OK guys, the reason why I signed up for beta testing is because I think that in beta testing, you can have a chance to make friends with people, and you can also establish, and build trust with them. The first thing I ever beta tested was Branble, and i'm going to be totaly honest, Branble did not look as friendly at first, but with time, boath on and off TT, in working with him, at least on my end, I think he has become quite, quite friendly I don't know Ivan at all, and I rather take the time to know him than just listening to storys about him, so, Take care for now, mister Chasing Demons out!

Okay good, I'm glad you didn't have to do something more drastic and can enjoy more of the floors now, it's a pretty great game for exploration!As for the sounds, I mean loqudus figured out how to do that with Shades of Doom which has, I assume, the exact same custom .ogg file type as SCW, but no idea how he did it and I think last time I asked, he said he couldn't remember either.It's sad, because being able to mod something like GTC in particular could potentially breathe new life into it, not that it isn't good in the sound department  already, but still, we could change up the theme.

First off, combining doesn't decrease life span, I can confirm that one without a doubt to be false, as I have combined many monsters together, and my life span hasn't gotten any shorter.I've come to the conclusion that, it isn't training, or any of that that effects life span, I believe your life span is determined both by your rank in compititions, and your stat amounts, so a monster with low statts is gonna live much longer then a monster with high statts regardless of how you raise those statts, I got a SS rank monster to live just over 2 and a half years, and I still have him, he just entered his retirement.I found that keeping your monsters ffitigue at verry well at all times during training also helps to keep them alive longer, don't be using those intense training methods so much. Keep in mind that at the peek period of training that even the first training equipment you can use will give you at least 10 per train in a stat combine that with miltions and you monster will be a beast, also don't just give the monster food it likes, make sure to try and give it a variety of things, just like you or me wouldn't wanna eat vegetable soup everyday, think of it like that, also I'm not completely sure, but I believe that mega protons could possibly lower your monsters life span as well, so I quit using them.If anyone can figure out how to successfully raise an SS class monster without it being about dead by the time it getts their please let me know.

@18, your not outright saying Android is shit but its whats being implied. Post 3 literally is oozing with the android is shit mentality purely because its braille support isn't up to the standards of Apple. I have already linked to several resources that make it easy to install BRLTTY on your phone, which will get you the same braille support that you'd get on Linux (which supposedly is quite good).I get how the mentality of "Fix it if you can" may be unrealistic but its pretty much what open-source is. Contribute if you know how, or deal with the issues until someone else can. If FS and GWMicro made it so that it absolved them of any liability and left it up to the community, than that's on them; that's not the open-source ideology at all. The original authors should continue maintaining the software, even if the community helps out a little. But the hole point of open-source is to make software freely open source so that anyone can modify it, which is why I submitted the "If you want it fixed, try to contribute" idea above in prior posts; you don't need to modify the entire OS to get android braille support to work. I also diverged, though, from said mentality and did post helpful resources that might solve your problem. I'm not a braille user on the phone that often, so cannot attest to its liability, but since its the same drivers that power Linux braille support, there's a pretty good chance that its good. Getting spot-on braille is hard, especially when you've got braille tables to deal with.

I have already linked to several resources that make it easy to install BRLTTY on your phone, which will get you the same braille support that you'd get on Linux (which supposedly is quite good).

Life Simulator, an alternative to Bitlife

Hello all,I was the one who brought Bitlife to your awareness on this forum but I have found one that I think is a bit better. that I was brought to know by some of our friends on Applevis.The game is called Life Simulator which is admittedly a rather generic name.You play the game by way of scenarios, starting your first game off as a high school dropout. Unlike Bitlife, instead of doing stuff by year, you choose what your character is going to do each week. The game has more time and money management aspects than Bitlife, but it also is of higher quality, with fewer typos, a bit less random and a bit more logic in things, though there are still  random events. Also, the different careers, while there are fewer of them, each feel different and you actually have to do things with them rather than just let them run each year.You also  get traits to your characters that do things like make you better at crime, make school hard for you, or  make you naturally good at youtube. (youtube is a side hustle job you can do)The game has more add-on content than Bitlife and you also frequently get pestered to watch ads for bonus salary for a year, but all and all, it is a much more well-designed game and isn't so sloppy. It also has more music and sound effects than Bitlife.There are also "perks" in the game that you can turn on in the start of your life that are special stat bonuses. There are several you can buy but also if you play straight for several days, you can get bonus ones, which is the primary way you get new scenarios as well. You can also earn free money and pills that make you younger by playing streaks, and that is as easy as just turning on the game once per day.It doesn't update as often as Bitlife and it doesn't have quite as much content, but the overall quality of content it does have is better. Also, if you are looking for a game for more family-friendly play, this is it as I haven't found any major adult references. I've dealt in drugs but even most of those are generic-sounding like "Red Pill" "powder," "mushroom" and such rather than major names of real street drugs.

Also dropbox folders are a really bad idea because the version control is, at best, hard to access. If you're going to be letting untrusted kids, and yes I say kids, beta test your software, you need a better version control such as github or a gitlab on your own server. Dropbox, and the v virus spreading, is probably the reason why BGT games are now flagged as malware. It's because people would open the infected games from within their dropbox folders, and then the infection would spread to random files on the users' pc's especially in other nearby files/folders which would often be in other dropbox shared folders that they had, spreading the virus more and more, etc.

I have to admit I wasn't really understanding the hype around this game, but having played it more now, it's not bad, I'd probably give it 3.5 stars out of 5 in it's current state, and it's improving all the time.I think it's a fun little kid friendly arcade title with good sounds, a couple twists on the formula, and decent balance (I'll have to play it more to really know) even if the concept isn't completely original and a couple of the sounds have been overused in other titles.The price seems quite reasonable too, given that you get the main gameplay with no time restrictions for free, three computer licensing, updates are frequent, server hosting for scoreboards needs to be paid for, and it's a niche market so he won't get very many customers, plus paypal skims some off the top of every order.I would prefer a home end volume control for footsteps rather than the super quiet ones now, but maybe that's just me?I do believe that the bonuses could probably be a bit quieter though, or the balloons a bit louder, because when your aiming for one it's hard to hear the other, but maybe that just takes practice and it's on me as the player.I don't really like that you get achievements for every little tiny thing either, like using each menu option the first time.  I don't think the goal of those is really to get as many as humanly possible into the game the way people have been doing lately, but to make them more worth while.  Otherwise their is no real feeling of well, achievement! If you do something multiple times that most people wouldn't, or you make a rare choice, that's something, but otherwise, it just feels like padding to get the number up for the game blurb.The documentation is also pretty out of date (which to be fare you did point out right at the top) for instance it doesn't explain how to use bombs, doesn't talk about balloon storms, and still says achievements aren't supported in the unpaid version.  I know that your trying to get some more professional documentation done, which is good, and it's easy to just say you'll roll all the new changes up into that and release it all at once, but in the meantime, it would take two minutes to add it to the current documentation and that helps now, rather than later.Some fun, bouncy music for the main game might be cool too, I think soundimage.org has a few tracks that could fit quite well.

I'm not bringing it up here, for obvious drama reasons, and the fact that you want me too is a bit telling in and of it's self.  It's not like I believe everything I've been told in full, but I can see the potential for it being true in things you do even as of half a year ago, that's what I'm getting at, and it's the same for Carter and Sam just less so and they tend to be allot more willing to discuss previous mistakes, rather than shutting it down ASAP.To explain it further, your often quite defensive, and you sometimes lose your temper pretty badly for instance and get overly personal and vindictive, other times you seem to be trying to manipulate people into ignoring the past you, rather than facing it more honestly.  I know some people just want to needle you for a reaction, so I can understand dismissing them, but you do it in such a way as to completely invalidate the entire subject, and it feels just like how dishonest public officials do it.  Minimize, redirect, discredit.  You seem to be one of those people who has a harder time than most with (truly) accepting fault beyond just saying it, tending to try and shift the blame to someone else instead.  And I think it's a bit hypocritical that you talk about people steeling hard work from you on the cloning topics.  I mean it's true of course, but you'd probably be better off staying out of those, because it makes you look bad when you take on this mantle of a completely legitimate developer like that when you were just the opposite not long ago, and pretty much everyone remembers.Your working towards that status with your latest release though, and I think you've definitely improved, but I still wouldn't suggest that people work with you closely for now, just encase they get dragged down with you because of some relapse.It might sound overly paranoid, but I've seen it happen more than once, particularly with these public beta signups with forgiving requirements and no specific direction.  They usually turn toxic pretty fast, if communication doesn't break down first.

See when you talk about things 'half a year ago' I get really confused because in January I really wasn't around. I would code Balloon Master and hang out with my friends so I would just like to know what's been going around that I've been 'doing' so I can clearify the roomers or maybe somethings that are not roomers.Its not that I want to shut it down, but I just see no point in going on and on about something I did when I was like 14. I believe a 14 year-old and even a 16-year-old can change drasticly, even more of someone who is an adult and has had more 'real life' experiences and not just sitting behind a keyboard.I know I can get really upset at times and start throwing shit at people and I understand that. Something that I've had a hard time with ever since I was a kid, however its gotten a lot more manageable over the years. Either way, I will try to not jump the gun and start hammering away at the keyboard when I see a post that I get extremely mad about on the forum.Thanks

Just because those of us that know how to code can fix code we don't like doesn't mean everyone should be told to fix broken software themselves. As I pointed out earlier, FS adopted this mentality at one point and so did GWMicro, and I didn't like it then, either. It absolves the companies--who hire people to fix problems--of the responsibility of fixing them, because well, the community, if it weren't so damn lazy, would just fix it itself. See my roofer analogy above.Plus, we go right back to the argument that not everyone is a coder, so you can't just expect every person and their mom to jump in and start coding on such a complex project as Android. It's simply not realistic. Most of these people don't even know what a linked list is. Just like hardware is out of the league of many of us, so is software to many others. If DYI was so easy, nowadays everyone and their dad would be a plumber. But...surprise! We still have hardware stores around to do hardware maintenance.So, again, it's easy for people like you to just come here and write "well...just fix it yourself," but this idea is simply not realistic because now you're assuming everyone has the domain-specific knowledge you do. So you can't use that catch-all as a solution to every open-source problem you come across.And this is definitely a younger mentality we've got going on here because it's idealistic and based on a premise that simply doesn't hold in reality. I used to think the same way when I was your age, until I realized that people go to school for different reasons--and still more don't go to post-secondary at all.Also, reading backwards, I don't think anyone said Android is shit. We all have raised accessibility concerns and the lack of a true access effort in Android, which, even I, (not being an Android user) have heard many Android users themselves complain about.

I'd do it if my server wasn't already hosting something that may or may not replace anyaudio (with a lot more functionality). I may or may not allow the uploading of audio though. I don't know if it'll be ready soon or not but its a possibility. There's a lot that needs getting done before that.Edit: I doubt this will be ready any time soon. I'll be working on it as time permits (and assuming I don't get hugely majorly ultra distracted).

Streamers, advice please?

So with my hype for Samurai Shodown, I thought I would let it all out of my system at once with a stream as soon as I can get something set up and the game comes out. I would prefer a higher end laptop or gaming computer, but right now my current once which is still decent ll have to do. I'm hoping to stream from the ps4 through my pc to either youtube or twitch, most likely youtube since I already have a channel. From the people who already stream, what is a good setup one would recommend for someone just getting started? Mics for commentary are not a problem, but I do need a decent video capture card, I asume. OBS works? Any tips people can give would be appreciated, the more detailed the better. I'm assuming I just have to set video and audio sources both to the external card if everything is running through it, but would still like any advice that could be given. Thanks!

a way that you could get around this is to segment the battles. so lets say each segment lasts around 30 seconds. based on how that segment plays out you then have to make a tactical choice as to how to proceed. if your troupes are being wiped out do you then try for a tactical withdrawal? so even though the battle may take a while, it does however mean that you are more hands on  eith it.

I'm not bringing it up here, for obvious drama reasons, and the fact that you want me too is a bit telling in and of it's self.  It's not like I believe everything I've been told in full, but I can see the potential for it being true in things you do even as of half a year ago, that's what I'm getting at, and it's the same for Carter and Sam just less so and they tend to be allot more willing to discuss previous mistakes, rather than shutting it down ASAP.To explain it further, your often quite defensive, and you sometimes lose your temper pretty badly for instance and get overly personal and vindictive, other times you seem to be trying to manipulate people into ignoring the past you, rather than facing it more honestly.  I know some people just want to needle you for a reaction, so I can understand dismissing them, but you do it in such a way as to completely invalidate the entire subject, and it feels just like how dishonest public officials do it.  Minimize, redirect, discredit.  You seem to be one of those people who has a harder time than most with (truly) accepting fault beyond just saying it, and I think it's a bit hypocritical that you talk about people steeling hard work from you on the cloning topics.  I mean it's true of course, but you'd probably be best staying out of those, because it makes you look bad when you take on this mantle of a completely legitimate developer like that when you were just the opposite not long ago, and pretty much everyone remembers.Your working towards that status with your latest release though, and I think you've definitely improved, but I still wouldn't suggest that people work with you closely for now, just encase they get dragged down with you because of some relapse.It might sound overly paranoid, but I've seen it happen more than once, particularly with these public beta signups with forgiving requirements and no specific direction.  They usually turn toxic pretty fast, if communication doesn't break down first.

I have to admit I wasn't really understanding the hype around this game, but having played it more now, it's not bad, I'd probably give it 3.5 stars out of 5 in it's current state, and it's improving all the time.I think it's a fun little kid friendly arcade title with good sounds, a couple twists on the formula, and decent balance (I'll have to play it more to really know) even if the concept isn't completely original and a couple of the sounds have been overused in other titles.The price seems quite reasonable too, given that you get the main gameplay with no time restrictions for free, three computer licensing, updates are frequent, server hosting for scoreboards needs to be paid for, and it's a niche market so he won't get very many customers, plus paypal skims some off the top every time.I do believe that the bonuses could probably be a bit quieter though, or the balloons a bit louder, because when your aiming for one it's hard to hear the other, but maybe that just takes practice and it's on me as the player.I don't really like that you get achievements for every little tiny thing either, like using each menu option the first time.  I don't think the goal of those is really to get as many as humanly possible into the game the way people have been doing lately, but to make them more worth while.  Otherwise their is no real feeling of well, achievement! If you do something multiple times that most people wouldn't, or you make a rare choice, that's something, but otherwise, it just feels like padding to get the number up for the game blurb.The documentation is also pretty out of date (which to be fare you did say) for instance it doesn't say how to use bombs, doesn't talk about balloon storms, and still says achievements aren't supported in the unpaid version.  I know that your trying to get some more professional documentation done, which is good, and it's easy to just say you'll roll all the new changes up into that and release it all at once, but in the meantime, it would take two minutes to add it to the current documentation and that helps now, rather than later.Some fun, bouncy music for the main game might be cool too, I think soundimage.org has a few tracks that could fit quite well.

I just mute my speech and wait, though yeah space would be best.As for dealing with hundreds of thousands of troops, I guess you could just base the group sizes for movements on the total, so instead of bringing 1000 men forward, when fighting with 5000 total, you bring 5 out of 25 forward and leave 20 in reserve, unless you wanted a smaller movement (25000) or larger (75000) but that's just brainstorming and obviously only part of the picture.

OK, here is a translated version of The Blank Game, in a way. It's the same game, but with different characters and a different story. I originally didn't want to post this because it was very personal, but I removed as much personal content as I could. The main reason I'm posting the game, though, is because of how much translation I put in to it. The story still is funny like the Blank Game, but their are one or two almost sad parts. Now, things you might want to know about the game. Guessing some of us get mad at our brothers? That's the main reason I created the game, just because something was going on between my brother and I. Instead of physically attacking him, I put it into a game so I could beat it again and again and make it feel like I was getting revenge on my brother for things that happened, not saying what they were. About characters, all the characters are real people accept for Person and Simeon (from A Hero's Call). Yes, Simeon is one of the characters in this game. Person is from the Bookbook books. About the other people, Anastacia (yes it's supposed to be spelled that way) is a performer, in life. I even used some of her songs in this game because of how good she sounds! We know Jenny Ford, the step instructor from Pine Attack. Morticia is, well people who know the Addam's Family should know who she is, and we all know Barack Obama. Yes, Barack Obama and Donald Trump show up in this game. The last character is a student from Perkins School For The Blind, but I'm not saying exactly who since I don't know if he wants me saying who he is in life. He wanted to go in the game, so he went in the game! Those are all the playable characters. To play the game, download and unzip the file then run play.exe. The only commands you need to remember are the arrows to navigate menus, enter to advance the story (move to the next message) and tab to view the character status. The status works the same as The Blank Game. Most of the music is midi, so users of Coolsoft Vertual Midi Synth will be able to turn down the volume. The only loud music files are the 2 versions of 8 6 7 5 3 O 9, the Anastacia songs (I'm Outa Love, One Day In Your Life and Paid My Dues), the song used in Crapcrap, and the 2 Pokemon songs. That'd be cool, too, but you know, we won't be able to deal this way with hundreds of thousands of enemies like the ones I fought today in the Unconquerable Lands, nor will one even have the stamina to wait the whole time for these to be killed, even if having an equal or superior armey. I waited a lot and though my troupes were killing a lot of enemies (I chose the second option and did not attack the whole faction), I got fed up of waiting and gave up the battle by ragequitting the game as a whole, hence the suggestion to make a key to fast these forward or to skip them like you could do when being attacked by other factions.

OK, here is a translated version of The Blank Game, in a way. It's the same game, but with different characters and a different story. I originally didn't want to post this because it was very personal, but I removed as much personal content as I could. The main reason I'm posting the game, though, is because of how much translation I put in to it. The story still is funny like the Blank Game, but their are one or two almost sad parts. Now, things you might want to know about the game. Guessing some of us get mad at our brothers? That's the main reason I created the game, just because something was going on between my brother and I. Instead of physically attacking him, I put it into a game so I could beat it again and again and make it feel like I was getting revenge on my brother for things that happened, not saying what they were. About characters, all the characters are real people accept for Person and Simeon (from A Hero's Call). Yes, Simeon is one of the characters in this game. Person is from the Bookbook books. About the other people, Anastacia (yes it's supposed to be spelled that way) is a performer, in life. I even used some of her songs in this game because of how good she sounds! We know Jenny Ford, the step instructor from Pine Attack. Morticia is, well people who know the Addam's Family should know who she is, and we all know Barack Obama. Yes, Barack Obama and Donald Trump show up in this game. The last character is a student from Perkins School For The Blind, but I'm not saying exactly who since I don't know if he wants me saying who he is in life. He wanted to go in the game, so he went in the game! Those are all the playable characters. To play the game, download and unzip the file then run play.exe. The only commands you need to remember are the arrows to navigate menus, enter to advance the story (move to the next message) and tab to view the character status. Someone, or a few someones, just need to step up and make a better service I think.  Chances of Sam doing it are pretty low it sounds like, and can not be counted on.Lots of people have talked about it, but very few have actually made much progress as far as I can tell.  Even if it's someone not willing to pay out of pocket, something donation based where if the server costs aren't covered for that month it freezes uploads, downloads, possibly even comments and votes until they are, and shows an indicator of how close it is to being payed and who has donated.Either way, some better moderation, some actual rules, I know it wont' be super easy and we don't have many that could do it right, but, at least allot of the plugins needed already exist it seems, and I know people would be willing to help moderate it at least for a while until a more stable team was made.All we need is one person with a level head and some knowhow to carefully select a small team of tallent to do it and replace/communicate with people as needed, so we don't end up with the typical audio games community project with bad security, unrealistic project timelines, constant ego clashing, differing ideas flying every which way and massively varying levels of skill all held to the same standard.Allot of people have servers sitting around not doing much, and offer to host stuff when ever it comes up, so it's not as if we don't have the infrastructure, especially if file size limits or server side compression are done.

Yeah this game is pretty buggy regardless, but the lower your computers specs, the worse that kinda stuff gets.Best way to avoid this is to not enter and exit areas more than once quickly, and maybe try turning off virtual 3D in options if it isn't already.Using the reset soundcard buffers shortcut (Control C) from within the game could help too.  Just make sure your screen reader is unloaded first, and what ever you do, don't hit C by it's self because the speaker test is broken spectacularly.Another option may be to replace your current sound card drivers with generic ones from Microsoft, just make sure you have a copy of your current ones from the soundcard manufacturers website before hand so you can rollback as needed.  Nothing should go wrong, but just encase, either have a willing sighted person around, a USB external soundcard, an app like seeing AI with good lighting and another device to look up stuff on, or be my eyes with the Microsoft Accessibility team under specialized help, which may not be available in your country if you aren't in the US, Canada, or UK.

I'm really not sure what is happening and I'm trying desperatly to replicate the fault, but until I can replicate it or find a detailed fault report I'm unfortunatly a little stumped. However I have altered the install package to now install everything the PCP should need in one go. this includes the auio library and Net framework 4.7.I've even tested the new install packages, re-downlaoed them, installed them. downloaded and extracted the game and then loaded and played it. all worked fine.If anyone would like to try the new install and see if it gets us any further please let me know.Sorry about this, hopefully it will be worth the hassle and we can some feedback about the demo to help make a game everyone would like to be developed.
