frankly amazing, plus since I can't run eamon deluxe anymore on windows Eamon remastered is the only way I can play some of those adventures, which is sad if the EDx ones are going to fall by the wayside. I will admit the idea of file transfers without the baleful Itunes is indeed an attractive one, as I've said before I bought a victor reader stream just because of how stupid I found Itunes for media files, voice notes etc. I do wonder though in terms of aps and games where Android is these days, since I'd say probably %70 of what I do on my Iphone is all ap related, something which is likely to increase with greater use of satnavs and ocr technology, quite aside from games.I certainly will try an Android device if I have the chance too for the experience alone if nothing else. Not only that, but I had to take it two weeks later, making me miss some actual school assignments because by then everyone had moved on from the test. There is a little bit of everything from math, to electrical engineering, to even some minor philosophy concepts. Multithreading and performance optimizations are concepts that you will most likely learn in an Operating Systems class, which if your university is anything like mine, is going to be your third or fourth year. As others have already mentioned, the first steps of your CS journey is to learn the basics of compiling, language-specific features, command line, etc. Then, you'll get into the fun stuff with Discrete Mathematics and data structures and even into designing your own compiler. You also don't buy all of your property at once so you only get expected profit thereabouts from the percentage you own, not the whole thing. Also, it can average too. For example on weekends my Papa John's pizza gives me a lot more money than it does on Mondays so you aren't going to get the same results every day.That's all I know for certain. Admittedly, I'm not a huge guru like some of my classmates, but I do find what I learn interesting. Data structures has been one of the most jam-packed courses I've taken thus far. One fascinating project I completed was using stacks to process Infix mathematical expressionsand evaluate them by converting them to and using Reverse Polish Notation, or postfix notation. A pretty useless thing to do in the real world, but hey, stacks are fun!Would love to hear more about others' experiences, perhaps on a dedicated post.
